Sorry, Angelonline.... :-(

I also asked my 87 year old dad to watch Dr. P. I told him not to tell me what he thinks until after Day 2.

When it was over, he told me to go downstairs and bring up his old boxing gloves and he'll have a go at him... (He can't stand unaided) LOL

He thinks MR has him squirreled away and doesn't know how to get out of it.

Quite possibly. And the show aired on Nickelodeon until 2004. It now plays on MTV.

Elaine says he watches MTV, so that could have been where he saw it. I believe it was also on TBS not very long ago. Plus, Cory is older so he could have introduced Dylan to the show.

I asked a couple of men what they thought and they said they wouldn't have taken the lie detector test either. They said they felt he had been ganged up on by Elaine, Cory and even Dr. Phil and that if they had been Mark, they would have shut down and not done anything Dr. Phil wanted them to do. I guess I just know passive aggressive men!!!

I know it is easy to get off track and we all want answers for Dylan, but remember we are only allowing the FMDR Facebook page. So please keep that in mind.

TIA

Thanks for your input. You have made a lot of significant contributions to this thread.
If you don't mind...was your nephew found safe and sound?

Thanks for asking, Yes he was, it was a teenage love weekend getaway, when he was located, besides being grounded, he learned the importance of never turning off cell phones and causing others to worry again !!

Good to know and I'm sure glad he came home safe! Must have aged his poor family about 10 years...kids!

I guess the point is that if he likes that show it is on MTV. He lists two other shows on his FB from MTV. The other three shows are on network tv. There is no indication that he liked or watched Nickelodeon. Although back when he was younger he might have.

I really believe that most of what MR described about Dylan was from a long time ago. I think even ER is trying to elude to this when she says that MR did not really know him.

I'd still like to know, with the exception of the Labour Day weekend, when was the last time Dylan stayed with MR overnight at the home in Vallecito.

I don't think MR really knew Dylan. And his stories seem to reflect that.

I probably would have walked out after about 15 minutes, but I'm NOT very passive aggressive! If MR is as hot tempered and violent as people say, I think that may be part of why his emotions seemed so flat on there. It must have been taking every ounce of strength he had to avoid flying off the handle completely and becoming (in front of millions of people) exactly what he has been accused of for the past few months, or maybe the bast 50+ years... When I can't get in touch with my parents (who are perfectly healthy, not elderly, etc) I immediately panic and go look for them. If my child were missing I would go complete insane!! BTW, NCAnalyzer my DS will be 5 tomorrow (well actually today it's 1:35am) and we are also in NC!

:what: A phone kicked the bucket! I myself have had several phones die unnatural deaths, but I was starting to think others had phones that lived forever.
Just teasing a little Ghostwheel :)
ETA and should have added not teasing you!
Tease all you like. I have to tell you, that phone lasted for three years with my DD, then three more years with me, when suddenly the operating system just blue screened (this is an old Motorola Razr flip phone, mind you-I replaced it with another used Razr, BTW). I don't know of anyone who gets 6 years out of a phone.

<modsnip>
I think that "PI" person, who apparently offered up his services for free to MR, spent some time with him attempting to go over the time line and events on a few occasions, and after spending that time with him he realized what an impossible task it was going to be to help him find anything that didn't point directly to him.

I don't know this guys credentials. <modsnip>I think he just decided that if he wanted to actually make a go of the PI business, this was not the client he wanted to make a name for himself with. Especially for free.

I don't blame him in the least for bailing on MR if that's what's happened.

My dad has a mobile phone that is at least 10 years old . My brother had it , I had it and my dad has now had it about 6 years . It's a old Samsung flip phone and it still works . So some phones can just go on and on.

With regards to the phone, since Dylan's last "electronic communication" was at 9:37pm, and if we are to consider that perhaps it was the phone, we don't know what that text was. We don't know if he was in the middle of a conversation when communication stopped with him. And if he was, and the phone did die, MR, according to his own story, was still up for an hour after that. If the phone died, Dylan would have told him about it. If it was just the battery, Dylan could have plugged it in and continued on.

Dylan's texting habits would suggest that if he was still up at 10:30pm, as per MR, he would still be texting with his friends past 9:37pm. He had a lot of friends, not just in Bayfield. And every one of them was on holiday for the week.

Did you ask how he could be doing this for so long? How you would get someone to help kidnap a child? I go crazy over this, as I cannot believe MR could have anyone who would risk their future for him, and for what? I am really curious as to who ( not names, lol, relationship-wise) people think would actually do this AND be invisible to LE's best efforts.

Forget about motive, although I find it hard to believe someone could pull this off, obviously planned, and not have a motive and a result in mind. I cannot get past the "who" as far as an accomplice, that would not surface on LE's radar in all of this time.

I can understand if he was stressed after the show. It started out OK, but after Mark started talking in (what I consider) circles, it did go south. IMO,if he didn't want to take the test, he shouldn't have taken the test, but he should have just said so. The words "I don't think I can take the polygraph under these conditions." aren't so hard to say, and they would be understandable. Especially if he were to say, "Could I come back in a week by myself to take the test?"

For myself, I could not imagine NOT taking the test. And I am a person who failed the question "Is your name....?" and it WAS my name--they had given me five baseline question, and that one was supposed to be the sixth and the indicator jumped all over the place. I had to come back the next day, when I passed knowing my name. I passed the rest, too, BTW.

Awwww...hugs to your little guy! Actually, I took the time into consideration when I posted about her birthday...it's actually March 4th! But one of my grandson's birthday is Mar 3rd...Happy Birthday Ryan!

OT, but people here probably think I'm full of BS if they are really following my posts...one minute I'm referring to an adult grandson and the next minute I'm talking about my 16 yr old daughter, so just to clarify (because it is my "story", lol) I have (had) 5 children.
I raised 4 children together with my first husband. We divorced and life goes on. The children grew up, youngest at home was 17 and I was already a grandmother 4x over when I found myself "expecting" at the ripe old age of 42. (God does have a sense of humor!). I now have 13 grandchildren. I was pregnant the same time as my oldest 2 daughters and we had 3 babies between us, within 5 months....less than a year later 2 more grandchildren arrived. So my youngest daughter pretty much grew up with my grandchildren as playmates, even though she is technically their auntie. And my oldest grandson has been living with me for about a year. He's 22.
And that is my story!

Got to love those flip phones.

Mine have been lucky to last 2 years each time. Not from overuse or anything, but they just don't seem to last long with me anyway. One met with a soggy ending after being accidentally dropped into the cupholder in my car (which contained a cup at the time) - the others have all just faded away and not worked any more. It's been years since I have seen a flip phone here in Australia, but wouldn't be surprised if they are making a comeback. I wouldn't mind one as I am terribly rough on touch screens.
O/T sorry :)
