Why wouldn't he? If he thought Dylan was out on foot, I would go to the closest (geographically) friend's house first too. JMO

I think that was a good idea. We'll see if he says he went to the Lake as the fishing pole was missing and LE was a week behind in searching. I am anxious to know if he search there if not right then as soon a he discovered the missing pole. When did he say the pole was missing?

Another question to ponder, IF MR had truly intended to drive DR to BAYFIELD friends at either 6:30 a.m. or even 7:30 a.m., as DR and RN had planned, then why when MR got home and realized DR was missing did MR drive FIRST to the reported friend in VALLECITO, when there had never been any plans made (that we're aware of) for DR to go there ... and that the Vallecito friend "hadn't seen him" (and it didn't appear that he was expecting DR (from what we know) as it wasn't stated that the friend said "DR never showed up" (as if he was expected there)...

Just something to think about...

Because Dylan is 13? Because that kid lived closer and the likelihood was if Dylan was going to walk anywhere, it might be to this friend's house??? It me, it makes sense to start with his closest friends house first then work your way to the ones further away. At this time, he had no idea when Dylan left his house, was he gone 3 hours or 20 minutes??? How far could he have gotten.

9News - KUSA: Dylan Redwine – Where’s My Son

Mark Redwine:
“Everybody I look at, first question I want to have for them is, Where’s my son?... and I know that’s an irrational way to think, but, … that’s how I feel.”

This is a great point ! If a wandering SO got Dylan, we do not know if he got him from inside the house, off the front porch, out of the yard or down the street 100 yard or 3 miles. So time is of the essence in knowing how far he could have gotten alone or how far someone could have taken him. Add on the other hours before he was reported missing, he could have gotten / taken very far away .

9News - KUSA: Dylan Redwine – I Blame Myself

Mark Redwine:

“I do blame myself. I relive this 1,000 times, and every time, it comes back to… I seen him laying on the couch and I didn’t try hard enough maybe to wake him up, to have him come with me. I beat myself up over that constantly."

But that’s not… that’s not helping me. And it’s not helping Dylan.”

Note underlined word – I’m assuming he meant to say “ask” – but I heard “Have to them” and would like other’s opinion. I’d like it to be accurate!

Yes I caught that too, he spoke a typo ! Or he meant to say ' have for them' .

9News - KUSA: Not a Sock

Elaine Redwine:

“For him to just take off walking, or be abducted, or whatever … it’s like… with a backpack???… you know... and then to find nothing up in that area --not a sock –- not anything that belonged to Dylan? … very strange…”.

9News - KUSA: Won’t Forget

Elaine Redwine:

“All we want is Dylan home. That’s all we want. That’s all we’ve ever wanted. And, we will do, whatever we have to.

We’re not gonna’ stop.
We’re not gonna’ back down!
We’re not gonna’ forget about him!
We’re not just gonna’ roll over and pretend like this never happened!!!”

There are 5 video clips from the upcoming special on Thursday - 2 of Mark, 2 of Elaine, and 1 of LE - here are all 5 on one page -

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYXbsaN_XNgoxFRe6zgddvw?feature=watch

After viewing all five, watching Dylan's Mom actually made my eyes water, then i viewed the Father, and he appears so fake, it's like he controlling his voice, and at the same time thinking of what to say, instead of speaking and reacting like a Distraught Father who's son is missing.

Not a sock? Why mention a sock?

When I heard her say that, I got the impression she was trying to say that they couldn't even find a mere SOCK he had left behind - in other words, she couldn't believe that NOTHING of Dylan's was left at his dad's house although he was supposed to be visiting/staying there.... KWIM ???

I know!!! When I transcribed Elaine's, the way her voice kept getting louder and louder and MORE and MORE determined that she will NOT just give up and roll over and pretend nothing happened! I actually wanted to type each statement with a font that got larger and larger to truly convey what the tone of her voice sounded like and how obviously upset and determined she sounded that she will never give up finding Dylan!

So sad....

Yes I caught that too, he spoke a typo ! Or he meant to say ' have for them' .

If so substituting "have for them" it would then read:

“Everybody I look at, first question I want to have for them is where’s my son?... and I know that’s an irrational way to think, but, … that’s how I feel.”

In reading it with that change, the key word for me is 'want' why does he want to have this, instead of he has this? :twocents:

ETA It is possible this is a very truthful statement.

I was watching the case of Haddon Clark and Michelle Dorr last night. She was the little girl who lived next door to Haddon Clark when he lived with his brother and family.

Carl Dorr was in the middle of a contentious divorce with his wife when he allowed his daughter Michelle to play out front in her little swimming pool. When he went to check on her, she was gone. She had gone to the next door neighbor to see if the little girl there could join her. The little girl was not home and neither was the rest of the family but Haddon Clark was. The little girl was later found to have murdered by him in that house.

The father, being the last to see his daughter was surrounded by suspicion from all side. Fingers were pointed his way.

It wasn't until Haddon Clark killed again and got caught that they found out what happened to Michelle Dorr. Apparently, right after he murdered Michelle in that house, he left, so with her disappearnce, no one ever thought to look for him or check the house for blood or anything. He was long gone by the time a deep investigation was in process.

I guess my point is this: MR saw him at his house, but who knows where Dylan could have gone and who he could have encountered. A relative of a neighbor as well as seasonal or vacation people. And then those people left the area.

When Michelle Dorr disappeared, no one thought of anything like this happened, yet it's true, as we know now. Strange things always happen. Murderers are opportunists. They wait for their prey like a lion waits to pounce on his prey. When the prey lest expects it. Poor Carl Dorr lived for years with the stigma that he disappeared his child when that was the furthest thing from the truth.

9News - KUSA: Dylan Redwine – Not a Runaway

Melissa Blasius – Interviewer:

“Have you guys ruled out the possibility that one or other of the parents had arranged for Dylan to be taken on purpose to keep the child from the other parent?’

Dan Bender (Sheriff's Office):
“The only possibility that we’ve ruled out due to the passage of time is that Dylan is a runaway.”
