You're probably right. Unfortunately, I really don't think he's the most obvious person to suspect, but that's not my call. I do hope there is eventually proof that will either convict him or clear him. If he's innocent, nobody should have to live like that; if he did do something to Dylan, than what's happening isn't punishment enough. MOO

I'm with you. I'd much rather compel myself to believe in someone's innocence and be wrong if they're later found guilty than to suspect or imply someone's guilt and have them found innocent later on.

It's not easy-- you have to a master of denial to really convince yourself, sometimes-- but I think it's a better path in the long run.

I did think it was odd he brought that up... why would that matter? who would need to know the last time Dylan was there what kind of plane ticket he bought?

because either he read, or someone told him, or his attorney advised him that: if he is ever arrested on this, the fact that he bought a one way ticket, on the day he learned he lost custody, combined with only buying enough food for 2 days, and no finalized plans for Thanksgiving, this could all point to premeditation. So, I think he was saying that during the interview to explain it away. JMO:jail:

It's no wonder that we're 35 threads and skatey-eight zillion posts in without a clear understanding of the situation. It seems like the circumstances and the major players defy our most fundamental sense of justice.

Bad things happen to good people. Unfair and tragic, but familiar-- it might bring anger and pain, but we've come to expect its presence in our lives and in society.

Good things happen to "bad" people. Less common, but still often present. This brings a deeper rage and indignation laced with a sharper bitterness. Lack of justice. Betrayal by the universe.

Bad things happening to "bad" people. Temptation to say "Aha! They get what they deserve!" Justice has been served. (please tell me I'm not alone in feeling that way sometimes?!)

IMO, what we might have here is something that defies the familiar categories. I'm not even sure what to call it. Maybe 'bad things happening to a jerk'? and so we're not quite sure how to assess this. MR seems deeply flawed-- probably not someone I'd choose as a friend.

If MR is innocent and is just a horribly awkward person with a history of being a jerk, is he so awful that he doesn't deserve some modicum of compassion? For a while, I was trying to keep up with FMDR and other sites that-shall-not-be-named, but there was so much ugliness. I feel bad for the non-WS folks that are relying on those sites for all their information.

It makes me feel grateful for the TOS and general guidelines and expectations of this forum.

I wonder how Dylans Grandmother is ?

Thanks for asking about her. She is not doing well. She wants to see Dylan come home though.

Are we allowed to quote from the "Gather" news site?

Are we allowed to quote from the "Gather" news site?

No, she hasn't been factual in more than one case. We don't allow CH as a source at all anymore.

Reminder:

If you want to post a fact, you must be able to "source" it. It still doesn't mean it's true, but you can consider it a fact if you can either link it or link to the post of a verified insider in this case.

If you can't link it, it's considered rumor and will be unapproved.

Thanks for letting me interrupt! Carry on! :rocker:

Great to see you back Ransom.

Was not LE that dismissed the postal worker.

IIRC I did come across it in MSM. Will search tomorrow for the link.

Most definately something that should be looked at and given some thought!!!

ER discounts the sightings -

But Elaine Redwine won’t hear of Dylan being a runaway and discounts reported sightings of the boy Monday and Tuesday afternoons.

there were no reports as to if the search has taken place yet (it was supposed to start last saturday per msm reports but they got a lot of bad weather that day)

Haven't heard any other msm reports on when the date is for the search with the K9 group but I have been keeping my eyes out for it.

The group that is bringing in the dogs has a note on their own organizations's FB page about the search timing, can we link to that?

Exactly how long has LE known about the alleged hispanic male whose vehicle ran out of gas? In November investigators specifically wanted to talk to anyone with pictures of vehicles. I'm sure this could be normal procedure when a child goes missing. In my opinion, it comes across as if LE was looking for a specific vehicle.

November 28, 2012 -

Specifically, investigators would like to talk to anyone who was taking photos or shooting videos that show vehicles along the typical routes between Vallecito and Durango from 6 p.m. Nov. 18 to noon Nov. 19. That would include County Road 501 and Florida Road (County Road 240).

Anyone who can supply a copy of his or her photos or videos is asked to call the La Plata County dispatch center at 385-2900.

November 29, 2012 -

Anyone who took photos or shot videos that included vehicles along County Road 501 and Florida Road (County Road 240) from 6 p.m. Nov. 18 to noon Nov. 19 is asked to share a copy with investigators. The county dispatch center may be contacted at 385-2900.

:what: Do you have links for that?

I'm sorry, mmagique and mods. I slipped. :blushing: It's from a page we're not allowed to link to. :blushing: I can't delete my post. There's no edit button on it even after I refreshed the page. I'm not sure what to do.

I wonder how Dylans Grandmother is ?

Here's a recent interview with his grandmother. It's very very sad.

“No child disappears just like poof. It’s impossible,” said Dylan’s 76-year-old grandmother, Maria Goodall.

Goodall, who has terminal cancer, said she had celebrated every birthday with Dylan since he was born.

“I want to see him before I die, and it won’t be long anymore, so I have to see him,” she said.

I know azgrandma is a verified insider, but are there other verified insiders on Dylan's case? If I'm reading a case and I want to know who the verified insiders are is there a way to search to find all of them at once? Like search the titles under people's names or something? Thank you!

Just caught up on the thread, there's a couple items from previous post that I wanted to comment on but for the life of me I can't figure out that dang double quote!

In regards to searching properties around the area, LE needs permission to enter the premises and property BUT there are exceptions. A Warrantless search is allowed in cases where there is a danger to life, danger of escape or danger of destroying evidence. There is also the plain view exception. There are ways that LE can "get around" these exceptions.
~Hey, did you hear a lady scream? Yeah I did. Ok, let's get in there.
~They may not be able to see over a 6 foot fence, but they sure as heck can see into a backyard from the air.

Regardless, I really doubt (IMO) that LE was just busting down doors to search. I would venture to guess that the homes that were occupied received permission. The homes that were not occupied (rentals) may have someone that is responsible for the property in the area that has a key. It doesn't take very long to call the home owner, ask permission and then get the key from the cleaning crew. (IMO)

<Mod Snip>
In regards to the footprints, I completely understand that there is a paved road. If the road is not well traveled a child may walk in the street (I did it as child in the neighborhood) so, yes footprints would not be on the paved road unless perhaps they were muddy footprints. There is also a shoulder that is made of dirt & rocks, where footprints would be seen. My point is that we can't discount or accept (IMO) footprints or the lack of footprints unless we know that Dylan would NEVER walk in the road.
