She can, but I imagine Dr. Phil would want to go over everything from the last night, etc. in detail, otherwise he could just show Dylan's photo. And ER was not there.

So Dr. Phil is in the business of solving missing persons cases now?
If the purpose of having both parents there is to be a mediator between them, then I don't think he needs to rehash the details and interrogate Mark. Oh, he might ask a few questions just to get the audience up to speed on what little is known about the case, but I really hope that's as far as he takes it. It's not his place to solve the case. That's LE's job.
OTOH, if his purpose is to help them keep Dylan's name and face out there, and to give the case nationwide publicity, Mark doesn't need to be there to accomplish that.
IMO, if they want answers, it would be better to sit down together privately with a mediator and hash things out, NOT in front of a big audience and on national t.v.
I understand the desire to get as much attention as possible for Dylan, and I know that any venue is better than none. But I am just amazed at their thinking that it will magically bring them the answers they need. What do they expect, that he will get nervous and suddenly blurt out a confession?
I think that is about as likely as me winning the lottery this next week.
With the animosity that has been so obvious between them so far, I just can't see this as an opportunity to improve that in any way.

I already posted a link to an article that said TV was on Nickelodeon.
Whatever that means. It said nothing about a channel.
I am not aware of any interviews in which MR claimed TV was left on Nickelodeon channel. In the most recent one he didn't talk about what he found when he came back at all.

I'm confused. Nickelodeon IS a channel, in fact there are several Nick channels. Most t.v.'s will automatically go to the same channel it was on when it was turned off. Like if I was watching Fox News when I turned it off, the next time I turn it on, it will be on Fox News.
What the poster is saying is that maybe the t.v. was off when Mark came home, and he flicked it on, and it was on Nickelodeon. Not that the t.v. was left on. But... if it was, then it sounds like Dylan must have left rather suddenly. Maybe someone he barely knew came along and said they would give him a ride, he grabbed his backpack and left with them.
Not every kid thinks about turning the t.v. off when they go outside. My hubby has been known to do that, just walk out or into the computer room and leaves it on. Aggravates me to no end!

I think most people would be shocked if they were able to read a written transcript of any conversation or interview that had just participated in. When you type your thoughts on a forum you have the luxury of stepping away and re-reading for continuity or errors, using your text editor or spell checker, repeated words etc.
Public speaking is an art, and we do judge people by how successfully they can pull it off. I thought even the reporter MB came off pretty poorly in the uncut videos and following transcripts, and she comes off completely differently in her on air news grabs - the luxury of newsroom editing!
I talk almost all day for a living in my classroom - put me in front of a camera or microphone and I sound totally different ... and not in a good way! One of our administrators frustrates the heck out of me when he runs our staff meetings - the constant "ums" and "ahs", "ya knows" and "and all thats" padding out everything he says :banghead: A written transcript would make anyone wonder how he made it to the position he is in. But he really doesn't speak like that in normal conversations - he's a funny, intelligent person to chat to!
:moo:

I think that is true but all of the "likes" and "ya knows" are not worriesome imo but the way he acts and what he doesnt say when asked what do you think happened to Dylan...now thats what bothers me.

If the tv was on when MR came home, this could suggest Dylan left in a hurry.

Really wild theory now - what if MR had made an enemy or enemies somewhere. Perhaps owed money or double crossed someone. They turned up at the house expecting to see MR, but only Dylan there. Told him to grab his stuff and go with them for whatever reason, then it all got out of hand? Maybe it was meant to scare MR but then the story of Dylan being missing got massive and they panicked.

Or maybe someone expected the house to be empty (someone breaking in) and Dylan discovered them. They grabbed him to stop him telling anyone. They could also have grabbed his phone, so he couldn't get help.

Highly unlikely, I know... but I am trying to think of how to explain why no one saw him outside, and why the tv might be left on.

I've been concentrating on the uncut interview, and it's very interesting yet disturbing the way the Father is controlling his comments and his demeanor, his eyes are blood shot red, yet lacking tears.

He made sure to stress the fact about the Verizon cell service getting reception in only a few spots in the house, one by the couch where Dylan was 'sitting' not laying, that's since been moved, and the other in the Fathers bedroom that Dylan didn't enter that night, the Father said Dylan went upstairs to retrieve the DVD player.

He also made reference to working 14 hour days, I use to be a Truck Driver, and those are the working hours allowed in a 24 hour day, with 10 straight hours offduty, resting. Plus prior to that he was talking about being in Chicago and also New York with Dylan, and they were gone Two weeks, and Dylan was excited about returning home, then he made reference about returning, but his direction of travel from the east brought him thru Colorado Springs. So it's obvious he took Dylan places his driving a Tractor Trailer allowed.

