I don't think that Dylan was 'troubled.'
This competition over ER and MR is fierce.
BUT - WHERE IS DYLAN?
Salem
Quite possible.
One scenario I had considered was that Dylan and MR were already having a difficult time of it by the time they entered Walmart. As they came to the place where cell phone picked up again, MR lost it and heaved the backpack into the lake. There could have been a struggle for the back pack or after it was heaved. Dylan was hurt, MR ignored that. Dylan made it to MR's house but didn't make it through the night. MR, unable to accept any kind of responsibility for anything, proceeded with a cover-up attempt.
So we are sort of are on the same wave length. Only I have it in reverse order. (Back pack in the lake and MR having transported Dylan somewhere or hidden him on the property.) But I have never really thought of MR transporting Dylan or evidence out of the area on his work travels. Very interesting thought.

I just want to go on record as saying I disagree. Respectfully, as always.I personally think that anyone who sticks with the "facts" and doesn't consider all the personal opinions of others will come to the same conclusion as AlwaysShocked.
Question about the interview- IF Mark Redwine is involved, what do you make of him saying Dylan's not close to his house? Is this because if he's involved 1) he knows where Dylan is and it's not near his home or 2) he's trying to get searchers away from his home because Dylan is there?
Which one would be more important- A) being right about where Dylan is/is not or B) trying to diver everyone's attention away from where Dylan actually is? We might think B would be the logical answer.
But then I think of this:
- Casey Anthony telling her parents in a jail visit video that Caylee was "close to home," when in fact her remains were right down the street from her home. It would have made more sense for her to try to divert attention away from her home. If someone commits a crime like this, however, they are hardly doing what makes sense.
- Shaun Adkins, the POI in Hailey Dunn's disappearance telling LE (I believe in a lie detector test) that Hailey was in Scurry County. That's indeed the county where she was found. It's also an area LE knew Shaun was very familiar with because he had a family member who lived there, very close to where the remains were found. He also went to that family member's home the day Hailey disappeared. Again, wouldn't it have made more sense for him to try to draw inverstigators' attentions away from that area? But he didn't.
So IF Mark is responsible for Dylan going missing, with the above thoughts in mind, do you think that means Dylan is not close to his home or is close to his home? IF Mark is responsible, is he telling the truth about where Dylan is even though that doesn't make sense or is he trying to divert attention away from where Dylan is?
Okay - let's drop the talk about Dylan being troubled, please. We have no facts to indicate such - not from his friends or his parents or LE.
Yes - all teens have their crosses to bear and even so, most teens are fairly happy and well-adjusted. Dylan, from everything we know about him, appears to be a happy, well adjusted teenager, with solid friends and a family that loves him and misses him.
So... let's stop talking about his being troubled.
Thanks,
Salem
I wonder too about transient or touristy RSO's....how would they even go about identifying someone like that?
Good question. Where IS Dylan? We had a list of possibilities once.So now we need to fight over the opinion of another sleuth? Interesting.

Another thought, do all the campgrounds in the area require ID to check in. In other words, how easy would it be for a cash paying customer to lie about their identity?
AlwaysShocked said that they were new to the case. Thus they are not aware of the inconsistencies in MR's past version of the stories. Nor are they aware of the reasons that ER might be a tad bitter at this time. I will be curious to see if they have the same comments after they read more about the events surrounding this case. JMO
I recently rented a beachside campground in Malibu state park for my DD's birthday weekend. I had to show my Drivers license and another form of ID as well. I don't know if that is only California or not though.
I have been to quite a few campground, tent camping, RV camping and even cabin rentals, but I don't recall having to show my ID. Wait, on the cabin rental it was required because it was on a military discount so military ID was needed.
