So his flight was TWO days later than originally booked. Yeah, mechanical probs for 2 days seems......unusual.

Since the 17th flight would have been a Friday after school, I wonder if Dylan had things in Colorado Springs that he wanted to do over the weekend and really didn't want to go til Sunday night. Then to turn around and drive all the way back 2 days later, I can only imagine what he might have thought of that.

Except that there aren't going to be a ton of flights into Durango, it isn't exactly O'Hare ... and it was the weekend before a holiday ... and it was stated that they had some specific requirements for the flights ... so if the original flight was canceled due to mechanical issues, it certainly might have taken a day or so to find another appropriate flight.

I flew from Salt Lake to Denver the other day, and the man on the plane next to me was trying to get to Medford OR, and he had been delayed a full 28 hours because of a "mechanical" issue. Sometimes I think that is airline-speak for "There weren't enough paying customers on this flight, so we canceled it and filled up some other planes instead." If you are going into a less-traveled airport, it can really take a while to rearrange things.

I think its way to far a distance to even think of hitching a ride. Isnt it 20 miles?
and if Dad said something like yu go now or not at all Id bet my last dollar Dylan would have been up and dressed and out the door with him JMO.

Im not buying the too tired story.

he also had a friend in Vallecito. It is possible he tried to walk to that friend's house to get a ride

Wow, that's a pretty intense music choice for a 3 year old. I wonder if someone played it to him a lot? My son is 2 and his favorite song is Wheels on the Bus, i cannot imagine him coming to me in a year and saying a song like this was his favorite. If he does, i will be a little worried.

I used to listen to that song a lot but i associated a different meaning to it. Many interpret it as the singer singing it to his son after being separated. Sounds like the Redwine Marriage went through years of turmoil and poor Dylan was stuck in the middle absorbing it all.

well, he lives there.

Also, there are scent discrimination dogs. They were used in the Isabel Celis case as well as the Missing Iowa Cousins' case (just to name a few)

I don't know how sophisticated those dog's noses are but I would think that if my son was missing and the last place he slept was on the sofa under a rumpled blanket that would be the last place I would plant myself on. I don't know how many times I've heard 'don't touch anything, leave everything as you found it' from TV shows. If LE had already determined that Dylan's scent wasn't there or not strong enough then IMO that means the bed stuff has been left there ever since Dylan disappeared and that makes me believe that MR may not be fastidious on his housecleaning which makes me think that the bowl, spoon or anything else Dylan handled would probably be laying around so why didn't LE find Dylan's scent so the dogs could track him?

You know in all the pics of Dylan's family posted on fb and MSM, I've not seen one of him and his Dad.

would the facebook be the mother's side of the family (or administrated from that side???)? if so then that would fit with all the rest:twocents:

Still trying to catch up after my errands this morning, but this is a thought I've had a few times in the last couple days and I really want to post it now. Forgive me if someone else has said it.

If Dylan disappeared in the clothes he had on at the airport, Walmart and McDonalds, then I really really really wish LE would release a shot of him from those surveillance cameras. If he was abducted, then wouldn't it be nice for folks to have the best idea possible about how Dylan looked that morning?

LE isn't releasing that pic yet. That makes me really worry about why they aren't.

Me too, we saw a bunch of C. Anthony, Elizabeth & Lyric on their bikes, heck even ICE released 2 pics from a vid of a teen age boy they wanted to find and did. There has been numerous video's released of missing kids, just doesn't make sense to not release it. jmo

Back when I was a teenager and now as the mom of a teenage boy, I can assure you teens like and need to sleep. My sons missed out on some great stuff he really wanted to do because he was too tired to get up and so have I.

Do we have any idea what airline he flew. Do the majors fly into that airiport? tia

Yes, it looks like Frontier and United would be the possibilities for him, and I think they all go through Denver. So if he was going to fly to Durango, he would have to go COS-DEN-DRO. I think what MR was trying to say was that they wanted him on a direct flight (not a nonstop) so that he wouldn't have to navigate the Denver airport to get on his second flight to Durango, because I'm not sure it's possible to fly nonstop from COS to DRO except charter. And I seriously doubt they chartered a plane ....

I would like more confirmation or clarification about ' the scent trail to the lake.'

I have never read anything other than that one sentence posted upthread, about any dogs following Dylan's scent to the lake. Do we have any other links to any thing like that.

I remember doing a google search for SARX to help get her up to speed about the dog searches, and all I found were the cadaver dogs ON THE LAKE, but NOTHING about scent dogs following a trail to the lake.

as a matter of fact, in the newest post update at the Family FB, they say specifically that
bloodhounds had not been used at dad's house, and they were working now at bringing some in.

In my experience 3 year olds love what you make them listen to!

Yeah, I agree it would be an odd choice for a 3 year old to come up with on his own. My son had "favorite" songs too at that age and it was usually what I was listening to over and over again. Could have been the favorite song of whoever Dylan was around...,and not really DR.

It's frightening to me that NOW they're looking into bloodhound!

I know back in my younger days a song may be a fave simply due to the music. Heck half the time i didn't even know what the lyrics meant or even care.

Someone wearing a backpack in extremely cold water is in trouble, no matter how good of a swimmer he is. Sometimes things happen, and in cold water, it takes only seconds to become incapacitated.

If he tripped and bumped his head and was unconscious, he cannot swim OR if he tripped and broke or sprained an arm or leg , he wouldn't be able to swim as he normally does.
