It says
Dylan made plans to arrive at his friends house the next morning (Monday) to hang out

My question
Were there plans for Sunday night or did Dylan say Hey dad can You take me to R's tonight instead of tomorrow? Dad said no.

RN, 13, a friend of Dylan’s said in an interview Saturday with The Durango Herald that Dylan originally was going to Bayfield to visit his friends Sunday night but then changed that to meet them early Monday morning.

Dylan had asked his father whether he could go to his friends' that evening after they had shopped at Walmart and eaten at a McDonald's in Durango and before the 45-minute drive to Mark's home north of Vallecito Lake. Mark said he told his son it was too late. So Dylan texted friends in Bayfield, his father said, and made arrangements to meet them the next morning."

BBM

My perception was that Dylan was going to spend Sunday and Monday with his friends but that was before his trip was delayed. Once he actually got in on Sunday, MR said no about spending the night that night since he just got in and it was already getting late (which could also mean no, I'd like to spend this evening with you.) MOO

ETA, he could have made the plans with R without having even ok'd it with MR. Kids do that a lot. Mine do that a lot!

Thank you for acknowledging that Bender's quote above does not say 9:37.

I see 2 posts by MB on her twitter about 9:37, neither of which say there was no cell activity after 9:37 to include incoming texts.

I respect others' right per TOS to have and state their opinion, based on their own personal way of coming to that opinion. I also have that right, and I ask others to please respect it in turn. I don't ask others to think as I do or to share my opinions or to take my opinions as fact. I ask the same in return from others. I think that's how it's supposed to work here.

@SherryGrondin Dylan Redwine used cell until 9:37 the night prior to disappearing, and not at all after that. Dad's story = Detective's

So I am trying to clarify here. So are you saying that the above statement does not take into account incoming texts that he might have read AFTER 9:37 or even the next morning?

I think we all are making it more complicated than it really is.
We are disecting every word every sentence and we all come up with a diff scenario.

in this video clip, MB is asking Bender if LE have ruled out the possibility of either parent taking Dylan....his response is the only thing ruled out is that he is a runaway...

Okay, after this I'm done with this particular line of conversation, because I'm getting really uncomfortable with it.

1) As I noted above, until just a while ago, I had read Officer Bender's statement a number of times. I tended to read it in discrete bits of information, rather than as a whole. I think (IMO) that he was very specific in his wording, and that every piece of it is important, including the mention of if the phone was on.

2) This is one of the two posts on MB's twitter, which again, I appreciate you guiding me to:

"Dylan Redwine used cell phone until 9:37 the night prior to disappearing, and not at all after that."

The way I read this is that Dylan Redwine used his cell phone on Sunday night. He used it until 9:37. He did not use it at all after that. I do not know MB personally, I do not know her reputation as a reporter, or how in/accurate she may be. I simply went to her page, and that is what I read. Perhaps she did not mean to say "at all," but she did.

I too respect others' rights to their opinions. I do not think anyone's posts are irrelevant, or not worthy of consideration or inclusion.

Thank you for your response.

Best to you, and prayers for Dylan and his family.

I don't get your meaning? They are males. What else should they do? Not everyone has to have huge elaborate plans to spend quality time with someone. :waitasec:

I've wondered how much interaction/conversations/texts Mark and Dylan exchanged during the days prior to Dylan's arrival.

I read NONE! Elaine asked him if he had head from Dad and he said no and that came from FB

I am not sure that precise words used by LE have as much meaning as some are giving them. Sometimes they just answer questions. The next time, they use a different phrase. And I really doubt that they have a whole lot of secret evidence they are holding back. If they did, they would not appear to be 50/50 on abduction vs. something happening at home, IMO. I think they are as open to both theories as they ever were.

  • #473
I wonder if they feel it is 50/50 between abduction or something happening at the house or if they are leaning stronger for one or the other

  • #474
If I lived in that community, I'd sure like to know if LE thinks strongly that Dylan could have been picked up by some random abductor.

Since it appears that LE has not ruled out the possibility of parental abduction, does that mean we can discuss this option? I don't want to open a can of worms but Channel 9 is MSM.

Please don't throw things at me....

Apparently Sadie is a cadaver dog and the owner of the search group is quite honest about simply trying to bring closure to Dylan's family.

But on the official page, where this article is posted, people are choosing to read it as Sadie looking for a live Dylan. :(

They could of played a game or something. You are not going to talk though a movie. Considering he made Dylan change his plans to then sit in front of the tv seems strange :cow:

Dylan may as well of actually gone to his friends if that was all MR had planned for the night.

I have a hard time with parental abduction since the parents have not also vanished. Although there have been long periods of time when Mark was not very visible.

My youngest son has an iTouch and a flip phone for when he spends the night at a friends. His phone number and email are on the same contact in my contact list, so the only way I know if he's texting from his iTouch is if it says imessage. I looked at the screen cap of R's phone, and it only shows his texts from the following day. So I can't see where Dylan was texting from. I mean, I don't think it's possible for him to have used it iTouch on the ride home because of the lack of wi/fi.

But his Dad says they arrived home somewhere around 8-8:30. So it's possible Dylan had switched over to the iPod when the 8:01 text conversation started with RN (if they were home by then and he has access to wifi).

I guess so. But wonder why LE did not, this time, rule out the possibility of Dylan getting lost and/or injured while walking. That would not fall under running away, IMO, if he left to go to his friend's house, as many believe.
