Thanks! I've actually been here for a while - came for Morgan Ingram and stayed when Dylan disappeared. I'm in Colorado and the news this last year has been so ugly, I'm kind of done with people killing kids, you know? It needs to stop! But then we had more killed yesterday :(

Kevin Torres mentioned Highway 17 on his Twitter this week - the highway with the most UFO sightings!

All the rest of this post is JMO:

Back to serious, I have chosen to believe Mark Redwine. And once I did that, it became more apparent to me that Dylan was probably taken by an acquaintance who was able to lure him into his vehicle and convince him to hand over his phone that Monday morning.

I think all investigators right now should be looking at who Dylan knew in the Vallecito area, doesn't even have to be anyone the parents knew, since "Dylan never knew a stranger." It is possible that PIs will have some success with that.

I think it is unlikely that the dogs will be successful, simply because without a warrant I don't know what they could search. Maybe folks will give permission, but if they don't?

I think Elaine and friends are probably a little naive about technology - I would have checked the phone records FIRST, probably before even getting in the car to drive from Monument.
And what is it do you think they could have possibly found in phone records?
Dylan wasn't using his phone since Sunday evening.

I think LE asked the family to wait to call in TES/KlaasKids because they thought they knew what happened and figured they would have the case solved in a few weeks. BUT as we all know, things are not progressing like that. LE is not coming up with the evidence to move forward. I think now is the time to request help.

The weather is bad and probably will be for the next 2 months but by April, the family could have a Child Search organization onboard. (geezzzz that seems so far away :()

I think the K9 Forensics sounds like a good group and I think they will consult LE before they proceed. It is probably more important to talk to the family first and get their support before going to LE. I don't know. But they sound competent to me so I'm just wishing them God's speed and clear sailing.

Never at any point of this case did I get the impression LE believed they knew what happened. Except maybe the first week when they believed him to be a runway.

I'm trying to go over the differences between the videos and try to list them and eliminate or accept

MR said he got home about 815 from there, that's where some of the differences come in:
Did they play or toss the football around?
Did they watch a movie?
Did Dylan go to sleep right away?
(those are the 3 versions he has given)

In the morning:
What time did he wake up? (I don't think this has even been asked)
Did he see if Dylan's phone was on the charger? (I don't think this has even been asked)
He tried for 45 minutes to wake Dylan:
Once he was out like a light
Another time he acknowledge MR and said I understand
In the video he didn't mention any acknowledgement from DR
MR took a nap, but previously said he had texted DR and searched for him during the afternoon
MR went to a friend of DR's and once he was there and hadn't seen DR, the next time he wasn't there at all.
The fishing pole, MR said he noticed that was missing, I'd like to know where he stores those - but does anyone know if that's been mentioned?
Anything else I'm missing?

Cory has stated the garage but its from a source we can not talk about.

It's not so much asking permission (to me) as it is coordinating efforts, not duplicating efforts, providing effective, productive assistance, not expending effort and resources on something that LE has reason to believe didn't happen or is very unlikely not to happen, not to mention just plain old common courtesy among professionals, and wanting to keep your and your organization's reputation as professionals squeaky clean.

If you're legit and professional, you call, you intro yourself and your organization and your credentials, you offer your full cooperation, you promise not to do anything that would negatively impact the case, and you ask for any info and advice LE can offer you.

I can't think of any good reason for any legitimate professional organization not to make that call.

It's just my personal opinion though. :twocents:

Well said, Cheese. That is why the United States Justice Dept. has issued guidelines for collaboration between LE and private investigators:

I think any reputable organization would be a great asset to the case. I hope that LE accepts their help and works with them. It's been two months and they don't see to have anything more to go on, they seem stuck, so a different approach, some outside help would probably jumpstart the investigation and get it going in the right direction. I'm hoping so anyway. JMO

Cory has stated the garage but its from a source we can not talk about.

Thanks, but that doesn't make sense since it appears MR parks outside, so why would you go through the garage to get to the truck? hmmm

I haven't been on the past two days so I apologize if this has already been discussed.

I found it curious that LE released the info about a 9:37 electronic message, and said they hope the detail will yield new info in the same statement. (the rest of the timeline was in this statement as well, but most of that was already published in MSM prior to this statement).

We can't figure out what it is about that detail that they think would yield new information. Could it be that they do not know who the message was to? A pre-paid phone bought with cash? Another Ipod texting account (I'm not sure how those are traced), An e-mail they haven't been able to trace? Could this have something to do with why Dylan (may have) texted from an Ipod rather than cell phone? (Thinking it wouldn't be easily traced?) I don't know.

I realize this post is a little off-the-wall. I am just trying to think outside of the box a little.

:moo: My own thoughts!

FWIW Cory said garage then somebody corrected him and said shed. Either way I highly doubt he kept them in the house. So how all of sudden (while at Tristan's house) did MR realize a fishing pole was missing?

That was Cory's question at the time that it made no sense. Mark should never of spotted it missing normally.

I have no idea how tidy/neat/clean his house was. When we were married you could eat off the floor and could hardly tell we had children because I am a neat freak.

From the video, MR's house looked reasonably neat. Hard to tell how white glove clean it was from a video. No scary Addams Family cobwebs for sure. I did notice sneakers on the floor and what looked like a snack bag of some kind on the bottom of the end table. It definitely has the look of a man's house, white walls and brown everything else. I'm just the opposite of you. Let's just say I'm not the arch enemy of dirt so it all looked pretty presentable to me. I used to feel bad when people dropped in unexpectedly, but I finally figured out it probably made them happy to think, "Gee, my place looks better than this."

Good question and I can't for the life of me figure out how this could yield new information since no other details were given.

Yes, I really don't know what they expect potential tipsters to do.
Presumably LE wants tips. But they haven't released anything about the message except it's time. That is not so helpful.

I hadn't heard he was up eating cereal when his dad left.

iirc he saw the bowl in the sink when he got home from his errands.

(the post you quoted: I was referring to what MR said he was texting Dylan while he was out running errands)

I am still here: :fence: on what happened to Dylan. What I do know is that I wish he were home with his family.

Nope, I was not clear in my question.

I didn't mean to imply he was up eating when MR left.

I meant why didn't he answer his Dad's texts or calls that morning? Or RN's texts?

If he had time to sit around and watch cartoons and eat cereal, why couldn't he answer texts from his Dad?

Thank you very much, rebeccaeee! So Rocky Mountain Invest. has only been in existence for about a month.

I hope Mark checked out this guy's background. So many PIs jump to try to get involved in missing child cases, and it's so important that families make sure they're licensed, experienced, have a good reputation, and have experience especially in missing person cases. There are so many exploiters who try to attach themselves to the families of the missing when the families are in a vulnerable and
desperate position.

Not saying anything negative about MO - I don't know his background yet. Just saying I hope Mark checked him out. Same as I hope Elaine checked out Bobby Brown and made sure he has experience in missing person cases.

Unless the person hiring them
doesn't want them to be experienced?

Elaine Redwine said she and her older son have been pleading with Dylan’s father.

“Dr. Phil is offering to put us on this Wednesday,” she said, referring to daytime talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw.

“I would love for (Mark Redwine) to join us,” she said. “It’s very important that we get this information about Dylan out there. As I’ve said all along, this is only about finding Dylan, and we need to work together as a team to do this.”
