I also believe there were two searches being planned for Saturday. One was the family friend who was organizing a search of the terrain around the lake in which she was calling for volunteers with hiking experience and then the other that was announced by LE for Florida Rd. Not sure if the family friend has called off the search she was organizing to allow for more volunteers to participate in the LE search.

It is my understanding that he texted his Mom first at 7:06. It was his Dad who said he was texting back and forth with his friends trying to make arrangements. I don't know if this was confirmed by the friends?

Ok. Found this. It doesn't specifically say he texted, but Dylan was in touch with his friends:

If Dylan and his friends are anything like my kids, they probably communicated through text. I don't think my kids ever actually call anyone!

I wonder if searches have searched some of the smaller bodies of water that appear to follow the Florida Road to Vallecito Reservoir route...

I see a lake near a golf course and some sort of small body of water near a subdivision called Florida River Estates as well as the river itself. Lots of terrain, small roads, etc.

It seems like a pretty big area they will be trying to search. :(

do we know if it was a message to the friend or was it to the parents of the friend where he was going to stay?

I believe the friends are saying that he texted them .. I would think that meant them personally, but don't believe it's been specified.

I also thought that if it were MR texting, why in the heck would he say Dylan would be there in the morning? Why not give himself more time and say that he can't be there until the next eveing??

Just a thought.

imo

I think I read on fb last night that the lake area search has been called off.. imo

I thought this too and ran it past my DD15. She said it wouldn't fly. Texting can be a recognizable as voice. She said she can tell if one of her girlfriends hands her phone to another friend when they are texting. Sometimes she can even tell WHO she handed it to based on the style of texting ...

Who knew??

imo

I can imitate my 13 yr old dd's texting style. I did it to her best friend one night (and then told her right away)

Of course, I can also sound so much like her, (without trying to) that when her friends call, they think I'm her.

Also the only text information we have heard about is from ER on NG. And she only confirmed the text to herself and the time. It's unlikely that LE have given her much information regarding the cell phone activity so she may not know any more than what we know about it other than what she herself received. LE have released no information on any of the other texts that Dylan either sent or received during the time frame of about 6pm to 8pm. There is likely several, we just haven't heard of them.

But you also live with your DD13? And you get texts from her?? and you know her texting style??

MR .. maybe not so much.. ?

The Lemon Reservoir (Point D on this Map) really does jump off the map when we look at in terms of the Florida Road search (points B - C)... might be worth walking a few dogs around the Lemon Reservoir and maybe assigning a search party as well...

Instead of turning back East down CR 240 toward Vallecito, MR could have continued right on up CR 243 the 2 miles straight to the Lemon Reservoir.

I have stepped back some and tried to think of other things I havent thought about before and I came up with this.

Which side of the family would have more of a motive for Dylan to disappear at Mark Redwine's home?

Mark Redwine had won in court his right to see his son over the Thanksgiving holidays. If this is about motive and anger then which side of Dylan's family would be the most upset/angry with the Judge's decision?

I see no reason for Mr. Redwine to harm his child that he had fought for in court to be able to see.

I can see someone though in Dylan's other family being highly pissed about it. Maybe someone who cant be controlled with reasoning and can be a loose cannon at times.

No one has been ruled out......there may be a very valid reason for that, imo.

I totally agree but would parents allow them? I don't think I would. JMO

No one was carding teens. They were out there searching. Some with an adult and some not.

So it looks like the family friend is going to utilize the people she was able to find for searching in the LE search. Very good idea.

Very good post! We're sure Dylan had no checked baggage? And yes I'm sure LE has pinged his phone until it died.

I believe he only had his backpack which would be counted as carry on luggage.

Seriously?

He "fought" to see... Or was it just another reason to drag his ex back to court? And Dylan was far less thrilled about being there.

Sorry! I should have added a note. It sounds to me like they are all going with LE's search rather than doing the Lake.

I've never seen a case where anger over visitation (on the custodial parent's part) has ever culminated in rage and/or murder. I have seen it happen on the non-custodial parent's part, and often it happens during the visitation.

If they drive or fly to the CP's house, they have too much time they cannot account for (in the cases where the parents don't live near each other) so, it has to happen during the visit.

I don't think anyone in the family would have a motive for Dylan to disappear. I don't think anyone in the family wanted anything more than for him to spend an enjoyable week with his father and friends and return home safely. But this visit fell on the heels of some very tumultuous years and events. It is also right after two separate court proceedings where in at least one that we've heard, Dylan made statements. This would be the first time MR would have had the chance to speak to him about those statements as well. I'm not sure this visit turned out to be as much of a happy reunion between father and son as I'm sure all of the family, including MR, hoped it would be.
