I don't understand why hitch hiking abduction is not a strong possibility.

36 threads in, there's a lot of information out there, some of which leads to other possibilities being more likely than that of a hitch-hiking abduction (IMO). There are links at the beginning of each thread, as well as an excellent timeline that was created by TxJan1971, although I don't know where that is located at the moment.

It is a resort area Otto.

Vallecito Lake area is a perfect destination for summer fishing vacations, summer and fall fly fishing, or winter ice fishing. And a great location to land a record breaking fish!

The area also offers world-class hunting for Elk, Deer, Bear and Turkey.

During the winter season, you and your family can enjoy miles of cross-country skiing and snowmobiling trails.

Many lodges, rentals etc. in the area.

I have been trying to post this without being completely disgusting or allowing my mind to go somewhere I don't want it to go, but frankly I can't figure out how. Depending on the time of year and type of animals someone might be hunting, especially anything that'd fit in a large sink, a motel laundry room could be pretty bloody and not suspicious. This has worried me about the area from the beginning.

Sorry for quoting my own post.

Not only is it a resort area, it was Thanksgiving week, school out for the week, thus the possibility of families/individuals utilizing the lodges, amenities et al.

oh, and the family will be taping a show for Dr. Phil on February 20

Nope. Sorry, but if we are going to quote LE this is the only thing they said about the 9:37 pm time:

Last electronic communication 9:37 pm (texting)

The did not specify if it was incoming or outgoing. They also did not specify if it was the cell or other "electronic communication"...of which there was the computer and ipod.

The reason for the debate is because many believe that dad took the phone away from Dylan shortly after 8 pm or that the battery went dead.
LE did not provide the last communication time until recently and the mother stated several times that the last activity on his cell record was at approx 8 pm. LE has not disputed this information provided by mom but they did add the wording electronic communication at a later time. There is MSM information regarding a conversation Dylan had with his friend R about their plans for the next day and the texts are shown in that convo. The conversation ends shortly after 8 pm and the mom said there wasn't anything more after that time.
MOO

Don't agree at all.

NANCY GRACE TRANSCRIPT
"GRACE: Everyone, taking your calls is Dylan`s mother. Now, Ms. Redwine, was -- did there come a time when you learned that Dylan was missing? How did that happen?

REDWINE: Well, his dad texted me at around, oh, 4:30. Maybe it was closer to 5:00 on Monday. And I texted him back. You know, it was like, Well, we should call the sheriff. So I went ahead and I actually called the sheriff that day. I don’t know if Mark had called the sheriff that day, either, but I called the sheriff right after I got the text from Mark. I went to my house, picked up a bag, grabbed my oldest son, Corey (ph), and we came to Durango."

Very rural Otto. One local quoted as saying "one way in, one way out". Very small town. Closest town would be Bayfield. Durango is in the opposite direction. Kind of like a triangle. Just Google map it. Vallecito. There is a large reservoir and dad lived several miles north of the reservoir. His friends were in Bayfield.

Is the airport is North ... was the MacDonald stop between the airport and home?

If this blows anyone's margins let me know ...
Do any of these letter correspond to the area where dad lived? I'd like to have a better look at the hitch hiking possibilities.

Well, I'm sorry, but that is LE statement and press release.

This I totally can relate to. It is a place I really do not want to go to.

Also it has been a record year for bears. I think the last time I looked it was over 100 either hit or sighted. Forget which one now. It was not yet hunting season IIRC, but often hunters will go out to scope the area.

I think the number of RSO is concerning and I have not even added the ones from New Mexico, which for an area like that would not be considered a long drive.

Much like the Mickey Shunick case, many utilize a number of different LE jurisdictions. I believe the final tally was 8 for Brandon Lavergne.

He went to New Orleans for the knife wounds, was seen by both New Orleans LE and SO.

Bike found in a different jurisdiction.

Burned his truck in Texas, and his half bio sister even picked him up afterwards.

Concerned citizen makes 2 phone calls to LE and he still is not on their radar.

Has meeting with probation officer on the 28th, wounds and all and does not worry probation officer.

Whites out his sex offender status on DL, and person calls LE.

Finally, Brandon Lavergne is on their radar.

Then he is finally picked up, and charged with another murder from 1999.

Not shooting anyone. I posted link to support what I said. Oh well...... AND there was no Press release at all about the last text message at 9:37 pm. IF you have one, please post. Only thing I read (above) was opinion. TIA

""He took me and Dylan once or twice and would not tell us where my mom was at," C said.

In this case, dad called mom to ask if she had heard from him. Had that ever happened before ... when he would not tell his son where his mom was?

I agree that I would have preferred a phone call, but that is just me. I hate texts. But, if it upset her, why didn't she just call him back to get more information or details? It didn't seem to upset her so why does it upset anyone else? jmo

Actual address is 2343 county rd 500 Bayfield per the assessor's site. If you put that into Google Maps, you'll see your map markers are too far south. They are up north of the lake, I think several miles.
