and this article is interesting (snipped portion)

perhaps they need more tips from anyone who had seen them at the locations/times?

interesting that they've stated when the last text was sent but i haven't seen any indication of when the phone last pinged a cell tower. have they released that information?

Not much new. Cory is holding a rally Saturday in front of Mark's house. Mark isn't amused.

You know I've been thinking about this and I would love to be MR at the moment because he is the ONLY one that knows if there is any hope that DR is alive or not. He has the ultimate power. That aside IF he knows he didn't do anything then I am positive he would be putting more money /resources into looking for his son...but he isn't and that tells me something.

With Dylan gone Mark held the power. Something he hadn't had in a long time. His wives and children had moved on and were happy. He wasn't 't.

He couldn't stand it. Dylan was his last stand.

He could sit in his home and do nothing. Kind of like Nero fiddling while Rome burned.

This planned rally can't be sitting well with MR.

this was updated and has a bit more info on the searches:

Investigators have looked in three different locations: one in La Plata County, one in the high country north of Durango and one in eastern Colorado, said Dan Bender, spokesman with the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office.

He declined to be specific about the locations.

The searches did not yield any new evidence in the 3-month-old investigation, Bender said. The searches were done based on tips given to a task force assigned to investigate the case, he said.

“We’re searching for evidence that would, hopefully, lead us to locating Dylan,” Bender said.

The search in eastern Colorado was done by another agency.

Investigators have confirmed Mark Redwine visited the locations where he said he was the morning his son disappeared.

Authorities executed an extensive search warrant Nov. 29 at the father’s home.

Several forensic test results have been returned, and the Sheriff’s Office is working jointly with the FBI to review the results, Bender said. Additional interviews are being conducted both locally and outside the region, he said.

LE should have released Walmart video. I believe they were protecting MR by not showing that.

Many shoppers may have observed Father and son!

So they are still going over the results from the search from Mark's house ?

I still believe if Dylan made it there then would be some kind of proof from DNA from sheets , towels and so forth.

Or a foot print outside.......

Hmm, I wonder about the trash from mcdonalds. Was it in the truck, in the trash can at home ?
Men are not notorious for a tidy home, so that bag and its wrappers should be somewhere in
vehicle or home. I suppose they might have gone inside to eat but does anyone really go
inside mcdonalds to eat?

finally! whew... I found the snip I was looking for

Dan Bender, a spokesman for the La Plata County Sheriff’s office, said he could not comment on polygraph tests, or even confirm if they had been administered.
“We cannot show all our cards, so to speak, he said. “If were to keep the public informed, we also would be keeping potential suspects informed.”

BBM If I didn't have a 12 year old who made grandiose plans almost every weekend for the last year to get up early and go play baseball, basketball, football, etc, then yeah, I might feel the same way. But, I do, so it's easy for me to dismiss the fact he didn't wake up and go so early. The fact that R texted once to see where he was and then not again until 3 hours later leads me to believe that it wasn't unheard of for Dylan not to stick with his well made plans. IMO

This I dont agree with only because I think R knew his dad didnt let him go the night before and possibly thought his dad wasnt letting him come that morning.

Dylan said IDK in response to R question of why. Its just as easy to say 2 La8 as IDK. Dylan to me was texting on the sly short sent texts and had big plans for the following morning. this young man would have been up and waiting if ya ask me esp after seeing his face on that Walmart photo.

All JMO

So, I am looking at a map again trying to puzzle out the vague search locations we were given.

The durango high country north of durango would be (you guessed it) on the way to Vallecito

Does anyone know the name of the company MR works for offhand (I am puzzling out the "eastern colorado" possibilities)

I think they did. (don't forget forensics would also include vehicle forensics, phone forensics, etc etc etc)

I saw that he work(ed) for United Pipeline Systems. At least he did at the time of some sort of kitchen fire in April 2010. I can't find confirmation that he still works there. But the address for United Pipeline Systems in Durango is 135 Turner Drive. Is that worth putting on a map?

Quoting and reposting from someone brilliant (just kidding).

  • #558
well.. I just checked out that company.. and there are MULTIPLE locations all over the place (like the united states and international as well)

so much for my map idea! LOL

with regard to 'confirmation bias' is it confirmation bias to weigh up what is known, to think about other possibilities and use critical thinking before coming to any conclusions? If so then every time we come to any sort of decision we would all be guilty of confirmation bias, whether thats in favour of or against someone or something... so should we never come to any conclusions for fear of those conclusions being labelled as confirmation bias?

that last text communication has me thinking back to early days, IIRC there were queries then about whether the last text/s were made by Dylan. I wonder if it was a text to his friend R but was not in keeping with what their texting had been about and something about the text seemed 'off' making him and others suspicious about it.

IMO LE have given us information about that text on sunday night for a reason, so sunday night is still the point where I'm starting from
