This attorney has been around LS for too long, he's talking in word salad circles himself now.

Is it me or does Mr Allen look really p*ssed off?

Talking about family history and reported abuse. Setting up to imply her early life was disorganised.

She reported multiple miscarriages. Witness says it's not relevant to determining competency.

He's saying a drug she was prescribed was an 'unusual' drug. She flat out denies this. Also talking about the Lorazepam.

"Prescribing is outside my scope of practice."

Clarifying that a 'rule out' diagnosis means something needs to be ruled out, not that it has been. And that it doesn't necessarily go to competency what that possible diagnosis is.

Takes potential bias from deputies into account when using their information.

People with DID can score higher on the MMPI2. She says that is completely different to the feigning tools she used.

Talking about LS's complaints about 'solitary' now through the kite system.

Talking about there being differences between how well individual people do in solitary.

Went a bit inception then.. he asked if a system member of a DID system could potentially feign mental illness.

He's wrong that all system members besides the 'day to day' self are 'locked' in the time of creation.

He just said the vampire stuff was BS in the way a child would make it up. (I don't think he realises just how recently the Twilight books and movies were made. LS would have been an adult.)

Anyone who practices medicine in a jail or prison has to become familiar with a broad array of slang terms that are unique to the correctional setting. One such word is "kite." In a jail or a prison, the term "kite" refers to a written request for something.

Kites can be made for anything, but those of us in the medical department deal with medical kites. A typical usage could be this:

Inmate: "I need to see the doctor. I'm sick."

Officer: "Well, fill out a kite then."

"Kite" can be a noun, as in: "Fill out this kite."

"Kite" can also be a verb, as in: "I kited medical but haven't seen the doctor yet."

In my experience, usage of the slang term "kite" is almost universal in correctional facilities. It would be hard to exaggerate how common this term is. The word "kite" is recognized all over the country from the Deep South to New England and the West Coast. It is used in jails and prisons, state and federal facilities, and both adult and juvenile facilities. And since medical requests in jails and prisons are made frequently, the word "kite" is an everyday word.

I find this cross insulting. I get he is a defense attorney and needs to do a job, but imo, it’s bs. He is coming across as condescending and it appears attempting to “trip” the doctor up with her testimony. He is rambling too. All speculation.

Why is defense attorney trying to educate the witness? He’s using buzz words and buzz terms in the same way I might try to bluff someone into thinking I know a lot about basketball.

This tactic could backfire with the jury so carry on counselor…

Bet she never admitted to any of these Professionals that she "hated" her Stepson.

All this guff he is using to try to confuse the jury and wasting everybody's time with, and all Mr Young needs to do is come back and ask if any of the things Mr Tolini talked about would constitute insanity!.

I agree, I do think she is doing a great job of shutting him down though.

He tries to get the witness to confirm LS had disorganized thinking at times.
The witness flat out says, NO. She was very organized and very garrulous. She was wordy but not irrelevant.

Does Mental Illness lead to Murder? Or to break the law?
