Off the cuff maybe
What is the date ER filed for divorce?
What is the anniversary date of the finalization of divorce?
I recall they were divorced in 2007. Dylans missing is 5 years later.

Question:

If MR didn't pass the lie detector, would LE have told ER? I'm thinking no, because if he's under investigation they probably don't want him knowing that they are onto him, and telling her would introduce a risk that word would eventually get to MR.

Actually, NG said to ER:
Didn't you tell my producers that MR didn't pass?

It seemed to me that she may have told them that prior to the show, had since thought better of it, and was trying to backpedal. She may have told them that MR failed, only to find out that "inconclusive" doesn't mean "failed" and was trying to take it back without copping to it.
imo

can you provide a link to that please

what are peoples opinions about NG? does she lie for the sake of being sensational. ie the tweet that appeared and quickly disappeared before the show?

She could have asked him personally. Also, LE pretty much can do whatever it is they want. Considering they are even allowed to lie.

Why would he tell her that he didn't pass the lie detector?

I have no clue. But they do appear to have had a pretty messed up relationship, don't you think?

That right there is one of the first things that set off alarm bells in my head. I know some think LE searched the lake because MR was talking about the fishing pole. I still think it was the other way around. LE started searching the lake and MR said that as a CYA for what he was afraid LE would/will find. moo

Of course, I could be, and in fact I hope I am wrong. I really want Dylan safe and sound. I really really don't want parents involved if he's not. But I can't ignore what my instincts tell me might have happened.

Could be!! I'd be curious to know if when they were searching the lake is when MR said that Dylan probably hitch hiked and/or "was probably not in the area anymore" diverting LE attention elsewhere.

GRACE: Elaine, when you were speaking earlier to our producers, you mentioned it was your understanding that he had failed a polygraph.

REDWINE: No, I didn`t say he had failed the polygraph.

Worth reading since this is also where she says that (a) he hadn't taken the polygraph yet; (b) that she wasn't sure if he had taken it; (c) that he failed (possibly to the producers); (d) that it was inconclusive.

That would be an understatement!

I doubt MR would have said anything though. ER has complained that he hasn't talked to her, and (I think) by this point ER had already given the interview where she said she was afraid that MR hurt Dylan. I can't imagine he'd tell her. And that's assuming LE told *him* that he failed.

I'm not sure on the dates you requested

but the last court action was in November, we do not know what that was about, prior to that they were in court in September and custody was changed from joint to Elaine.

was the september court date before or after Dylans visit with his Dad that month?

ETA: I see PaulR provided the link.

While NG may be overly dramatic, I don't think she tells outright lies just to sensationalize a story. If I recall, NG asked ER about MR's failed LDT, and ER answered that she didn't know anything about that. That is when NG questioned what ER had told producers. When ER wasn't forthcoming, NG didn't press her on that particular point.

My view on the tweet: The NG show tweeted about the failed poly to drum up interest in the show, and then deleted it when ER denied it during the course of filming.

The Nancy Grace transcript is here

This is the section in question - lots of backflipping within:

Elaine, you have taken and passed a police polygraph, is that correct?

REDWINE: Yes.

GRACE: And what kind of questions did they ask you?

REDWINE: You know, just basic questions, just trying to see if I was a good candidate for the polygraph.

GRACE: What do you know about the father`s polygraph?

REDWINE: You know, I don`t know much. I know that, you know, everyone is encouraging him to take that. So hopefully, he will do that soon so we can get him out of the picture, and you know, focus on where Dylan is.

GRACE: Has the father taken a polygraph?

REDWINE: You know, I`m not sure. I know he`s been asked to.

GRACE: Do you know if he took it?

REDWINE: I do not at this time, no.

GRACE: Is it your understanding that he`s failed a polygraph?

REDWINE: No, I don`t think he failed a polygraph. You know, I don`t know the specifics behind that. I don`t think he necessarily failed. But you know, I don`t have any information on that. So it`s real -- it`s real tough for me to answer that question.

GRACE: Elaine, when you were speaking earlier to our producers, you mentioned it was your understanding that he had failed a polygraph.

REDWINE: No, I didn`t say he had failed the polygraph.

GRACE: OK. Good. I`m glad you can clarify that. So what is your understanding, then?

REDWINE: I think it was inconclusive.

GRACE: Is he being asked to take another?

REDWINE: I believe so, yes, he is.

The court date was after.

The transcript for that show is in an earlier thread. I don't remember the date of the show right now. When I have time, I'll look for it.

While NG may be overly dramatic, I don't think she tells outright lies just to sensationalize a story. If I recall, NG asked ER about MR's failed LDT, and ER answered that she didn't know anything about that. That is when NG questioned what ER had told producers. When I read that part of the transcript, my first thought was - I wonder how long it'll be before she invites her back! :waitasec:

What is the date the divorce was final?
Thanks for thinking about this.

I know a lot of people have made comments about how much MR obviously cares about Dylan because he was willing to spend the money and time to continue to battle for custody and/or visitation for all these years. I hate to say this, but for some it becomes all about winning the fight and not so much about caring about the child. I'm not saying this is the case here, but the thought has crossed my mind.

This is one of the toughest things child advocates have to deal with in family court. There is a gender bias where fathers who are involved at any level are automatically considered better than average, while mothers are held to a much higher standard. It's actually pretty common in a family with a history of DV for the violent parent to keep wanting to drag out litigation and go back to court over and over again. It has to do with the power and control dynamic involved in family violence and the abuser's sense of entitlement - his belief that his victim(s) do not have the right to just move on with their lives.

I've got links a-plenty of research on the topic if anyone is interested. Here's one good one: http://leadershipcouncil.org/docs/ABA_custody_myths.pdf

I don't know what happened in this situation - but you're totally right.
The assumption that a parent who is very active in court must be doing it because they love their kids is what keeps a lot of kids trapped in abusive situations.

How do we know what cadaver dogs did or didn't do in truck or home? Police never said anything about that, as far as I know.

I think that's what most of us are saying. That we are waiting to cast stones until we hear something substantial and conclusive, such as the above. Since we haven't heard that yet, how can we come to the conclusion that the father is guilty? The decision would be made on what basis?

Until we know we remain in the considering all options category. I don't even consider it fence sitting, as that implies I am between sides. I, for one, don't consider sides an option without any available science to reference. It's like trying to choose between two products with nothing more than the name.
