at 3 mins 19 secs MR goes to break down and it looks like he may cry but he completes switches it around and becomes calm again at 3.21 mins. I think that is a pretty quick change to go from. Its like a light switch going of and on IMO.

Wow someone brought this up on The missing page, I went to listen to the uncut interveiw, and they are right, He says it, when referring to Dylan.

IMO he is just stumbling over his words - MR clearly says "he" initially, and to imply that he is intentionally referring to Dylan as "it" is a huge reach.

Taking a look back, can anyone remember when MR said that he had money set aside for Dylan's college? I can't find that. IMO it's odd that in his memory he is FOTY but no confirmation from anyone. Besides, I know that many colleges offer free tuition to dependants of employees so I would imagine that ER has that covered.

TIA

I think that was on Sunday and there was a new article out and it was when Ryan's text was also shown i think ?

I don't remember actually hearing anything where he said it. I think it was on a printed news story. I'll look for the link.

Here you go:

Although it isn't a direct quote from MR, it was reported...
I agree about the college reimbursement - I put my 3 through college because my employer paid for it (university).

Article Dated: December 20th, 2012 - Durango Herald

Dylan hadn’t talked much about what he wants to be when he grows up. He tossed around the idea of joining the army after high school.

His dad wants him to go to college and has saved money to pay for it.

“I don’t have a college education, and I see how hard it is for me to make ends meet,” said Mark, who works at United Pipeline Systems. He wants more for Dylan, he said."

One simple question that I have been thinking of over and over...Was it normal for Dylan to wear the same cloths from one day to the next? Seems as though they are confident enough about the clothing he was wearing to put the info on his missing flyer, but is this normal for him? I am aware that he would get ready the evening before, but would he wear the same clothing 2 days in a row?

Thank you and I agree, the colleges offer courses as a benefit to employees and qualified dependents.

AZGrandma,
Has MR and/or any of the boys ever gone hunting (i.e. alone or together)?
Thanks

That is true, but Dylan is 13. Does anyone really feel so safe in their job these days to bank on having that benefit in 5 years? I know I wouldn't.

:truce:

Does anyone remember the spectacle of Susan Smith pleading on national TV so desperately for the return of her babies?
Just moo, but I think many times the different ways parents respond to a tragedy like this may be gender based. Not trying to generalize or be sexist at all, but women and men have both natural and cultural ways of processing and providing info that are just not going to be the same in any given situation. And then throw in the fact that we humans are all individuals anyway, and you wind up with the potential for literally a vast spectrum of personal responses.
So I just don't think a lack of pleading on MRs part means anything at all.
I also think that because there is such a scarcity of evidence here that we may tend to way overthink things and infer far too much significance to the smallest nuances of behaviors and verbalizations in our efforts to resolve this sad and VERY frustrating case. It is almost as if Dylan has just vanished into a void! I pray for some small shred of evidence to come to light soon.

Very well said!!! And very true.

We have pondered the same question here. I guess Mom would be the only one who would really know. She hasn't stated anything on this topic. IIRC.

My 12 year old showers every night on school nights so he can get up, get dressed and go. On the weekends, he very well may wear the same close he wore the night before, unless he has a baseball game, in which he would shower once he got home. I don't think it's a far reach for a kid (especially a boy) to wear the same clothes the next day. MOO

The questions I am speaking of, are questions many of us at WS asked before he stopped talking to MSM. Remember we were all talking of the fishing pole, and then he claims I don't know why they are just now going to the lake they knew from the beginning that he might of had his fishing pole. I could go from there, but I don't want to paraphrase alot of it, so would need links, and really don't have time for all that today.

:moo:

Yep, gotcha' now....like why did they wait to search his home and him saying something about the investigation being a week behind, etc. Thanks!

---

And definitely people from the FB page are reading here...and we are taking posts from there and running wild with them here :what::what: but I think everyone wants to know if Dylan made it to his dad's house Sunday night.

That's the great thing about WS, your opinion does count and can be voiced as long as it is VICTIM friendly!

My boys will do this (especially during holidays) unless I call them out on it. When I do - they get most indignant about how the clothes are still clean and why shouldn't they wear them again. And this will sometimes extend past 2 days in a row :/

I don't know about Dylan, but my how teenage boys tend to do the disgusting! lol. Witnessed it the other day with a 10 yo that wore the same clothes two days in a row! Uck!

He is incredible calm considering his son is missing. Look at the different reaction that Elaine has compared to MR .

I didn't see any real pain or anguish on Mark's face during this interview and he is not grieving imo.

I agree, I do have to point out though that threwout his interviews with MSM he has said things like "the boy" as well as "that boy", he has also made statements to LE in the very beginning, where LE quotes him as saying "the boy was not there when he got home"

I have 3 grown children, 2 of them boys. One very meticulous and the other not. I was just questioning if this would be Dylan's norm. Just wondering out loud :escape:

My husband is a fully tenured professor, so he feels *pretty* confident. But yeah, I think many people are unsure of their future.

I would for sure think Elaine would be the same, as it seems she just left this area because of the uncertain future at her job...
