If Dylan never made it to the house along with the phone & his backback, yet his ipod did?

Why didn't Dylan take it with him? Maybe he didn't plan to use it with his friends?

Wonder if it is MR's?

It's possible it isn't Dylan's ipod at all, or could be an old one. My dad has two of my sister's old iPods and neither of us have lived in his house for over two years now.

WTH is going on in this case?? I am losing patience (if anyone cares) as there are far too many cases already where LE remained tight-lipped and the child's case faded into oblivion with the occasional feeble "we will search if new evidence arises" bit. The most recent case where LE was visible and communicative with the public resulted in the location of Jessica R. as well as the arrest of the suspect in a matter of weeks. In the same state. Do LE agencies learn nothing from one another? I am losing it, I know...

He would have had no excuse to wait until late in the day to notify everyone that Dylan was missing if he had said he was gone when he got up. Leaving Dylan "asleep on the couch "would buy time. Also puts distance between MR and Dylan at the time he went missing.

MOO

I agree with posters saying that MR would have to have called DR missing earlier if he claimed that DR was taken in the night...

But princess has a good idea that could explain away the puzzle of why DR didn't text friends... Or anyone... In the a.m....

Bloodhounds

La Plata County Search and Rescue members searched for Redwine Monday night in areas of County Road 500. Residents who have expressed an interest in assisting are being asked to search their properties and areas of Vallecito they are familiar with, Bender said.

Monday night is NOV. 19

and here

Members of La Plata County Search & Rescue team using bloodhounds searched for the teen Monday night and Tuesday. The search area included the shoreline around Vallecito Lake, several small subdivisions, county roads, steep wooded hillsides and hiking trails. Many of the homes in the area are seasonal while some are occupied year around.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Dylan`s family was asked to bring more of his clothes by investigators so the dogs could pick up a better scent.

I don't remember ever seeing them say that they had no scent items in the beginning; all I remember is that they said they had no clean scent items. I really don't know how important it is depending on the type of dog used, but I'm sure a clean scent would give a much better chance of tracking/trailing. MOO

But I'd like confirmation that MR did provide scent items. Because ER asked why MR could not do that.

I AM SO CONFUSED!

Why do I think the Ipod isn't Dylan's... (but LE thought it was) until they discovered it was not???

I am not saying that the dad said who the Ipod belonged to... just that for whatever reason LE thought it belonged to Dylan and it was the father's after all....

I NEED to look back at links...
I remember a quote about a cereal bowl and Nickelodeon on the TV... I Don't remember if my son and his friends were still watching Nicklodeon at 13...
not in the morning... from what I recall the morning line up is intended for a much younger viewing audience....

Then again if Dylan had been watching Nick at Night... maybe he never turned the TV off... and it was still on the next morning ...
I just sense something hinky there

Now I have a question... why would Dylan pull clothes out of his backpack if he wasn't going to wear them?

I wonder if they look into stuff like that. The schedule of what was on and was it anything Dylan would of watched and so on.

More clothes for a better scent to me does not imply "Dad had nothing to give them" or "Dad refused to give them anything"
Like our dog experts said, sometimes dog handlers want specific items or the best scent items possible which is what I think happened in this case. I can easily see how that was misunderstood by ER to mean that Dad didn't have ANY scent items when that wasn't the case.

I believe the only links you'll find to anybody saying that the ipod was not Dylan's will be those leading to Websleuths. I haven't seen anyone official say that it did or didn't belong to him.

I agree with the viewing audience being younger children. I looked up the scheduling for Nickelodean on Monday and it was Sponge Bob, then some other show I can't remember, then Dora the Explorer.

I can't see a 13 yo being a big fan of any of them.

My son still watches it, as well as my daughters, all older than 13, as they now have more grown up shows for teens, plus they all like sponge bob(BLAH).

I don't remember seeing anything saying it wasn't his ipod....if you find it, would love to see the link. If it was his, that leads me to believe he didn't walk away on his own at all....not even to fish, or go to his friends....any child that listens to ipod and has nothing but the sound of his own voice to listen to(like walking, sitting, or whatever)will not leave without ipod(JMO). If he brought it to dads he would use it.

ITA. I'm not sure if ER's statement was because of personal knowledge or a misunderstanding. I wish that source was identified. It would be nice to clear that off the list.

The only one I can see is Sponge Bob. Only because if you have ever watched Sponge Bob they have a lot of hidden adult humor, and I know a lot of teenage boys (and girls) watch that. That is about the only one that age would watch IMO.
