To be fair "if" Dylan is in the lake then a random person will not be able to find him for a cash reward .

It's going to take trained people to locate him .

Ok but it still helps if people search. For any kind of evidence of Dylan's belongings etc. Anything that can help.

I guess I could see a reward helping in this case, if it includes locating Dylan even if he is not alive. People might be encouraged by a large reward to do some searching.JMO

I posted this the other day and got all kinds of negative responses. I think it would motivate people to be constantly aware and do some searching. jmo

Maybe if there was a reward for finding the missing person/persons there would be more interest in even looking. In most cases the bodies are found accidentally. jmo

Does anyone know the details of the reward? What are the requirements for collecting it?

Dylan's reward includes information leading to his whereabouts.

they have searched it more than once in very cold and bad weather conditions.

something led them there.

I will not be surprised at all to see them resume after the spring thaw.:twocents:

That something was MR claiming fishing pole is missing and finding a broken pole.
Broken pole was not Dylan's.

Per the poster
http://www.durangolaplatacrimestoppers.org/Pictures/Reward Poster - Dylan Redwine 01-09-13.pdf

It looks like two separate pots of money are at stake: one to find the criminal and one to find Dylan. I imagine the $$$ put up by Dylan's family/friends (the larger portion of the reward) is to find him whereas the $$ out in by Crimestoppers (maybe 2,500 or so at this point) would be to identify and catch a suspect. Just my suspicions. FMDR FB page has always noted what they are putting up for the reward and what Crimestoppers is putting in. Not until I looked at the poster did it occur to me there might be separate strings attached. Right now, the reward for Dylan is almost as much as all the reward $$$ ever paid out by LaPlataCrimeStoppers. SIGH.

It's a huge lake/reservoir. It sounds like they only used the sonar and divers at the area in front of the dam. He could be anywhere else in that lake. I also wonder if there's any way a body could wash down further past the dam to the river below it?

I remember Sgt. Bender (I believe it was him) saying it was a 12 mile trip to go around the entire lake.

When I saw the two photo's of Dylon, I felt two things: at the airport Dylan looked tentative. In the Wallmart photo I felt he looked stricken.
I wish we could see the video of the walk around airport and around wallmart.
:what: Signing off for awhile and I want to say to Dylon's Mom how very sad I am for her. Praying for Dylon.
I have been reading these threads most of yesterday and last night, you people are awesome because you really care. Thank you!

Something I noticed was the change in posture. It could be due to tiredness, I suppose, but it was fairly early, and kids just go and go... Even though he had his hands in his pockets in both pictures (something I imagine is a habit for him) he seems so slumped down in the Walmart picture. It's like someone let the air out of his tire. (or someone sucked the joy out of him)

Okay, I see the reward wording does not say "for the safe return" so that should include anyone who finds his body by chance or by searching. I know that no one wants to put "dead or alive" on a reward offer, but I hope the vague wording would not prevent anyone who did happen to find his body from taking part in the reward.

Ahhh...I see it differently. To me, for the safe return, means very much alive. You are correct that it could be argued either way...probably on purpose.

For the safe return does mean alive. Dylan's reward does not say that.

It does not say that, it says leading to the location of Dylan, or something to that effect. If it said "safe return" then clearly, finding his body would not result in a reward.

:what: *doh*!!! I was wondering how Cluciano was getting that meant alive. Now I understand...I must have missed a word or two. *lol* :blushing:

I think they might have more luck if they made the reward payable for information leading to the location of Dylan.

Obviously, everyone wants him to be safe, but realistically, at this point, he just needs to be found.

It already is for information leading to his whereabouts. I presume that means either dead or alive.

Another MP found dead today from here at WS. I am so praying that Dylan is never added to the list, I'm praying he will be found alive and well somewhere. Sometimes we just need happy news around here.

"Information leading to the whereabouts or arrest of the person's involved in the following crime"

"information leading to Dylan's whereabouts or the arrest of person's involved in his disappearance"

IMO they are offering a reward to anyone that can lead them to where Dylan is, period. Or information leading to the arrest of the person's involved - regardless of whether or not Dylan is found, but an ARREST needs to be made.

I thought some of them said "arrest & conviction"

She was due on the 4th of this month, so 6 days ago and yes she is my first and is yet to be named :) All though I've called her stubborn the whole pregnancy because she has not co operated at all especially during scans.
(I'm very sorry for O/T everyone!)

I am so excited for you!

My son was a week late and only made his appearance then because the doctor issued an eviction notice. 21 years later and he's still late most of the time, but it's true: THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE WORTH WAITING FOR!!!