I noticed this in the video store and uncut 40 min video and was like OH YEA he's drunk ! But then on closer examination I see his left eye ( which neither interview is from the left side so its not as visible) is NOT as red. If you look closely , even though he has some hair dangling in the way , you can see the right eye has a red ridge at the bottom of it under the pupil. I've begun to think he has an old eye injury or condition in the right eye ONLY and the left eye seems perfectly clear and white. So I had to retract my earlier statement that he appears drunk in the video. I think he's got a ' bum ' right eye that makes it look that way. Hope you can see that too.
Doesn't mean he's not guilty and actually doesn't mean he's not drunk. Just an observation !

Just curious as to when the bears begin hibernating in Colorado. My mother thinks a bear found Dylan. Do they wait until the weather is cold to go into hibernation?

Oh my , I hope your mother is wrong. But when he went missing it was considerably warmer than it is today so my bet is the bears were still
fairly active.

Are there any caves in the area? If so, DR could have found one and gotten lost or fallen in one.

Is there a history of meth labs in the area? Could DR have stumbled upon a meth lab in the woods?

Have all the ponds/lakes in Vallecito been checked? Or just the large one?

Is there a dry-dock for sailboats or boats in Vallecito? If so, have the boats been checked?

Just brainstorming here....

Good thinking. You reminded me of a couple of scenarios.
Dylan's friend said Dylan was a dare devil, which does concern me !
Could he have climbed in someones' boat or trailer on the back of a
truck , thinking he would hop off at the next town, stowaway style,
and the drivers not even known ?
Does anyone know how close any railroad runs through this area ? tia

I don't know how long prints remain on items. Interesting thought!

Anyway, if I recall correctly, LE stated that something happened in the house or after he left the house, indicating to me that they have some kind of proof that he was actually in the house to begin with. If not, wouldn't it be fair to say they would arrest MR because they knew for a fact that DR never made it from McDonald's to his house? Just a thought...

From what I understand, fingerprints will remain on some surfaces for years, and I read awhile back that they have ways of determining whether the print is fresh or had been there awhile. I have no idea if they can tell whether the prints were from that weekend or from the visit in Sept. though. Techonolgy has advanced a lot over the years, but I am not sure that they could make that distinction in such a short time period.

I'm going back through some old articles and thought I would bring some attention to somethings again.
http://www.durangoherald.com/article/20121124/NEWS01/121129756/Mystery-lingers-over-missing-teen

I find the comments by the parents in this article puzzling. They say complete opposite things about what Dylan's interests are.
http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_22063185/sunday-search-launched-missing-boy-laplata-county

So, I wonder if Dylan spent more time doing outdoor type things with his friends in Bayfield and when he moved to the bigger city became a more "generational" kid as ER describes him? I could see Dylan missing his friends and their activities in Bayfield. Maybe he did get up and grab all his stuff and take off, hoping that he could spend the rest of the time he was there with his friends. Maybe MR told him in the morning if you don't get up and go with me now, I'm not going back into town later.

Hmmm. This is an interesting thought. MR would sound like a jerk if he admitted to saying that so he might have kept that tiny detail to himself.
If he in fact said Ok you're missing your only chance, then that would in essence FORCE DR to find his own way to his friends. Maybe he even said
you have to find your own way if you don't get up now. That would make MR feel very very guilty today if it is true and might be a good reason for some of his ..... ( fill in the blank ) replies and statements. MOOOOOO

I think Dylan met up with something more dangerous than a bear!

Well as I see it he wouldnt communicate with her so she publically communicated with him .

She got his ATTEnTION!

They have been going round and round for so long it was bound to come to a bad end.
They hate each other!
Now their child is missing!
After what 6 7 yrs hes still fighing her in divorce court!

What the hay!

And All JMOO

I don't think it's the divorce itself that they are "fighting" about, but the details regarding visitation and change in child support. Since they don't have joint custody anymore because she moved to CS, then they are probably haggling over how much c/s he has to pay. Maybe he can't afford what she's asking.

I would also like to add that to have the nickelodeon channel it cost an extra $35.00 a month on your bill

I don't think so, it would depend on what satellite company he's with. We have DirecTV and it doesn't cost us any extra. We are a step or two above the basic package, and it isn't even close to $35 more than the basic costs.
Nickelodeon actually has several channels, I think we have them all.

I can definitely believe MR would say something like that. But what's killing me is I think if told he had to find his own way into town he would have called or texted or something to get a ride :( it always comes back to that lack of contact with anyone on Monday.

I kind of liked the idea someone posted a while back about Dylan possibly grabbing everything and running out of the house as he hears MRs truck pulling away, getting locked out. Someone comes along at that time and abducts him before DR has a chance to use the phone.

