Where has it been confirmed that this electronic communication was a text at all?

There is an updated timeline released by LE. It specifically said "electronic communication device (text) at 9:37 pm (I can find if for you if needed, but don't have the link at the moment).
I do agree with you though as far as it was not released whether this was outgoing or incoming and I was tweeting with MB and she told me LE will not release that information. I tried. :banghead:

Honestly I can't remember if he said that in an interview or on facebook. I just know I read it or saw it. I did find a copy of it on another website but I don't think I can link it because it was something Cory posted on facebook that has since been removed. If you need to remove my post go ahead.

Yes , negligent homicide and probably a slew of others. I wondered about this
a while back. Could MR have been giving DR liquor, trying to be the cool guy, etc and something happened?

I literally just had this thought 1 page back and posted it before reading these.

When my son was 14 he was very angry at us because we wouldn't let him and his 16 yr old 'girlfriend' hang out alone in his bedroom. We would catch her in there after he would sneak her in the back door and we'd ask her to leave. My DS would get so mad that his head was about to explode. [ Yrs later he thanked us because one of his friends became a father to her child at 15.]

Anyhow, when he was really angry with us about kicking his girlfriend out of his bedroom, he would mouth off to my DH and I. I wanted to ignore it, but my DH would jump on it and get in his face in response. Usually my DS would say ' I'm outta here!' and try to leave the house at midnight. DH would say " You are not going anywhere at this time of night." And of course DS would say ' TRy and stop me.'

That is the kind of exchange I wonder about. Let's say MR was angry about something--maybe they argued about going to the friends that night, and maybe things got heated. Maybe MR started talking smack about Elaine and MH and D got upset. It might have escalated. Maybe MR was mad about something and took D's cell and D fought back. D might have jumped out of the truck and took off, with MR following him. MR yelling ' Get back in the freaking truck' and D saying " Make me!"

I know my DH and DS tusseled a few times when my DS used to threaten angrily to leave the house in the middle of the night. Things can escalate fast between a teen and his dad. JMO

All I know is that is how it was printed in MSM. I can't speculate about whether or not this is how the information was given to the reporter.

I do know my statistics, and that has nothing to do with what I said. If <100% of children who disappear have been murdered by the last person to see them, then the chances that DR would disappear and not be killed by MR is no different than the chance that JR would disappear and not be killed by her mother.

I don't know the exact statistics offhand, but if 75% of children who disappear have been murdered by the last person to see them, it means that 25% of children who disappear have not been murdered by the last person to see them. Even if that means he would be more likely than many other people, it doesn't mean that he's any more likely than others who were in the same position as he was. MOO

LE generally begins an investigation by exploring the scenarios that are most likely from a statistical standpoint. It's not surprising that websleuthers would follow suit. I've seen opinions that suggest MR is the victim of a rush to judgement, that his words are twisted to the most negative interpretation and there is no evidence pointing in his direction. I've seen quite a few posters who are on the fence because there isn't enough known for them to form an opinion. And there are posters who believe MR's actions and words, along with what few facts we do know, raise their suspicions. I haven't seen anyone write I know for a fact that X is guilty of Y. This board may be a place to receive updated information and express our hopes for a good outcome, but it's also a place to offer our opinions and theories and not everyone is going to see things the same. MOO

Officials revealed Thursday that Dylan arrived at Durango-La Plata airport at 5:46 p.m. Nov. 18; at 7:05 p.m., he was seen at a Durango Walmart; at 7:22 p.m., he went to a Durango McDonald's; and his last text message was sent at 9:37 p.m. on Nov. 18.

I think we ALL have to agree that none of us know what really happened. So we all have to agree that it could have been a random perp, a local RSO, or it could have been MR or even someone sent by ER. Or maybe D ran off and is hiding in a friends cabin. Because the fact is none of us really have any idea what really happened. JMO

What happened there as i have never heard of it?

Father and mother were separated during contentious divorce and custody issues. Father had the children for Thanksgiving 2010. The three boys disappeared in Morenci Michigan with father claiming he gave them to a woman he had met online some time before. They have never been seen again. Father is currently in jail for parental kidnapping serving a 10-15 year sentence. He will not say any thing else about the boys whereabouts. Its very sad.:banghead:

So they are definitely not referring to the 9:27 text sent by RN here. And still to our knowledge the 9:27 text did not reach Dylan's phone.

I'm really not being argumentative, but I would love to have that confirmed as something that just wasn't part of the reporter's interpretation. I specifically pinned MB down on this detail and in the end she said LE will not confirm that information and also will not confirm the "electronic device" it was made from/to. So, I really dunno??
