especially when reading the entire article..

That's standard police procedure for all cases of every type. A generality that applies to every case. The reason LE doesn't share all info from all cases. Or one of the reasons actually, the others being for example so that when they get a tip or a confession they have information they can use to determine validity, accuracy, reliability of the info tipped or confessed.

Are you seeing something that looks specific to this case?

It was just my opinion based on the totality of what I read (and based a bit on my gut feeling).. not just in that article but in ALL the recent articles I have read.

I dont think they found anything! JMO
And I mean anything at all.

I agree which is why I do not believe Dylan made it there .

Question, is this thing called vallecito reservoir the same as the ' lake' that they searched?
And did someone say that lake is 4 miles from MR's house?
So the idea that he may have hopped up on monday morning and wandered
over to the lake is pretty ludicrous right?

  • #565
I think they did. (don't forget forensics would also include vehicle forensics, phone forensics, etc etc etc)
:twocents:

Forensics on the 10 items collected during the big search, forensics on the RSOs if they took DNA which they usually do, forensics on everything else they've collected we don't even know about e.g. other people's phone records

So, I am looking at a map again trying to puzzle out the vague search locations we were given.

The durango high country north of durango would be (you guessed it) on the way to Vallecito

Does anyone know the name of the company MR works for offhand (I am puzzling out the "eastern colorado" possibilities)

United Pipeline, whose headquarters are in Durango, according to the this webpage:

http://www.unitedpipeline.com/AboutUs.aspx

But he was (or is?) a truck driver for them, correct? So he would know all sorts of routes between the various locations, I think.

Especially when we have proof of the texts that show Dylan was over eager to see Ryan .

So I was just reading that it takes the average human adult between 15 to 25 min to walk a mile. This is a casual walk , not like power / exercise walking. So Dylan, who appears small for his age, has shorter legs than an average adult, although that might be countered by having more physical energy than an adult. So I will ( in my totally unscientific way) call it even and say Dylan can walk at the same pace as the average adult ! So we're talking 4 miles of walking . That's one hour to up to 1 hr 20 min of JUST walking time to get to this lake. I would assume the info I got of up to 15 to 25 min was based on walking across flat ground, which Dylan would not be doing to get to that lake. He probably would have to go over some terrain, hop on a rock, etc etc. So I'm thinking we could increase his walking time to 90 min, roughly, give or take. If Dylan knew dad would be gone for 4 hrs of errand running and thought he would just sneak in a little fishing while he had time,,,,,he would be spending 3 of the 4 hours free , with walking ONLY. This means he would have 1 hr fishing only. This means to get one hour of fishing only, he would have had to start walking the minute MR left for his errands. ........... .............. ........... Because we know he would want to be home by 11:30 to go to the friends' house. Right? So if Dylan wanted to hop up and go fishing so badly that he went on this big trek, he had to have gotten up the second MR left . If he was that wide awake, he would have been sitting up and saying " dad , wow I gotta go fishing while you're gone, I just love that lake and want to get in some quick fishing time before going to my friends house. I'll be back when u are back from errands'' . Right? But that didn't happen.

Rambling? Yes. Eliminating other theories, at least in my own mind? Yes !
There is no way that Dylan went to the lake on his own . The only logical
way would have been if MR said on day one " dylan told me he was going to
fish while i ran errands'
Thoughts?

While I was trying to get to sleep last night I kept wondering why they haven't hooked up with a missing child organization. They're so desperate for help and guidance, and IMO making a really bad choice with this protest to harass Mark. Elaine's sister was asking yesterday on FMDR to give them ideas on what they should be doing. Again, nobody recommended they hook up with a missing child organization. It's shocking to me.

Anyway, I kept wondering why they haven't, and realized the only mention I've seen is when D Hess asked LE about Texas Equusearch and LE said no. And Texas Equusearch if you look on their website doesn't offer the comprehensive set of services that other missing child organizations offer. So I wonder if the reason is a simple as that ER and CR think that missing child organizations are only for searching. Maybe they're just not aware of all the other services these organizations offer.

It's just heavy on my heart that they don't have an organization with experience helping them, and I really think it would help. I wish Elaine would call NCMEC and ask them to recommend a few organizations to her and just give them a call and look at their websites.

Wouldn't you think LE would facilitate that type of pow wow ? Parents are inexperienced with this but LE and certainly the FBI are. I would just guess in these kind of case, they would give the parents a list or even notify those missing children orgs themselves. That is odd. I guess I didn't realize they are not linked up .

I think the protest outside Mark's house is genius as its already got results with LE talking and a ton more media exposure and Mark has also spoken out . It's already worked IMO and Cory should be praised for his role in this . This is exactly how loved ones should behave when looking for a missing family member .... MOO , IMHO

just jumping off your post about Dylan appearing small for his age. I went looking to see what the average height was for a 13 yr old boy, its 5'1 3/4"
and the average weight is 102 pounds.

Average Height and Weight for Boys

According to the Centers for Disease Control, the average height for a 13-year-old boy is 5' 1 3/4". Boys' normal height can range from 4'11" at the 10th percentile to 5' 5 3/4" at the 90th percentile. The average weight for boys at that age is 102 pounds, with a range from 80 pounds at the 10th percentile to 135 pounds at the 90th percentile.

Pretty interesting that this was Bender's reply to a question specifically about the polygraphs isn't it?

Dan Bender, a spokesman for the La Plata County Sheriff’s office, said he could not comment on polygraph tests, or even confirm if they had been administered.
“We cannot show all our cards, so to speak, he said. “If were to keep the public informed, we also would be keeping potential suspects informed.”

You could always FB message suggestions to them.

Well one of my kids made me a facebook account a few years ago so I could look at pages you can't see if you're not logged in. That's the extent of what I do on facebook - look but don't touch, and I'm not even very good at the looking lol. I should learn how to use it more, but I really don't want to.

So he's about average? I guess girls grow faster at that age and boys are a bit behind. He just seems so small :( .. Tks for the info!

Do you all think anyone else was given a polygraph besides Elaine and MR? Was it not confirmed by LE already that these 2 had taken a polygraph? Or was that just coming from Elaine/MSM?
