IMO, the info that came out today was helpful. Many have wondered if MR worked. We now know he has an out of town/long distance job, so setting up appts during the week he's back makes more sense.
We know dad's still questioning LE's work, as he hasn't been able to reach his task force contact/get info since Fri. Could just be Patterson's been working nonstop since Dylan's case broke and had time off. Could be LE's developed info that can't be shared with fam yet...or something. Elaine continues to have faith in LE's work in this case.
Mom had discussed safety and not hitchhiking with Dylan, and doesn't think he would. Dad's said he's trying To wrap his mind around the hitchhiking idea. It is one avenue LE is still checking into.
(Some thought it odd that Elaine would've discussed hitchhiking with Dylan. I didn't. My son's my world, and as he's grown, I've always tried to treat him his age, but also keep in mind I'm raising him to be a young man one day. When teachable moments appear, we discuss them. If we saw a hitchhiker, it'd definitely trigger a mutual conversation that he'd hopefully file away. People have said hitching's common there: given they lived there until recently, seems the opportunity probably presented itself.)
Per MR, the reservoir is still of interest to LE.

the news yesterday continues to fill in info we didn't have previously. LE had said last week it was down to runaway or foul play. They then confirmed they eliminated runaway as a possibility (just as they did lost in the woods), so it seems we're left with foul play/criminal investigation which would eliminate animal attack or accidental fall (into the lake or elsewhere).
So, IMO,
progress is being made in finding Dylan. I'm really hoping they find him alive and soon, although sadly I don't think he's still with us. Would be thrilled to be wrong about that!
