Money Girl, you think like me. I've thought of these things and got asked why Dylan would go to a mine or be around an open well. I never got anyone interested in discussing these things.

For me, I don't know if there are any mines around there or not, but I was thinking if he went exploring in an area where he knew there was a mine and got stuck, that could be why he disappeared.

Or if he walked in an area that had a well covered by ground cover and he didn't see it, and stepped onto it, he could have gone down a well.

That's why I think it's important for LE to keep an open mind and consider these things because if Dylan did one of these things, it is of the essence and he needs to be found.

Add me to your way of thinking. Earlier today I wrote a post describing these very things - mineshaft, well, ravine and the like. An accident. It seems to me the backpack and cell phone are where Dylan is. My thinking is along the lines of no clues, nothing found in the searches, and no sightings of Dylan Monday morning away from the house. This is a real perplexing case IF everyone involved is telling the truth. Otherwise... It's difficult to go there for me.

Here's something that came to mind, in earlier articles (can't find which one) it was mentioned that clothing had to be brought from Colo Spgs. for the search dogs.

"The next morning, Dylan was sleeping on the couch where Mark Redwine now sits and where Dylan's blankets still lie jumbled. Mark said he waited until 7:30 a.m. but still couldn't rouse his son, so he told him he would return about 11. When he got back at 11:30, his son's dirty cereal bowl was beside the sink. The television was on Nickelodeon. His son's fishing pole was gone. So was his black-and-gray backpack. A few articles of clothing were left behind on the couch" (this was from Denver Post article 12/02/12 forgive me I'm learning how to do all this posting)

Why couldn't a scent be obtained from the couch, the sheets or the clothing left behind? Obviously those items weren't taken into evidence, the interview was after the 2nd search. Would his scent be on the sheets if he slept on or over them all night?

Also- theoretically if time missing is while he is on errands, then he has created alibi.

But it begs the question- if he is conspiring and making up a story, isn't he likely say DR stayed up late watching TV and HE went to bed early, rather than saying DR went to bed early and slept in? It would have been much more intuitive for about 99% of the population. Who thinks up "kid went to bed way early AND slept in"?

Neither of these represent my beliefs, only random ponderings.

But he would have had to explain the non-usage of phone.

Even if the crime lab put a rush on the results, some of these tests need to be cultured or whatever and takes time for results to develop. It's like some of the toxology tests just take months and months for all the testing to be completed. I learned that on Dr. G, Medical Examiner. ;)

Has LE said they were waiting on any kind of tox reports or anything from evidence they removed from MR's home. I haven't heard that they even removed anything or if they did what it was. Another one of those 'close to the vest' things I guess. :waitasec: jmo

 I was so upset!!!! I had a nice answer all typed out and then lost internet service. After :banghead: for a while, I did what any frustrated young lady :innocent: would do, I took the fence I'm sitting on and rode it to the closest store and picked up some powered donuts.

Now that I've consumed almost the whole bag not only do I feel better my internet's back up...:skip: Ahhhhhhhhh :needdrink:

Please excuse my off topic post but I just had to share.:dramaqueen:

I do recall LE saying that they would not be releasing anything about the search or what was taken, etc. until the case is "over" or something to that effect. So I guess we will only know if they learned anything by watching what they do and not expecting them to say anything.

i have been thinking of the statements made from the friends he was supposed to meet up with with. Their fist suggestion was Dylan was known to hitch rides which I don't think Dad was aware of..

also, in the news more and more lately, I have been reading about kids killing kids... What of Dylan attempted to hitch a ride with a teenager who harmed him?

And another thing I have been thinking of is maybe Dad has a bad friend that knew Dylan was there that morning alone?

do you think Dads mentioned between 7.30 and 11am to one of his friends that Dylans home alone? and the friends gone and grabbed him? or that the bad friend has called in and thought hello opportunity here

It has been discussed before that not only was DR's scent on them but so were other peoples that perhaps had used the blanket or sat on the couch. It was not a clear scent from DR. jmo

I think completely different. I would think taking off then would be much more easy to explain. Plus if it was MR, he would take the abduction route anyway wouldn't he? What other explanation would there be?

I don't think I'm understanding what you are saying exactly. Do you mean if MR is guilty he would be pushing the abduction theory?

