When a town law enforcement entity puts out a BOLO, does it go just to the officers in their jurisdiction or would it go to the county too? Do you suppose the Bayfield Marshall referred MR to LPCSO upon the realization that he didn't even live in town?

I agree with you Ranch, who reported Dylan missing to the correct agency is an non issue for me. No report/contact with any agency would be of interest, but not the way this played out.

I imagine they can control whether a BOLO goes out within their town or to all towns in their county, but I don't know.

MR does live in Bayfield. Vallecito is a sub-area within Bayfield. It's like a district or something.

And I think way as you and Ranch on who reported Dylan missing first. It's not important to me. I just want to see a parent contact LE and express that they can't locate their child. That's what's important to me.

Yep and that was November or December time. Now i know MR has been hiding away (IMO) but even he should of known the fact that all sightings was not Dylan by February time. And to go on a national tv show and try and damage your son's chances of being found because you do not have the correct facts at hand is astounding :cow:

So, given the context of this statement, do you think that the postal carrier was part of that effort to damage Dylan's chances of being found?

This was November 30th - i hope this link is allowed on here?

Sighting turned out to be a jogger

Those were the sightings by the rescue workers, not the postal worker.

From your link:

Afternoon: Two rescue workers think they may have seen Dylan on two separate occasions but say he fled into the forest. One of the sightings turned out to be a jogger; the other sighting may have been the same jogger or Dylan.

I think (I looked at maps before) that MR's home is outside the town of Bayfield, even if his mailing address is Bayfield. If there was a burglary at MR's house, it's the sheriff who has jurisdiction.

That's what I thought - that it was only a post on facebook. That's why I couldn't take it as fact. I needed a LE statement saying they confirmed the boys were not Dylan.

But everyone in town KNEW that those sightings were debunked. The postal worker knew and MARK KNEW. He was just being dishonest on the Dr Phil show to try and look innocent, imo.

Okay thank you, Bayou. I didn't know MR's home was the sheriff's jurisdiction.

If your saying that people are being dishonest, I think that a link to support that allegation would be nice. How do we know that everyone in town knew those sightings were debunked?

I know that's how you see it, katy. I just see it differently. I don't feel I know that everyone in town knew, and I don't feel I know if the postal worker and MR knew. Basically because I haven't seen that LE knew. And if LE can't confirm something, IMO nobody else can either.

Bottom line, for me, is that now I'm just glad that LE found the kids, talked to them, and were able to confirm it wasn't Dylan, because now I can cross that off my list.

All my :cow:

I have no idea what her agenda was. But as the parent of Dylan i judge him for the fact that he went on a tv show and tried to make people believe that he was not the last person with his son when that has never been proven to this day.

IMO - Only a guilty person would do that!! :cow:

ETA - Nobody else apart from MR gains by him trying to say that Dylan was seen Monday afternoon!!

T: ok that makes sense, you called the mediator, why not just call Elaine and talk to her?

MR: well I think if you listen to what Elaine said and I think you will probably kind of hear something similar to me…I don't think that either one of us to be honest with you wants to talk to the other, I think
because of the communication that we've had during the course of our divorce we don't talk to each other and and and most of our communication is done email. and the case with Dylan , ya know obviously, ya know I texted her from the marshals office when I was there expressing my concerns tot the marshal, expressing my concerns because at that point I realized that his friends hadn't seen or heard from him all day, that being said, it was just a, it was just the most , most natural way to communicate with her because I know how she is and ya know what, quite frankly we're not married anymore and I don't need her to talk to me the way she did when we were married. I'm, I'm , I'm a human, I'm a father and somebody you can sit down and have a civil conversation with…you don't need to start yelling at me..you don't need to start going off on me…ya know I certainly understand that in the large part that emotions run deep in situations like this and moms tend to be a little more vocal with their emotions and I don't have a huge problem with that until it starts becoming accusatory
and various other things and then I just shut down…its my nature, it's what I do.

====================================================

I find this paragraph interesting because he makes it sound like after he told her about their son going missing, that Elaine constantly hounded him and called and yelled at him accusingly and he just had to block her calls. But according to what we heard back at the start of this, Mark blocked her calls from the very first moment this began. He texted her from the marshals office, and NEVER spoke to her about Dylan being missing at all.

No wonder she was so frustrated with him. And it makes me wonder. Because if he was really wanting help figuring out where Dylan might be, who better to speak to than Elaine and Cory? They know the friends names and where they live and who he talks to still and some of the phone numbers. But apparently he had no interest in any of that info.

LE KNEW. The kids came forward to LE. Mark absolutely knew about it too. At the time he was still 'working' closely with Denise Hesse and she had it posted in the search headquarters, her video store. Mark knew about it, and his 'pretending' that he didn't is one of the many things that makes him look shady, imo.

ETA: At the time that the postal worker came forward with that sighting, several others had similar 'sightings.' Someone saw the two boys at the Vallecito market and others saw them at the Mexican Restaurant and everyone in town was buzzing about the fact that Dylan had been seen in and around town. But finally the two boys realised that THEY were the kids being described in these sightings. And they came forward and said they had been in those same places on those days.

So IMO, the whole town KNEW those were faulty sightings. Mark obviously heard about it too.

I agree to disagree with you on this point. As others have said, I need some sort of verification beyond a conversation on facebook and statements that "everyone" knew. I further can not believe that a postal worker would deliberately mislead anyone on this issue. Clearly everyone did not know.

You know what would be great? If one of them would just publish that text exchange, in full, both sides. Otherwise it's just he said/she said, and I just don't ever like to get in the middle of those situations.

i have tried to find a link saying the sighting was debunked but at the moment i can only see a post by Cheese back in December saying

I've been keeping tabs on the postal worker sighting, and police have neither confirmed it was Dylan, nor ruled out that it was Dylan.

One news article says it was "discounted", but gives no source.

A comment on the Find Dylan FB says it wasn't Dylan.

Also from poster Txjan1971

Possible sightings of Dylan have streamed in from across the country, he* said, but there have been no confirmed sightings since he went missing Nov. 19. The FBI has been helpful at prodding agencies in other jurisdictions to follow up on possible leads, Shupe said.

Well if everybody knew, then please give a link to MSM or a LE press release. If you're asking me to accept posts and rumors on facebook as fact, I can't. If you're asking me to accept your opinion as fact, I can't. I'm sorry.

No matter what, Elaine deserved a PHONE CALL AND A CONVERSATION about her son being missing. No he said or she said about that, imo. If he decides to block her AFTER a phone convo, then fine. But even he admits, he texted her to tell her that her son was missing. I think that was a cowardly and cold thing to do. JMO

Right. And I certainly wasn't debunking it. Obviously, I was saying it was not debunked.

Interesting that there was at least one news article back in December saying it was discounted.

Right. And I certainly wasn't debunking it. Obviously, I was saying it was not debunked.

But you DID find one news article that said it was already discounted. So there was some msm saying it was not valid.
