Is it okay on this forum to post my opinion about MR's La Plata County public real estate records?

There's a July 15, 2011 lien by Restorat*on Serv*ces, which I assume was in response to MR's "kitchen fire." Then an October 5, 2011 Notice of Action in District Court for non-payment and continuation of seeking payment. It is not settled as there is no release of lien.

I don't know how homeowner policies pay for coverage but don't they write a check to the claimant and assume the claimant pays the contractor? Why is this contractor for what I assume is the "kitchen fire" seeking restitution for $64,451.87? Did MR refuse to pay the repairers after he got an insurance check?

It seems like a pattern of getting out of payments and thus it appears........a pattern...........

65k is quite an impressive kitchen fire in a home that looks like...... it would not have a 65k kitchen in it. There must have been much more damage to the home if that is the figure .

Well when you slap a MOO or JMO, it's all good, right?

If you think something breaks the rules, it should probably be reported.

If it doesn't break the rules and it's bothersome, scroll and roll... (I think that's the phrase).

Maybe he didn't have insurance or the insurance company is still investigating the fire and hasn't settled with him yet?

who the heck is that KV guy on the FB page.....he is blowing the page up with posts. It seems someone told him to join WS....I don't know if he is local or what.........

did the fire happen at his current address?

I don't see why not. He's been accused of everything from being an alcoholic, murderer, dv, drugs....

Well a couple of those can be fairly well confirmed by records we have of his previous run-ins with the law.

All I know is that something happened to his child within hours of Dylan's arrival. MR last saw Dylan at 7:30 on Monday morning but didn't report him missing until that night. That is not good...whether we are talking about this case or any other.

Nothing against MR personally, since I don't know him.

IIRC no, it was at his old house, the one he and ER shared. I don't have a link at my fingertips but that's what I recall reading.

I would too. I'd want everyone out there to know what my kid looks like so if they see him/her, they'd realize they need help and go to their aid, and help to get them back home. I wouldn't expect their abductor to return them. I never understood that plea, when a child is kidnapped, to ask the perp for their return, cuz chances are, they aren't listening to TV on the station you are on at the time or later when it airs. And if they were heartless enough to kidnap a child, they wouldn't find a heart to bring them back. And if they are dead, they certainly wouldn't have them to bring back. JMO

I'm pretty sure I couldn't help myself. I'd beg for my child back.

I remember when Desiree threw herself on the mercy of the one she suspected. She basically groveled, and I do not blame her one bit. I didn't think it would work, but, I don't blame her at all.

Oh wow. Awesome. Well I guess it will be interesting if he joins WS

The fact that someone wrote that letter, thought to themselves "oh yes, this sounds good, and people (many people) should read this... yes, I'm going to submit this as an open letter to the newspaper" -- and then actually submitted it is either very fascinating or disturbing. :what:

Oh yes, I completely agree. (which is why as an editor, I couldn't help but to publish it)

I wonder if MR has pledged the amount of Dylan's college fund he has saved up so far towards the total to help raise the reward money?

It will be most telling if there really is a "college fund" as well as the whole Boston vacation. And the fishing pole. I am starting to wonder if there isn't an alternate reality of Good Dad..... IMHO. Moo. JMHO.

I saw that too. Seems odd. I wonder does he know the family? There is a prayer the page owner posted that he wrote then all of a sudden comment after comment.....

My children have tried a couple times to drop their phones in order to get a new one. It never has worked as they still keep on working. We lost the iphone3 on/off button but the thing still works. No phone was smashed in the heat of an argument or thrown out a truck window, IMHO. There would be debris.

All of the records are public and here:
http://records.laplata.co.us/search/SearchTypeName

Does it take 1.5 years to settle an homeowners insurance claim?

BBM... maybe. I've only had to file claims twice and both times it took forever. The first one was a downed fence that was also a security/liability risk due to us having a pool - that one got paid within a few months. The other one, from a pipe bursting and flooding the kitchen, took forever and they denied about 2/3 of it. They weren't all that worried about us having to do dishes in the bathtub or cook most meals on the BBQ, apparently. Just my experience.

Just from my experience, I have yet to see a house fire, even a minor one, that resulted in only a little damage. I had a friend at work whose garbage can OUTSIDE the house caught fire. The house didn't even burn but the trash can was up against the house and the fire caused extensive smoke damage because it got up into his attic and sheetrock. I'm sure if he told someone he had a $75k "garbage can fire" they'd think he was nuts, but it was because they had to basically gut the house and replace all the sheetrock and furniture and such.

(as an aside, oh how I dream of a $65k kitchen... I'd even take half that amount ;) .. as long as it didn't involve my house or anything near it burning first)
