Family members believe Mark Redwine isn’t telling investigators everything he knows about Dylan’s whereabouts.

“No child disappears just like poof. It’s impossible,” said Dylan’s 76-year-old grandmother, Maria Goodall.

Goodall, who has terminal cancer, said she had celebrated every birthday with Dylan since he was born.

“I want to see him before I die, and it won’t be long anymore, so I have to see him,” she said.

Well to be fair, bettering your life and the life of your child is not IMO considered a "first shot fired". It's called taking care of your child. Should all divorced people live a stagnat life?

This is one of those situations where you have to put the shoe on the other foot.

It doesn't matter which parent moves, the other parent loses. They lose, because few of them can afford air plane tickets every weekend, or to drive however far away it is to attend school/sporting events. It puts a wedge between the parent/child called "distance."

I'm not saying it isn't necessary sometimes. Everyone needs to be able to pay the bills and live a fairly happy life. But in my mind, as soon as distance is put between a parent and a child, it becomes difficult for that parent to maintain a close relationship with the child.

I'm just saying it makes it difficult. Not impossible, but difficult and alot more difficult than it would be if they lived down the street.

If there was a 9:37 text sent from Dylan's cell phone I'm trying to figure out how that could be and Elaine not be able to see it. I could see this happening maybe if the text was sent but never went through, but I would think LE would need the actual phone to discover this wouldn't they?
How on earth could a text be sent via the cell phone and Elaine not be able to see it through her provider records? I'm assuming Elaine has requested these records from her provider by now. I realize that going online and looking at text details may not show everything but I know she can request this info from the provider and she can even get text conversation details. I wonder if she did this?

Well then when they lived in the same town then he should of spent more time with Dylan then. <modsnip>. The only time he seemingly made a extra effort was when they moved .. funny that ! ...:cow:

All I ever see is excuses for "poor" MR. I've heard "he has to work, his work takes him out of town, he's doing what he can to earn a living, he couldn't see Dylan because he was working, yadda, yadda yadda", but then when ER moves out of town to better her life, the finger pointing and accusations start.

Yep , and lets be honest most people have to work. Its not a new thing and yet people still have children and manage to raise them and see them :)

discussion of that facebook page is a :nono:

So apparently we aren't allowed to voice our opinion now about MR work situation not being any different than ER work situation????????????????????????????????

of course that can be discussed.

What was removed was the back and forth about the facebook page that cannot be discussed.

Good point. Elaine took Dylan away because she got a job 6 hours away to support her family but MR being on the road for days/weeks at a time and not being able to see his kids is not an issue?

People do what they gotta do to survive in this world.

Yep , i admire Elaine for making a better life for her family. Starting over is never easy and she had 2 children as well to think of. She has clearly done well for herself and her family and that should be admired .

<modsnip> My comment was my own personal opinion about how I see MR work situation vs how "others" see ER work situation.

I don't feel sorry for MR "having to work" I've seen the excuses ON THIS thread for "poor" MR. "He has to work, he's on the road, he's doing what he needs to do, he couldn't spend much time with Dylan because he was working, yadda, yadda, yadda." But ER gets a better job and moves a few hours away to make a better life for her children and that somehow isn't alright. NOPE. Double standard. Not buying it.
JUST MY OPINION AND MY OPINION ONLY!

I'm sure ER could easily clear this mystery up about the time and how what her records initially showed differed from what LE has now. Maybe the reporter can ask her if she interviews her again. The reporter said when she mentioned it to ER, she didn't sound surprised. I guess, I'm not understanding how this piece of information would prove or disprove anything.

1. There is no way of proving Dylan sent it.
2. I don't understand what difference it would make what electronic device was used to send it as again, there is no way of proving that Dylan did or did not send it.
3. This information would just bring the answer back to where the electronic device pinged from and to whom the text was sent too. Which device was used, IMO would not answer any questions.

Well it makes a difference in where it could have been sent from. An iPod requires a wifi connection. A cell phone doesn't.

It might not prove anything exactly, but it's a discrepancy that right now we have no explanation for. Police released that information so they consider it important to the timeline. It obviously is important since this message would have to be sent after Dylan arrived at MR's home. If an ipod was used, that would show Dylan had two devices capable of texting - why wasn't he using either in the morning?

Hey Everybody - Please remember that the Mods are very busy right now with several hot cases.

If you do something that violates TOS, or quote something that violates TOS, your post will be REMOVED because the Mods just do not have time to snip out the violations, especially when they are quoted several times.

I happen to be here right now and have set aside some time specifically to be in Dylan's thread, because like you all, I just can't stay away from this case for very long without checking in. BUT... do not expect the other Mods to do that - they are flying from thread to thread and they don't have time.

If you write a really good post or make a really good point, but also violate TOS, your ENTIRE post is likely to disappear.

Thanks,

Salem

That may or may not be true. The content of the 9:37 PM text could contain information that only Dylan and the recipient would know about. MOO.

No worries - its good to post a reminder sometimes.

Some of what you said was in MSM, iirc. ER did say MR hadn't seen a lot of Dylan in the months leading up to the move. So that was all good :)
