This has always been my view on that was Elaine was told not to say anything and then Nacy backed her into a corner and then she had to say something .

Coz did Nancy not mention that she had over heard Elaine say something in the hallway ?
( it has been awhile so that may not be correct)

I agree. I believe ER was trying to avoid answering about what she didn't have direct knowledge. It's clear that she'd heard MR's polygraph was inconclusive, but perhaps not through official channels. As we know, MR has said it was inconclusive. MOO.

Here's the exchange from the transcript:

GRACE: Where is Dylan? He goes for a visit at his dad`s house. He touches down just fine. Dad picks him up at the airport. Dad leaves to run errands the next morning 7:30 AM. Dylan, 13-year-old, doesn`t want to get up. He`s never seen again.

And with me, taking your calls, his mom. With me, Elaine Redwine joining us tonight from Durango.

Elaine, you have taken and passed a police polygraph, is that correct?

REDWINE: Yes.

GRACE: And what kind of questions did they ask you?

REDWINE: You know, just basic questions, just trying to see if I was a good candidate for the polygraph.

GRACE: What do you know about the father`s polygraph?

REDWINE: You know, I don`t know much. I know that, you know, everyone is encouraging him to take that. So hopefully, he will do that soon so we can get him out of the picture, and you know, focus on where Dylan is.

GRACE: Has the father taken a polygraph?

REDWINE: You know, I`m not sure. I know he`s been asked to.

GRACE: Do you know if he took it?

REDWINE: I do not at this time, no.

GRACE: Is it your understanding that he`s failed a polygraph?

REDWINE: No, I don`t think he failed a polygraph. You know, I don`t know the specifics behind that. I don`t think he necessarily failed. But you know, I don`t have any information on that. So it`s real -- it`s real tough for me to answer that question.

GRACE: Elaine, when you were speaking earlier to our producers, you mentioned it was your understanding that he had failed a polygraph.

REDWINE: No, I didn`t say he had failed the polygraph.

GRACE: OK. Good. I`m glad you can clarify that. So what is your understanding, then?

REDWINE: I think it was inconclusive.

GRACE: Is he being asked to take another?

REDWINE: I believe so, yes, he is.

It always amazes me that Dylan could sit down and watch tv and eat breakfast but never at any point did he text R ..

I do not understand the second paragraph. What groups are active, and how would this better his chances of being alive?

If anyone has done any research there are some groups that live off the land. They cut themselves off from the rest of the world, thus no phones, internet, television, etc.

thepinkdragon told of her cousin that is in one, I believe in the beginning of the last thread. They as well cut themselves off from family and friends, doctors, schooling.

The first one that comes to mind is from the NG transcript and polygraphs.

1. MR failed.

2. Did not know if he took one.

3. She passed but they only asked questions to see if she was a good candidate.

4. MR's inconclusive.

5. Did not tell NG producers MR failed.

I was scratching my head as I did not know which version of her versions I should take as fact.
1. Quote from Elaine: "No, I didn`t say he had failed the polygraph."
2. Quote: "You know, I`m not sure. I know he`s been asked to."
3. Quote: GRACE: And what kind of questions did they ask you?
REDWINE: You know, just basic questions, just trying to see if I was a good candidate for the polygraph.
4. GRACE: OK. Good. I`m glad you can clarify that. So what is your understanding, then?
REDWINE: I think it was inconclusive.
5. Same as 1.

I am not sure where you see inaccurate information. She said she knew he'd been asked to, but that doesn't mean someone ELSE didn't tell her he had taken one and it had been inconclusive. She also said:
REDWINE: No, I don`t think he failed a polygraph. You know, I don`t know the specifics behind that. I don`t think he necessarily failed. But you know, I don`t have any information on that. So it`s real -- it`s real tough for me to answer that question."

She might have wanted to check with Mark himself or LE and hadn't yet. She never said he failed a test in this interview, anyway.

But if he did run out of gas, it is hard to see how he managed to kidnap a teen without a running vehicle.
They did not say what kind of vehicle he wanted the gas for. It could have been an ATV.

I predict that psychics will not solve this case. Like they haven't solved thousands of others in which they've wasted untold LE time and resources.

And being psychic used to be my job. I still am one, though retired from reading now. The ethics (or lack of) among my former peers was my biggest sore point, and speaking out against that is the reason I ceased being invited to their reindeer games.

I just loathe it when psychics cluster around crimes like flies, each convinced they have the 'truth'. It's a bit like a gang of tiny little fundamental religions each with a single member - all think they're in possession of THE truth. And none of them ever are.

/end rant. and apologies. Just, I saw some hearse chaser or other posting on Dylan's FB wall and wanted to slap them. Hard.

eta: the above is written with profuse apologies to the 0.05% (in my estimation) of 'professional' psychics capable of actually helping a case, rather than making things far worse for everyone involved, especially the families. From my long-term experience, I highly doubt anyone who boasts about 'working with' police is among that number.

Thank You. Beautiful post and well said. I was a professional astrologer for many years, and had much the same experiences you describe. Sadly, there is a fine line between brilliance and batsshit-crazy.

I originally came here because of the Forensic Astrology forum, in fact. [ I miss that place.]

I've always wondered if that's why NG doesn't agree to do another show. MOO

No offense, but in IMO, this is the unlikeliest scenario of all I have heard.
I am aware of such groups, but I do not believe abducting children is a part of their agenda.

Sigh...I'm just jumping off your post.

The footprint conversation got started because it has been stated in a way that due to ER not finding any footprints, it was another indication that Dylan never made it to the house.

ER did talk about not finding footprints, but I think others took it out of context and ran with it.

FYI - I have a gravel driveway at both of my houses and you can't see foot prints in my driveways.

When I read ER's statement, I took it as her saying it was an indication that D did not go hiking or fishing or hitchhiking that morning---not necessarily evidence that he never made it to the house.

Her statement was seemingly in response to a comment about the rumor that his scent was picked up down the road from his dad's house. And she said that they walked all around the area looking for his footprints. JMO

But if he was sneaking around looking to kidnap a kid, why the heck would he talk to people and allow himself to be recognized?

Maybe he wasn't looking for one, but took advantage of it when the opportunity presented itself. MOO

I was just reading new posts over on FMDR FB. They are really really pumped and excited about the Dr Phil taping they just did. They say it is a 2 day show. Possibly Tues/Wed.

And the family all signed agreements not to talk about what happened before it airs. HOWEVER, some audience members went on to the FB and revealed a few interesting things.

Maybe, as it is always a sad possibility. I wish we knew more about the tip and what they saw.

Yes, there was some episode about child abuse that was a two parter that I saw once, and it did have a polygraph with results the second day (sensationalism at it's best)

I think DR Phil probably asked MR to take one. [ go look at the FMDR Fb. Audience members who were at the taping seem to be implying that ..]

I hope the Dr Phil show will get uploaded at some point as being in the u,k I won't be able to watch it .

Being without a tv, I won't either.

(According to sources close to the investigation, both Mark Redwine and his ex-wife, Elaine Redwine, took polygraph tests shortly after their son’s disappearance on Nov. 19. Elaine Redwine allegedly passed the test, Mark Redwine’s results were reportedly inconsclusive.)

( Dan Bender, a spokesman for the La Plata County Sheriff’s office, said he could not comment on polygraph tests, or even confirm if they had been administered.
“We cannot show all our cards, so to speak, he said. “If were to keep the public informed, we also would be keeping potential suspects informed.”)

No they wouldn't but they would accept a teen into their community if one were brought there.

I keep hoping they will find something but I'm starting to think its highly doubtful :(

I don't even know where she would start if they can't find a scent at the house .
