If his priority was to get to Bayfield, why didn't he reply to his friends texts from Bayfield?
As his friends stated, it was not unusual for Dylan to show up announced.
I would think this means he did not text or call them.

I don't understand your post. I was not commenting on that. I was commenting on the bolded portion about R's comment 'coming'. He was asking DR if he was coming to Grandma's. That is when DR told him no. jmo

Dylan Redwine: Cant come srry ill hang tommarow
Now I'm *really* *truly* out of this convo.
But he had a charger.
I don't think anyone considers him a murderer.
Here is the article The Cheese posted earlier. It focuses on a subset of child murders - those where the child is abducted or suspected to have been abducted. Interestingly, when compared to murders of children as a whole the stats are quite a bit different.
For instance, page 24 of the PDF shows a table that breaks male child abduction murders down by age band and relationship to the killer. Boys 13-15 were killed by strangers 60% of the time, by friend or acquaintance 40% of the time and 0% of the time by a family member. Remember, this study is specific to children that were reported as abducted or suspected abducted, not all murders in general.
Really worth a read.
Glad you found that study helpful, ColdHands. I wanted to point out though that those aren't the filicide statistics I was referring to when I responded to the poster you quoted. The filicide statistics were in a separate post I posted today. Thanks.
Im confused on the charger issue. Can you tell me how we know he had a charger? He could have lost it in route or maybe it broke. If he was texting and playing games on the flight and after his battery would have been dead on both phone and ipod.
Was it mentioned he had his charger at MR's house and I missed it?
Poor unlucky Dylan, indeed, if he awoke to an empty house, his phone did not work, he is too befuddled or backward to think about using a landline in some way, so he steps outdoors and is captured by a murderous predator before anyone can set eyes on him.
It sure would be nice if Dylan wasn't in a round about way being kinda' blamed for his disappearance.

The study above I posted for the section it has on body disposal, in regards to the discussion about the cadaver dog searches and where the SAR team is searching currently.
I believe Dylan was used to fending for himself.
The way his friends described the summer before, they met everday, hung out everyday, had pizza at the same place everday.
I am not even totally convinced that his cell was not working on the Monday morning.
I just think Dylan was used to doing as he pleased, when he pleased, and as ER stated, she would hear from him when he landed, whether that was that night or the next morning.
I'm just listening to the interview with dad and he said that there was a bus near his house and he would take the bus to his mom's house (when she lived close by) and "that's the way they liked it" ... where Dylan got around on his own ... so Dylan regularly traveled between his parents houses by bus ... and children that don't have bus fare may hitch hike.

Just to be clear, LE does have the iPod, correct? I know there was a news report that said an iPod was taken from the house. There probably are more MSM quotes but I'll post as I find them:
GRACE: OK, so that`s normal. What about the cell phone and the backpack and other belongings?
REDWINE: It was my understanding from his dad that everything Dylan had was in his backpack including his cell phone, his iPod, his iPod charger, his cell phone charger, all of his clothes. So we had to actually make a trip to get some of Dylan`s clothes from where we live in Colorado Springs because it was my understanding there were no clothes at his dad`s house.

I thought it was the school bus.
