I cannot fathom that someone would seriously follow Dylan and his Dad from Durango all the way to Dad's house and wait for an opportunity to abduct Dylan. Sorry, just not seeing that as any kind of viable option. IMO

Why?

People have raped children right in Walmart stores.

I dont dismiss anything that people are capable of doing nowadays.

Pedos have been known to stalk their victim beforehand. They have been known to case out the place too.....the habits...of the people inside of the home.

But I think it is just as highly likely that they may have a closet pedo living in the community and saw MR leaving. He may have even known beforehand that Mark was to have Dylan over the holidays.

He could have been someone Dylan even knew and trusted. Westerfield the kidnapper/rapist/murderer had lived in the community for many years yet no one knew he was a closet pedo and had abused family members until he set his sight on Danielle Van Dam and ventured out of his comfort zone.

Was just sitting here thinking it was odd that they haven't released the WM pics as what he was last seen in and poof, here they are. And BS that they don't know what was purchased. Sure they do. Why is that a secret? My son (11yo) doesn't normally go around with his hands in his pockets, he's normally grabbing and snatching everything. Only oddity I see here. And yes, I think it was Dylansmom on here who said something about it being very sad that these are most likely his last moments.

Dylan where are you?? What happened??

No they will not release the results on anyone who took a poly not even if they passed with flying colors.
SBM

We covered in Thread 8 that LE does sometimes release results of polys, as they did in Bianca Jones' case. Link in that thread.

The task force in this case has chosen not to release results to date. They may or may not choose to do so in the future, depending on how the investigation proceeds, IMO.

Surely it wouldnt take them this long though but perhaps you are right.

All I know if there was one hit one day I may excuse it as a false alert but two days in a row? Nope, I would keep searching until I located where that scent was coming from. These dogs are trained to disregard animal scent. Human beings have a very distinctive scent from animals due to our diet.

IMO

I think they really really need to go back in that lake!

I don't know if it has been discussed yet ( having a hard time keeping up) but when exactly did Dylan text/ call his friends about meeting them on monday instead of sunday? (Would it be possible someone else sent that message?)

I believe Dylan would have immediately contacted his friends Saturday evening after his flight got cancelled to let them know he would be arriving the following day. He wouldn't wait until he arrived at his dad's to notify his friends imo.

ER communicated with her son at 7:06 pm, an hour before his the cell phone was shut off so if Dylan texted his friends from his mom's, he didn't really need to text them when he arrived at his dad's. jmo

Why isn't it possible that someone took photo's or video's? While boating or fishing on the lake or on dirt roads while riding ATV's or Dirt bikes? Most everyone has this capability on their phones and many do.

Thats the thing that is great in today's time. So many nowadays have digital cameras and carry them with them often and are always taking pictures of something lol. I have been on vaca with my hubby and even riding down the road I will take pics of cars trucks etc passing by or scenery or I make a video. Plus most people have phones now that takes photos.

Reading posts this am, it struck me that even if mom has been ruled out, and passed a poly as she said, given the difficulties between these parents, LE might choose not to release that info to keep them on level footing and not alienate dad/decrease his cooperation. Just a thought.

I just can't see a perfect stranger following him on the first time he's been at Dad's house in months and lucking into having an opportunity to nab Dylan. Just my opinion.

That is the scenario I can't see happening.

phone records only prove that texts or calls have been attempted, like say Gerard Baden-Clay texting his wife Allison asking if she had slept well and where she was.

This just reminded me of Kenya Monge/Travis Forbes, also a case here in CO. :(

Why is it that many expect LE to release ALL the info they have to the public? If releasing the info to the public would hinder their investigation and/or not help it in any way they are not going to release it and have no obligation to do so. I can think of many many cases where LE kept the details they had close to the vest which ultimately lead to an arrest which would not have happened had the perp known they were on to them. If there is a perp they are part of the public!

Me too. There are somethings I dont understand but I know LE had their reasons. If I was in LE once I was told that the fishing pole was missing I would have immeditately started searching every area that has waterways in and around this community.

When my neighbor drowned they did search extensively for days but then they would hold off 4-5 days and go back and do searches again. They repeated this for over two months but they never have found her body and the Judge declared her dead since there were witnesses that saw her jump in. I think they were hoping the water would warm and bring her body to the top but it never did. It was probably trapped on some debris on the lakebed and after many months the body probably broke down completely by then.

So they need to stick with it. Is there a dam at this lake/reservoir? He could have gone over the dam. Does the dam water run into any other body of water

I would love for them to bring the dogs back again this week ....

I know jenny... right???

I am thinking they have cameras in the more populated areas but once you start heading out into the less populated areas the only things that could exist would be persons taking pictures or video ... but I think that is going to be a difficult endeavor to say the least imhoo (for the reasons of what you said above)

unless

they are trying to get pictures and videos from areas ALONG (meaning stops along) the main route

I think you're onto something here. They didn't ask for people to submit home surveillance video, security cams, or anything like that. OTOH, do people in that area set up nature cams, webcams of the lake, or anything of that sort?

They did. And found nothing.

If I'm reading Eileen's post correctly, I think she means they need to go back IN the lake to search (i.e. divers). The latest article just posted states they did another "AIR search".

I dont quite understand that either. Im not one of them though. I dont have to know everything. No investigator worth their salt is going to put out every bit of info they have either validated by now or are continuing to evaluate.

I think they are being honest when they really have said they dont know yet what happened to Dylan but they will continue on with the investigation hoping they can find out.

I think dylan would have been online talking to his friends IF his phone was dead.

I dont think my son would survive a night without a phone or a computer.
They never go anywhere without a charger.
We have them in the cars in our bags their school backpacks.
They charge them when they sleep but the phone is on because god forbid they miss a text.
I just cant understand what happend to his phone!
Well I do have an idea but ......

Yes that is what I thought she meant too.

My neighbor was in the lake......the dogs alerted when taken out in the water on boats....they never found her but she was and is still in there somewhere the poor sweet soul.:(

So they can miss bodies especially when the water is cold where bodies dont rise but will stay on the bottom or caught up under some debris and every lake has debris and hidden bed pockets in them.

There is a reason they are focused on that lake. And yes there is a dam there and the area where the cadaver dogs hit was at the dam if I'm not mistaken. There has been much debate about whether or not scent dogs (not cadaver dogs) were used and from what I read yesterday, yes tracking bloodhounds were brought in. They keep going back to that lake for a reason. Remember they are probably not releasing every bit of info they have to us-Joe public.
