Hello everyone! :seeya:
I am new here and found this site because of my interest in finding Dylan. My mother and sister live in Durango, and I have been to Vallecito a few times in the past. There's just something about this little guy that keeps nagging at me. I pray they find him soon!!!
I have been trying to read up and take in all of the "evidence" presented thus far. Having not completed the task, I do have some questions and thought it might save some time if I just posted the questions and received some quick answers from you "seasoned" members.
First, it seems to me, MR would have to be the stupidest man on the planet to deliberately plan to have his son go missing the very first day he arrived. This leads me to believe that if MR is involved, it was the result of an accident, or an elaborate hoax to hide Dylan with someone close to him. Lies can be told to Dylan, that he would not, at least in the beginning, know that something was "up." But either of these would put MR at the center of the investigation. Probably not likely.
Next: There seems to be some confusion as to whether or not MR actually took a polygraph. Why would the authorities not come right out and say he took the test and then tell what the results were? I see this all the time in other missing person cases. Why not this one? Also, have the RSO's in the area taken polygraph tests as well?
I assume the authorities have questioned everyone in the area that might have had someone visiting for the holidays. In a town that seriously thins out after the summer season, I find it strange that anyone would even know that Dylan was at the house. And MR and Dylan supposedly came home after dark, so no one would have seen Dylan going into the house. Perhaps someone living in the area heard MR talk about his son coming to visit? Otherwise, how would anyone even know that Dylan would be at the residence? And that MR would not be home with him?
Thinking along those lines, Dylan's mother and brother live only six hours away. Is it possible someone "they" know could have driven to the home and taken Dylan? Perhaps this person told Dylan he would be taken back to his mother?
Living in a remote area, MR most likely would feel that his son would be safe while he was away. I don't find the fact that he left Dylan alone while he ran errands a problem. But, I do think it odd that he didn't text Dylan to see if he was up and getting ready or to let Dylan know he would be home at such and such a time.
Also, I find the text from R at 9:27 a little strange: "Call me when you get here too." Bang on the door AND call him? Is it possible that Dylan was talking to R earlier over MR's home phone because the battery on his cell phone died? Perhaps making arrangements to come the next day? Also strange to me is the fact that R didn't send more text messages to Dylan when he failed to show up the next morning. The text at 10:00, "Come to nandos" sounds like R has spoken to Dylan and is giving him further instructions as to his whereabouts. Anyone know what/where "nandos" is?
Could the "kids" involved be helping to hide Dylan? There are lots of empty cabins this time of year. They could be taking food to him. Of course, my argument against this scenario is that by now Dylan would be thinking enough is enough! I do not discount that he could have run away. Thirteen year olds don't think like we do! He could be tired of his family fighting and tired of being pushed around by the courts.
My prayers go out to his family members (all of them!), and especially for those trying to solve the case. I do hope they find him soon so I can quit worrying about him!
