Sadly, I feel that if Dylan is no longer with us and is found in the lake, the COD will be drowning probably with a blunt force injury. Someone wants it to look like a fishing accident. :furious:

That is why there would be no evidence found elsewhere. :moo:

I'm praying that the family is right and Dylan is being held. I want Dylan to come home! :please:

But how can accidental fishing-related drowning at the nearby reservoir explain no backpack on the bank? Unless it was at a different lake, and there is a backpack on the bank. Unfound as of yet. I google earthed Elaine's reservoir and it is a significant walk in. So I discarded that eerie thought. But I've always wondered how thorough the search was at Lemon Reservoir.

I feel like if LE has not said anything in recent days, and they have not, then they are not going to anytime soon. I have more of a feeling than ever that they are not treating this case as a stranger abduction JMO

ITA the backback would be on the shore. Isn't the Lemon Res. towards the west away from anything (not sure how many miles) and not heading towards town, the store or even his friend that lives near MR? IMO if he is found there, there is no logical reason other than foul play.

I'm pretty sure Lemon lake was part of the last big search. Will try to go find link.

I hope not because they have never held a press conference to warn the public!

Umm...I thought I said "Someone wants it to look like a fishing accident". As in staged... moo

ETA: A backpack full of wet clothes and other items left on the body would add weight. moo

In fact, they said the Sheriff's Office doesn't think there's a sex offender abducting kids. I'll add the link again in a second.

ETA: http://durangoherald.com/article/20121208/NEWS01/121209618/Volunteers-search-for-Dylan

Phippen wanted to reassure residents that the Sheriff’s Office “does not believe there is a sex offender abducting children” from the area.

What "area" does he mean? Only RSO or how about those NOT registered or (absconded) like these:

Not ALL SO stay 'home area'. IMO.

Jennifer's case is very interesting, but no new developments.

Don't schools many times send home flyers when a child has been approached by someone? An example would be wasn't there a school just over from where Jessica Ridgeway attended that the school sent a flyer home before she went missing but it was about boys IIRC? They also do when there are a number of rapes in an area. I get Boston news & there is a campus in that area where a number of rapes occurred (guessing about a year ago) that police were issuing warnings all the time.

I can't think of one missing child's case that I have followed say over the last few years, that has been a warning, however most of the cases I have followed are not yet solved and the parents are under suspicion. Maybe that is why there has been no warnings? I think a point can be made if police really feel Dylan was abducted by a stranger they may warn the public, especially if other boys for instance have had complaints or been approached by strangers. If this was the case, from the two FB sites, press and being a small town we would have HEARD all about it.

This is one of the few cases, too, where we have not heard of a rash of similar "abduction" attempts, which so often seem to spring up when a community is on edge.

You rock! I'm not familiar with either of those.

But these are not children. In other cases involving children, police have at the very least spoken put in PC's to the public.

Jessica R case was NOT a STRANGER DANGER alert put out by the local LE. She was taken by an unknown perp on the way to school. Didn't stop peeps from naming the dad that was supposed to take her/his son to school as THE perp. Somer Thompson was abducted by a creepy/neighbor. NO STRANGER DANGER went out there either. Didn't stop posters from blaming her sweet mom (Diena) or her good friend who was the baby sitter that day.....

NO ALERTS from LE in the above. LE alerts are very, very rare. Long time posters know this, IMO.
