I need your help. lol Tricia has been swamped with other duties and cases recently and she has not had a chance to familiarize herself with all the facts concerning Dylan's case. And though I've been reading and feel pretty much up to date, I don't trust myself as well as many of you who have kept up since the very beginning.

The last half-hour of Tricia's radio show tonight will be dedicated to Dylan's case. Marc Klass will be joining her on that discussion. I need to provide a synopsis so Tricia will be up-to-date and can ask Marc for his input/opinions on the most pertinent matters. Don't post your questions for Tricia & Mark here - We will do that later and much closer to show time. However, you can help me with the following:

Is Mysticrose's timeline (linked here) pretty much up to date? Is there anything that needs to be added? For instance, I know Dylan called his mom after he landed at the airport, but I am not sure of the exact time of that last text.

Please let me know & post anything else that you guys feel is relevant and important that Tricia needs to be aware of before her interview. I need to put this together for her by 3:00p central time. I was on here all day & night yesterday and I have a few personal things I MUST take care of today, so I will be jumping in and out.

You guys are the BEST and I am SO appreciative of any help y'all can give me on this!


Also, I know of a poster who has done some excellent sleuthing on the properties that we have been confused about. I am going to let her post it herself. I think you guys will be very impressed and it will clear up a lot of the confusion.

I believe the sighting by the postal worker turned out to be a local boy who looks a lot like Dylan.

I read recently, but don't remember where, that the police were actually contacted about 5:00, right after his mother was.

I was thinking this morning about writing another one of my outlines, this time about exactly what I can find that MR has said (only about Dylan and what happened). If you think it might be useful, I can try to have it done soon.

Their was a couple of articles that said the boy the neighbor thought was Dylan was actually a boy who looked similar and lived in the community. Link is in the media thread.

Family members DID search. All searcher groups had an LE "type" with them while searching that registered at the meeting spot.

It would be very hard to keep a 13 year old hidden. I don't see how a relative could accomplish that. 13 year old wants to communicate with his friends, etc.
In cases of kidnapping by a stranger, the children are usually younger and then they are terrorized to keep them in line.

REDWINE: He texted me at about 7:06 on Sunday night and told me that he had landed and his dad had picked him up. He basically said -- I said, Did your dad get you, son? And he said, yes.

It appears that Dylan replied to ER's text asking if he had been picked up. Hard to say, though-it can be interpreted different ways. At any rate, ER places it at 7:06.

Three weeks ago today Elaine put her baby on a plane to his father and never saw him again. I just can't fathom how that happened or the hell she must be living in because of it. I remember sending my oldest off for visits with his dad. I knew I was going to get him back in need of a nap, a bath and a meal that didn't come from a drive thru window but I never had any doubts that I would get him back. That's the way it is supposed to work. You send your child off to a parent that loves them, misses them and spoils them rotten for the short time they have them then they return a happy, perhaps cranky child to you. What went wrong here?

It should be unthinkable that MR did something to his own child but sadly it isn't. We see it time and time again here. And it isn't just fathers that would rather kill their children than see their ex's happily move on with their lives. There is a break down in our culture that the system is failing to catch or address. It can't be allowed to continue.

In this case, if the reports are true then the warning signs were there. MR had a history of violence and at least one of his children was involved. Dylan, at 13 was expressing a desire to skip forced visits. The constant court proceedings should have been a huge red flag for control issues on one side and that alone should have triggered an investigation. Dylan was failed and now he is missing. Somebody is responsible for that and they need to be held accountable now.

Where is that precious child?

I don't believe Dad has Dylan hidden; the troubling part for me, though, is that it is so much more likely that whatever happened to Dylan has parental involvement than a stranger abduction (IMO) so it leaves very few alternatives, if not hidden.

Yes, stranger abductions happen, even from homes, but usually from a home where the child is known to live and when the timing is right. It seems far too coincidental to me that the very first day Dylan is in town in months, he is...gone.