I think if MR is guilty, he did everything "right" EXCEPT cut off the phone so early. As someone said above, if he had just sent a few texts to make it appear Dylan was alive and communicating after he left the house then we would all be putting a lot more thought into lost, injured, abducted from side of the road scenarios.

BBM: Like the Autumn Pasquale case where two boys murdered her for her BMX bike for parts. They were 15 and 17 years old. Unbelievable.

Honestly I think it was to cover all the bases for the "what if" scenarios. IE: If he never made it there Sunday night then his scent wouldn't be there. To be sure they truly had his scent they had the mother provide things that would be covered in his scent from home. MOO

Well, just for one night, could we ALL discuss possibilities of things that might have happened to DR without including rehashed discussions of MR or ER? Surely, between all of us, we could come up with other viable possibilities.

Dylan wakes up, turns on tv, eats a bowl of cereal, picks up his backpack and grabs his fishing rod and starts walking. Someone comes along, gives him a ride, poof no more Dylan.

I personally cannot rule that out in my mind yet.

Since there aren't any other roads out of the neighborhood, someone might have seen his truck leaving at 7:30, and he was alone, so they figured Dylan was back at the house.

It is possible that a sexual predator that he met online could have provided him one.

Thanks for your reply and that absolutely is a possibility..with the FBI involved I would presume a very thorough forensic search is being done on any and all electronic communications that Dylan had with anyone.. He from what little we have found in sleuthing Dylan's online presence doesn't seem to be heavily communicating via the social media sites we've seen..and what I mean by heavy and regular use is for instance what we see in some of the other missing teenager cases that we've followed there is a very big, wide ranging online presence seen for many of them with the main sites being Facebook, twitter, tumblr, and gaming handles and sites..just to name some of the more current and/or popular ones..

as in Sierra Lamar's case she was extremely, heavily involved in communicating via these social media sites and we found had hundreds of "friends" and people with whom she regularly had contact and convos with(a good amount we sleuthed and found to be pretty much strangers only known from their crossing paths online).. her case IMO really had some of the markings of a very good possibility of being targeted by someone she had crossed paths via online..

So, when I say from what we have searched and sleuthed out on Dylan I just don't see the chances being very great of his being targeted via online chats and communications..but of course just cause my opinion is that the chances aren't that great does not in any way equate that the perp in this case is NOT an online predator..I am just merely explaining why it is that I have this particular opinion..

From what I can tell actually Dylan is just a tad bit younger than the teens we've seen that have been heavily immersed with an online presence(again not saying there aren't 13yr olds who are extremely immersed and have large online presences).. just that from many of the teen cases we've seen that they tend to be just a little older than Dylan(Sierra LaMar was 15yoa)..

IMO when I say that Dylan's main source of communicating with friends and fam was via electronic communication what I am referring to is via cell phone text/SMS..at the onset I believed it possibly that he was more involved online, but after really digging and sleuthing..as well as learning what we have from his fam and friends my opinion is that the MAIN EXTENT of electronic communication for Dylan was via his cell phone texting..we also learned that he did not have internet access via his cell phone which imo is a huge factor in whether a teen is moderately to heavily active on the www..with Dylan imo it was mostly texting with some interest in FB, but more so than anything his FB even wasn't for chatting and meeting people but rather playing some of the FB games..

moo is just as mom said that the plan was for Dylan to be getting a smartphone for Christmas IMO that would have been when he began to really get more involved via social media sites and with an online presence in general..moo is he was right there on the cusp of getting into more involvement online..jmo, tho..

Sexual predator is a possibility and IMO likely one of the very first avenues FBI searched which would have involved locating any/all convos and/or chats Dylan had engaged in online..

jmo,tho..

LOL I knew I was suppose to be looking at terrain so it took me a minute to realize there was a fox in the scene.

Maybe it was a "snow fox"?

Thanks that makes it sense, thank you very much!

But he knew his dad was coming back at 11 to give him a ride. Why doesn't he leave him a note, or a message?

maybe, they would have to know that he was flying in and that his plans had changed for sunday night

I was watching the fox so closely that I had to atch a second time just to notice the view. :blushing: Not any place I want to go hiking.

lol. Ok. If not hiking, how about we all meet in Durango, sleuth all over the place and then head over to the little town of Silverton, Co ... it's about 50 miles away. We can can go skijoring. I'll bring the horses.