Questions to be asked of MR: was the house locked when MR got home? And would MR have expected DR to lock up the house if he left?

If DR knew it was a house rule to lock up and the house was not locked, it might indicate that he did not leave voluntarily.

:( Oh yeah, that ! You know every single time I try to look anywhere else, something always pops up that is a reminder of how very UNLIKELY it is that anything other than MR happened to Dylan.

Yesterday I asked about the most intimate relationship there is between two humans for a reason . Most of you probably gathered it but if not , here goes. We have heard personally from ONE and via MSM and their own mouths from TWO more of those most intimately connected to MR. Azgrand, ER and CR are people who know him inside and out and their opinions matter greatly. Their opinions are more what I base my thinking on that pings, or speaking style or lack of this or that regarding MR. If any of them were saying 'this is a good man, he cannot be involved" I would believe them. But none of them are . So that was my point.

Thinking about what would keep MR and ER going back to court for years after the divorce:

Assuming that 1) the original parenting plan did stipulate a 50/50 split on number of nights 2) ER earned more than MR 3) a child support order was in place it is just as likely that ER was paying child support to MR. All of this is speculative and only the 50/50 split has been confirmed in MSM, as far as I know.

And if 4) ER had not previously filed for a change in child support to be paid to MR as a result of his not following the 50/50 agreement, it would all have come to a head when she moved Dylan and changed the parenting plan, IMO. MR could have been fighting a loss of incoming child support payments from ER.

I really can see the parenting plan and child support orders as being ongoing friction points between MR and ER, IMO. I think it is just as likely that ER was paying as it is that MR was. The move could have started financial problems for MR either way.

Other reasons for continuing divorce issues could be related to shared assets or shared debt, specifically getting credit accounts paid off or balances transferred and the account closed. I have read that she signed the house or houses over to MR. It's not really easy to do that if there were mortgages or home equity loans involved. In my experience I had to qualify on my own to get a new mortgage within a specified time period or the house would have been required by the divorce court to be sold. Another area of friction might be income or expense relating to the rental house, if ER still retained an interest.

I have not seen actual public property tax ownership records on the two properties, are they listed in MRs name only now? Links to records showing actual ownership would be better than MSM statements, because ER may have done her part by signing, but MR would be responsible to finish any financing for the transfer to be complete.

I'm pretty sure I have read that both ER and CR have said that MR loved DR and they never had any reason to believe he would hurt him, or she never would have put him on the plane. I guess I'm saying I have seen both types of comments from ER and don't know what that means. :(

Nickelodeon is a channel, where I live at its channel 31

Mark has DirecTV (you can see a DirecTV remote and box in the interview video), so he could have as many as 5 different Nickelodeon channels - east, west, one for the younger kids, one that shows cartoons and one for teens.

Do you think it is odd that if MR knows about WS or 'reads' here that there hasn't been anyone join WS that knows him personally? Wouldn't you think it would be a grand opportunity for them to be on here posting and extolling his redeeming virtues? I certainly do and while I think ER and Azgrand are wonderful people they are ex-wives. I am also an ex-wife and I would have a hard time saying anything positive about my x-husband recalling any thing of our past marriage and it has been 40 years ago.

On those other social media sites there were plenty of people standing up for MR and that has to be one of the reasons others didn't want the sites up. I have no idea what happended to Dylan, but I don't believe logically this was done by MR. It all comes down to the cell phone reportedly cutting off at around 8:00 in the evening. We know though that a text was sent at 9:27, so based on that, what is the correct info.

And if this case is going to be solved on the cell phone why was such an obvious piece of evidence not dealt with. Why weren't messages sent so as to cover up the obvious silence after 8:00. Why was the phone gone along with the back pack? None of this makes any sense, but I think it is just too obvious. If MR did this he would have at least made the details point away from him and not directly pointing to him. JMO

In an article about his bday, Dylan's grandma, ERs mother ( i dont have a link) said something to the effect of ' it's easier to believe mr has done something than a stranger so that's why elaine wants to believe that'' . That to me is valuable because she's saying that the idea that a stranger took him is too unbearable and could only end badly so let's basically HOPE MR did something, like hide him or anything that results in a live Dylan. These are my words and I'm paraphrasing, but I thought it interesting. Plus all of the language from CR like ' he's involved' , not necessarily DONE it but involved somehow. They are hoping and praying MR has him stashed somewhere but I that seems so unlikely after all this time. The one thing very interesting is that at some point in the first few days or so CR actually went and spend some time or the day with MR to discuss, lament, whatever and even after that meeting CR did not come away with a good feeling of MRs absolute innocence. That is the only time I know of that any of the family sat down and spent time with MR face to face. That CR left that meeting without KNOWING his father had nothing to do with this is NOT a good sign.
