So what would KB say about that when he arrived? What excuse could he give to leave their baby in the truck?
Wouldn't KB immediately go out and retrieve her?

He couldn't leave her in the truck. He couldn't let his intended victim know anything was amiss.
Yes, I'm thinking the baby may have been sleeping in the playpen when the murder occurred. I don't think he would leave her in the truck because Kelsey would have asked where she was.

In order for his plan to work, Kelsey would have needed to be relaxed and unsuspecting.

That was the only way his candle guessing plan would have worked. He knew her well enough to manipulate her into falling for it.

If one wants to ignore the red substance under the floorboards, under chairs, and splatter on the fireplace; ok.

If one wants to believe that the baby magically disappeared in the 7 minute time span between Walmart and PF’s return to Kelsey’s house; ok.

Just recognize that’s what a person has to do in order to believe a fantasy.
I hate to see you banging your head so hard against the brick wall here.
I worry about concussions.
You know what they did to Gronk.

Put another way, to quote the late, great Flannery O'Connor:

“When you can assume that your audience holds the same beliefs you do, you can relax and use more normal means of talking to it; when you have to assume that it does not, then you have to make your vision apparent by shock -- to the hard of hearing you shout, and for the almost-blind you draw large and startling figures.”

I think you can safely assume your post is not going to reach people with selective hearing problems and/or people who deliberately close their eyes when asked to look at the evidence.

A valiant effort, nonetheless, Massy.

Exactly. Logically, it makes absolutely no sense.

Not only that, but PF allegedly told KK the baby was in the playpen at the time.

She’d have no reason to lie about this.

He couldn't leave her in the truck. He couldn't let his intended victim know anything was amiss.

Or risk anyone hearing a crying baby in the truck and calling police.

This is nonsensical. I'm not sure what the point is.

Right. He leaves the baby in the truck then goes into the condo, where baby's mom was waiting for them.

Then what? He says 'Happy Thanksgiving Hon...the baby was annoying me, so I left her in the truck...can I have a cinnamon bun?'

Makes perfect sense! Right?

Colonel Mustard, in the Library with a candelabra. Roll again!

Oh my gosh!! You're too funny!! (Also, love your screen name).

Well apparently at press conferences right after preliminary hearings, prosecutors lie for some reason. I guess they feel that's the best way to gain the trust of the public.

I swear it's like the twilight zone in here right now. Echoes of the Chris Watts case for sure. o_O

I can only go by what LE said is seen on the security video. No mention of the baby being with PF when he returned to KB's door at 1:17 or later that afternoon. Logic tells me the baby remained in her car seat in the truck.

JMO
What explanation could he have provided to Kelsey as to why he left the baby in the truck?
Are you thinking the attack began as soon as he entered the home?

  • #949
And I’m assuming the baby was in a carrier, as she was in other videos. So although PF was seen on video outside of the condo, he could be carrying baby K down low in a carrier. We really have no clue what angle the video shows, but I believe baby K was in that back room. MOO

And here I was thinking it was just me! I mean, I know I’m anxious about the upcoming Saints vs. Cowboys game, but I thought maybe I was losing it or something! o_O

Just when I was about to make a case for the hitman serving double duty as a nanny watching the baby in the car! (And maybe as the baker who made the cinnamon rolls.)

He couldn't leave her in the truck. He couldn't let his intended victim know anything was amiss.

We don't know why PF was at the front door or how long he stayed there. Plus, at the preliminary hearing, testimony by detective Adams was that he could see the car seat in the security videos but couldn't tell if the baby was in it.

I wasn't talking about what I believe, I was referring to the tweets that were made in real time. It was clarified very soon after, from what I remember it was only minutes later.
It was never corrected in the blog that you posted.
That was the point I was trying to make.
There was blood found near the fireplace, on the ceiling, and in the floorboards in the living room.
The only blood mentioned in the back room was on the baby gate, which I'm assuming was at the entrance to the back room.

The blood found in the bathroom could have been evidence of a cleanup, since the sink and shower are in there.

IMO

BBM. I am not responsible for the reporter's blog about the preliminary hearing. He went back and inserted other tweets into his blog such as the one I've linked below. The tweet you are referring to was about a press conference. The blog was only about the preliminary hearing. If the prosecutor wanted to correct what Agent Slater said, it should have been done while he was on the witness stand.

Also at, the preliminary hearing, Agent Slater testified that the analysis of the suspected blood found in areas outside the bathroom had not been completed. It is hard to believe the blood was from a clean-up considering it was all over the place including door hinges.

Agent Slater said he was told by KK that the baby gate was by the stairs.

Defense pointing out fact that Frazee never blatantly said he wanted Krystal to kill Kelsey Berreth. Slater agrees. Kenney felt like Frazee was just “pulling her chain”. Kenney is the one who suggested putting ambien in the macchiato.

We don't know why PF was at the front door or how long he stayed there.

I think they do know how long he was there, by tracking his cell phone pings.
They also know what time he arrived back at the Franch.

As for why he was there, I think we all know the answer to that. It's in the thread title and it's why we are all here discussing him.

Plus, at the preliminary hearing, testimony by detective Adams was that he could see the car seat in the security videos but couldn't tell if the baby was in it.

KB was alive and well when PF arrived at her condo. The first thing she would have said is 'where is the baby?'

KB would have gone outside and brought her right in, if she had not been killed by PF already, that is. [but if he had killed her immediately, why stay there for 2 hours?]

There's no way that child was going to be out in that truck for 2 hours on Thanksgiving afternoon.
Way too many people walking about that would have seen her. Too risky to leave her out there, while he was creating a bloody crime scene.

I don't understand why you are so fixated upon changing what the investigators have said about the child's whereabouts.

Why are you so certain they are mistaken? Because your assumption, that he left her in the truck for 2 hours, makes no logical sense and does not fit with what the investigation revealed. o_O

There was nothing for the prosecutor to correct. o_O

Slater said on the stand that Kelsey was killed in the living room while Baby K was in the back room.

Unfortunately, Sam didn't hear it correctly but he later corrected his tweet after the prosecutor confirmed at the press conference what Slater's testimony was. Have you listened to the press conference that was linked for you?

1. The affidavit says Kelsey was murdered in the living room while Baby K was in the back room.

2. Slater testified on the stand that Kelsey was murdered in the living room while Baby K was in the back room. (Sam heard wrong but corrected his tweet)

3. Prosecutor confirms/clarifies that Slater testified that Kelsey was murdered in the living room while Baby K was in the back room.

We went over all of this seven months ago. I'm pretty sure that the majority of posters here who have followed the case closely, understand and believe that Kelsey was killed in the living room as the evidence and testimony indicates. ??? MOO
