Has LE ever said they do not wish the family to go ahead with searching the lake?

Have LE ruled out the lake ?
Have LE ruled out the lake ?
The lake has been searched by a search and rescue team from the New Mexico State Patrol. That team included dogs, divers, several boats and sonar.
But there were complications. Because of the lakes depth averaging 30 to 40 feet, the altitude of the lake and temperature of the water, divers could stay down only 20 minutes a day, Bender said.
The dogs, however, alerted to human scents at a few spots in the lake, which the divers searched.
There was nothing suspicious found, he said. Having said that, its almost 12 miles around the lake. Its very large and thats not to say there isnt a chance that Dylan could be in the lake. But we checked it as thoroughly as we could at that time.
You know, I am thinking things like this right now. If LE has ruled out the lake, I would love to know why they ruled it out, and ask them how much certainty they have that Dylan is not in there. Since I can't ask them, I was hoping maybe someone here could try to find plausible explanations as to why they would have ruled it out. Anyone?
I don't think that LE has ruled out Dylan being in the lake. I would like to know why they haven't announced any further LE sanctioned searches of the lake and if none are planned I would like to know the reason why.
That's something I would like to know too. Sorry guys, I didn't mean to imply they did rule the lake out, just asking if they were to say tomorrow they have ruled it out and that's why they aren't planning to have searches(though it was mainly my curiosity at why haven't they planned to search the lake?)
You really would think that if they had nothing else to go on they would search the lake to at least attempt to rule it out and would have a search of it planned...
The only reason that I can come up with that explains why LPCSO has not announced any further searches of the lake is because they don't plan on doing any. Is it because Dylan's family and supporters are going to fund a private search? Is it because the county budget precludes them from doing another search? Or maybe something else?
I think that the sheriff owes the citizens of La Plata county an answer. MOO.
I thought LE had not really "cleared" the lake. In fact, I am not sure it is possible to do so. And as far as we can tell, they do not have any better ideas as to where Dylan could be.
I think they already said why. They said the search was complete, and unless they got new info, they weren't going to search it again. (paraphrased)
I haven't found anything from LE or the state police divers that indicates their search was inadequate or incomplete.
They haven't received any new info that I know of - the K-9 Forensics report that their dogs alerted is info LE already had before they searched, so not new.
I think I'm the only one here who sees it this way, but I just don't see any reason for LE to search again.
I do understand Elaine, as Dylan's mother, having anxiety and questions and wanting to do it again, with people she selects. I support her in doing it, and I hope very much it helps her.

My favorite (sarcasm, here) parts of the article:http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/fire-rescue/divers-searching-missing-airman-find-body-lake-mead
Not about Dylan but an interesting article about a lake drowning recovery that happened in my town this week. The conditions were extremely windy and yet they still managed to find this fella in 280 feet of murky water in two days. Gives me great hope that if someone is in the lake a good search team will find them.