You know what,,,,,,,,, that is so sad. I don't know who did what. I don't know who drank too much or slept with the wrong person or took a swing at the wrong person. Those things may indicate something is amiss, may even help LE zero in on a perp. But there is NOTHING ANYWHERE to suggest that Elaine Redwine did not love her baby and expect him to come home , nothing . For that my heart breaks, mother to mother.

But if you go back and look especially the cases here on Websleuths most of the unsolved are cases where the person or child was last seen with a loved one or had an argumant with someone close to them. They are usually cases of Moms with their children and the child goes missing and they say someone came in and took the child or they were at the playgound and someone took her or him then we have husbands that fight or are unhappy with the wife and that woman is never seen or found.

As I see it the cases where a stranger did it are the ones where the victims are found. Loved ones hide the bodies better Strangers dont go to all the trouble.
Most found in the woods off the road.

Good points, Eileen! Maybe family member perps are more careful about hiding their crimes than serial perps. Food for thought.

You know what we need? A mathematician or statistician. Statistically all things point to a 'known adult' involvement. If we could look at the last year's data and determine how many stranger abductions vs. parental or known adult abductions, we would have our answer! Unfortunately I m unable to determine how many heads/ tails you get when you flip a coin 10 times so I cannot do it, but the answers may lie in math !
Anyone up for that ? I wonder if LE does anything like stats or odds ?

Should've mentioned in my previous post that ER specifically refuted that there was a phone call.

MR had just come into town on the Saturday for this visit himself. We have no indication of how long he was gone prior to the visit. I would imagine he'd have to stock up on some groceries for both himself and Dylan. When did he do this? I'm assuming there was milk in the bowl of cereal but I don't know. If he had been gone for any length of time prior to the visit he'd at least have had to buy that. So it's possible that if MR did not get groceries the day before, that he bought them at the Walmart because it was the only place open on a Sunday night? Perhaps he waited until Dylan was there to go grocery shopping so that he could pick out items that he liked and wanted?

I wonder if anyone can pinpoint a time when there was activity at the house on the Sunday night. Lights on, truck in driveway. Someone carrying in purchases. People talking. There are neighbours around MR's house. I wonder if anyone noticed anything.

6:00-6:30pm - Dylan was picked up by his father at Durango-La Plata County Airport.
- Dylan texts Mom that he landed and was met by Dad. Text includes "scowl" emoticon. (I believe it was at 7:06 pm
-Dylan and Dad grocery shop on way home and plan Thanksgiving dinner.
approx 8:00pm - Last phone activity
-Dylan originally planned to go to visit friends in Bayfield Sunday night, but MR said he had to wait until Mon. Dylan texts or calls friends and makes plans to see them at 6:30am in Bayfield. This is presumably before 8PM Sunday because that is when his phone is shut off or stops pinging

Monday, Nov 19
6:30am-Dylan has plans to visit friends. It is expected that his father will drive him. Dylan never arrives.. Visit was originally scheduled for Sunday evening but nothing was "etched in stone".
7:30am - Dad tries to wake Dylan but he was "out like a light" MR later said that Dylan acknowledged every thing he said to him
7:30am - Dad leaves to run errands and visit his divorce lawyer.
11:30 - Dad returns home and Dylan is not there. His black Hurley backpack is missing. Cell phone, charger and "various other items" are also missing.
? - Dad went to home Dylan had planned to visit looking for him R.N. called and texted Dylan all day but did not get a reply.MR first went to a friend of Dylan's in Vallecito to see if he was there. He then went to the house(s) of Dylan's friends in Bayfield to see if he was there
4:30-5:00 - Dylan is reported missing by his father after he can not locate him.
5:30 - Mom heads to Vallecito after being notified that Dylan is missing.
? -A resident who knows Dylan reported seeing him walking along County Road 501 in Vallecito Monday afternoon with another boy about the same age. Both had backpacks.

Tuesday, Nov 20
? - "Two rescue workers said they possibly saw him on separate occasions Tuesday afternoon, but he fled into the forest. Bender said Wednesday one of the sightings turned out to be a jogger; the second may have been the same jogger or Dylan."
