absolutely. I liken it to the stalker, NOT SAYING HE IS, remember how the stalking laws had to be changed and revised because those creeps would dance right on the edge of legal and illegal.

@TxLady, they were returned the next day. Again, that was after LE got involved.

I wonder if he has his next lady friend picked out? :what:

I was asked a question a while back and I'm sorry for not remembering who asked it. I've been trying so hard to catch up and finally did.

There was an incident when my children were not returned intentionally and without permission or knowledge of where they were. Keep in mind that this was a long long time ago. At that time we didn't have cell phones or pages or any of that. MR did not return my calls or talk with me. After much discussion w/LE they did take it as more of a criminal vs civill matter but not much, they contacted MR and that was about it. MR was with the children the entire time.

Sorry for forgetting who asked this. I'll try to do better I promise.

So using the kids and letting mom think they could be anywhere is a game he's not afraid to play! SICK !

It does seem that MR likes control .And Elaine had moved away , got custody of Dylan and he could not deal with that fact . It grated on MR that Elaine had moved on with her life and had got engaged and Dylan also had a new potential step father and a new lovely home and suddenly Mark was not in control and he may of taken steps to rectify this :cow:

More about the search of MR's home 11-28-2012 (warrant search):

Fifteen members of the search task force arrived at Mark Redwine's home at 8:30 this morning (11-28-2012); it included members of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the FBI, according to the sheriff's office.

From same article - talks about initial search of MR's home Week of 11-19-2012:

La Plata County Sheriff spokesman Dan Bender told ABCNews.com that when Dylan was first reported missing, authorities checked Dylan's father's home to see if the boy was there. Dylan was visiting his father for the Thanksgiving holiday (his parents are divorced).

"We were checking the basement and other rooms, we were seeing if there had been something left on the bed, like his cellphone," Bender said. "We weren't doing a very meticulous search." (referring to initial search week of 11-19-2012)

Thank you to whoever pointed out that MR went looking for Dylan at a friend's in Vallecito before heading to RN's in Bayfield. This makes sense to me. Even though Dylan had plans with Ryan, it would have been easier for him to walk or get a ride to his friend's house in Vallecito than to make it to Bayfield on his own.

Maybe this minor is someone else that D was texting Sunday evening during the trip to Wal-Mart/McDonalds. Or maybe just someone MR recalled being close with Dylan before he moved with his mother to CS.

ETA: Not sleuthing a minor. Just makes sense to me why MR would have looked somewhere in Vallecito prior to driving to Bayfield.

So telling is the text that says ' and mike has your mom ?? '' That little phrase says so much. Why would who ' has' mom have any bearing on a conversation about where Dylan is ?

I seem to think that's what the latest searchers were looking for "under bridges", etc.... JMO !

or looking for the backpack....

Someone said there is a creek that runs immediately behind MR's house. Looking at the pictures, it looks as though the mountain slope and trees come almost to his back door, so that creek must be tiny. I wonder if it's a little rambling creek or a really fast moving creek. And I wonder where it empties out and if there's anyway to keep an eye on that area for something like a phone or backpack to wash up ? Grasping I know, but what else have we got ?

OK that was an error. There is a creek or small river right across the street from his house . Empties into the giant lake :(

OK - found this:

Mark said he tried texting Dylan all afternoon in an area with spotty cell phone service.
When he didn't hear anything back by late afternoon, he went to Dylan's friend's house in Vallecito. That friend hadn't seen him.

Mark became alarmed and drove the 20 miles to Bayfield. Dylan's friends there hadn't seen him either. Mark called Elaine Redwine and went to the Bayfield Marshal's Office.

The important thing to note is that it says: "That friend hadn't seen him". To me, that implies that perhaps that friend wasn't expecting him.

Otherwise, I would have expected MR to say that the friend said: "He never showed up". Not that any of this really matters. I'm just curious because even if they never talked (DR & Vallecito friend), who knows, depending on where that boy(s) lived, maybe DR took off on his own to just show up there to kill time. That's why I really wanted to know where that individual(s) lived, how far in relation to MR's home, and what was around the area!

What could LE gain from the phone itself at this point? Wouldn't they have everything from it already? Imam sure they would like to have it, but would they conduct searches for a phone in mid-winter? Or a backpack?

  • #636
I would like to know if trash bins/landfills have been checked as well.

This is why I believe he is in the lake we have not heard of landfills being searched at all.

I don't know... my initial gut reaction for whatever reason was they were looking for the "phone". Instant thought when I first read the article. Nothing to base it on. No matter what they were looking for, phone, backpack, body, fishing pole, I assume they want it for physical evidence down the road.

Not a fact - just MOO

I also have funny feelings that I don't like about the "lake" - but I would think that someone may have at least alerted local landfill operators to be on the lookout for ..... type thing .. considering a child was missing and it wouldn't be the first time a victim ended up there - and especially after they ruled out runaway and on Day 2 were considering foul play/abduction, etc.

I think he went missing on that ride home.

What I can't get past is as has been stated many times there was at least 20 hours before DR was reported missing. So why would MR just simply say I came home and he was gone. Why if he did something would he not create a crime scene? He could have easily done this. jmo
