Compulsive lying is a symptom of Anti-Social Personality Disorder; it's not a symptom of mental illness.

Says LS was NOT tangential, that she did talk in circles but always stayed on topic.

She's not budging on LS's speech being potentially evidence of disorganised thought. 'Organised and garrulous.' Not disorganised.

Says that her belief she could raise someone from the dead was not delusional because it was in the context of a religious belief. Says it was different because it was a 'shared belief' with others of the same religion in step with others who share that faith. It's when people take it to another level outside of what that religion believes that it becomes of concern.

Redirect.

Someone on the prosecution side just won a bet she was Scottish, I think. Scottish was my first guess, too.

He's asking her about trauma and psychosis. She said anecdotally it's something that they know exists. Talking about PTSD anything between immediate and years later onset.

They're talking about trauma and retraumatisation now.

On deliberately killing a child as a potentially traumatic event. "I would expect if the person was traumatised by that there would be signs of that."

And he's bringing it to - do people with DID typically kill people. No. It's not a known phenomenon or part of the criteria. Or for any serious mental illness. Do the majority of people with serious mental illness function in society? Do the obey the laws? They can, yes.

If LS was disturbed by her confinement in the jail, it wouldn't speak to her state of mind at the time of the offense.

Forensic examinations, it is not appropriate that defense or prosecution be present. Has never been requested. No reason for anyone to observe it because it's being video recorded.

Jury questions now.
Can a difficulty or inability to face evidence or to be rigorously honest or face consequences be indicative of a mental disability, no. Can they be indicative of childhood trauma or BPD.

Can compulsive lying be a sign of a mental illness? No. Sign of antisocial personality, not mental illness.

This question is about how things get accepted by the mainstream and end up in the DSM.

Is it possible for a person with a good upbringing to develop an anxiety disorder or to develop DID. Anyone get an anxiety disorder. DID is strongly correlated with trauma.

Cross
Could a sincere belief that people are going to believe me despite me repeatedly lying be delusional? More likely irrational but not crossing the threshold into delusional. Just because something's irrational doesn't mean it's delusional.

Judge: "I'm not going to allow that question but you can finish it." LOL

Asking about the DSM5 again, clarifying stuff about what it says about BPD.

End of this witness.

Lunch!

Edited: The jury is engaged. All impressive questions today.
Utter respect to them, we cannot see them but I have a sense they are giving it their full attention constantly.

It doesn't matter whether a person is insane or not, they don't murder people. She's not insane, just an evil witch. Hope the jury sees that and I think they will. She needs to be in a cement cage with bars.

I’m watching on YT Law & Crime, they broke for what I thought was morning break whilst I was cooking dinner, so I left the feed running and waited for them to resume.

I’ve been watching for the past 45 minutes and following along with comments here, which didn’t seem to align with the feed. I’ve just realised that the L&C YT feed must have had a glitch when they took a break, and instead of watching what I thought was live, I’ve been watching the witness testimony from first thing this morning! Ugh!

Have I missed anything major, other than BPD and NPD being diagnosed?
