I don't know! Can it really do that? It's amazing to me, if it does. Does anyone else have any ideas?

As long as we're still on the Nash ranch, does anyone have a guess why LE never searched anywhere but KK's haystack? It would seem to me that since the dog got a hit there, for sure on the floor of the barn at the base of the stacks, that would logically be the last confirmed place that there is evidence (not testimony) of a body. Why wasn't it prudent to give the old ranch a look-see, just in case that lump in the tote wasn't what KK said she didn't see. JMO

What are you talking about? LE searched the franchette and KB's townhome. There's all kinds of videos, photos, and articles about it in the media thread.

We haven't seen all the search warrants to know if they searched elsewhere. MOO

Here is search and rescue heading up to Patrick Frazee’s home, the fiancé of missing mother Kelsey Berreth. Teller County Sheriff’s Office says they will be searching the 34 acre area with dogs to try and pick up Kelsey’s sent, if there is one there. @KKTV11News

Police hunting for missing mom Kelsey Berreth insist her fiance poses no risk to their daughter despite cops searching his property with diggers and K9 search dogs.

Authorities complete search of Kelsey Berreth's fiance's Teller County ranch
Authorities have finished searching the Teller County home and ranch of a missing Woodland Park woman’s fiance but did not reveal if clues to her disappearance were found.

No arrests were announced in the news release Sunday sent by the Woodland Park Police Department announcing the end of the search, which began Friday morning.

About 75 law enforcement officials, using backhoes and dogs, scoured the 35-acre ranch near Florissant owned by Patrick Frazee.

I'd sure like to know. Lotsa questions hopefully will be answered at trial. I'm still baffled why a place covered in blood for two days didn't trigger an alert by a cadaver dog in the areas KK claimed were covered in blood and instead the dog alerted to a pair of KB's panties.

JMO
I believe cadaver dogs alert to decomposition. Otherwise they would not be able to detect someone who was strangled to death.

I believe that PF will be found guilty of the murder of KB once the trial begins, and all the evidence is revealed. I'm sure we haven't seen all of it yet. I am also convinced that a jury with even minimal intelligence will be able to follow along and understand the timeline, cell phone histories and forensic evidence in this case and realize that the ONLY person who could have committed this murder is Patrick Frazee. And yes, they will understand that Kelsey Berreth is dead, and it was at the hands of PF. This is my opinion, because I cannot believe that anyone with an ounce if common sense would be unable to see, follow, understand and believe the facts of this case. KB is not coming back to her baby, and PF is the reason why!

I know this one well! :)

The two-hour window of opportunity is the time after exercise that you need to refuel your body with carbohydrates and protein (whole foods are best) for recovery and building muscle. I believe the term was coined by the author of "The Warrior Diet."

Source: Personal experience, but there are plenty of fitness sites out there where more information is available.

Not sure what it has to do with this case but perhaps I missed something. MOO

Can anyone prove KK didn't see inside the tote? It's her version of events which will be on trial. It will be up to the prosecution to prove she's told the truth. I wish him luck with that considering KK lied to LE from the beginning of this case.

JMO
Why would she have to have seen inside the tote? The gun wasn't in the tote, it was in a plastic bag up on the hay bale along with the tote.

2:41 p.m.

Kenney, on Dec. 20, said Frazee had to climb this large stack & go to the back to grab the tote and a plastic bag containing Kelsey’s gun. The tractor was used to bring the tote down from the top of the stack, Slater says.

Thank you for finding that. You have saved me the trouble, lol. ;) MOO

If I understand the linked article correctly, the best current science believes that death releases several separate compounds. A cadaver dog is trained to pick up on the combination that is indicative of death.
My observation is that it is accepted that an accredited cadaver dog might err in indicating death on personal articles that carry lingering human scent, and at least possible, in theory, for a dog to miss the scent of death entirely, but there are no cases (that I could find) in which dogs committed both errors while working the same case.

You are quite welcome.
Sometimes peoples comprehension skills are quite lacking.

A good example of why it's good to check facts.

Big difference between a cell phone and a gun.
Not really because both items ended up in KK's possession outside of the tote.

JMO
You've got to be joking, right? There are some HUGE differences between a gun and a phone...
  • A gun cannot make phone calls, send texts, access the internet...
  • You cannot shoot someone with a phone.

Thank you for the excellent list of every place that LE searched, with links. It comes to my mind that LE also searched the landfill, but I don't see that Nash ranch was searched (other than the haystack). JMO

Absolutely true! Facts plus common sense will bring justice for KB and her little girl. May that day be soon!!

Yes, they can detect it within the first few hours and on. It would also depend on how quickly PF got KB in the tote as it does take a short measure of time, perhaps 30 minutes or so, for the process to begin. JMO.

.........but how does anyone (other than KK) explain that the dog hit on the green Toyota that was near where KKL said the tote was set on the ground, but not the truck that transported the body to Nash ranch, and then the dog hit again at Nash ranch, but the same truck was used to transport the tote to the franchette? Again, just asking.

2:10 pm - “Kenney says Frazee put Kelsey in a black tote and set that on the ground near the green Toyota before putting it in his truck & transporting her remains to a ranch in Fremont county. Didn’t catch the name. Sounded like Nash ranch or Dash ranch. Again, bad acoustics.”

I can’t answer that. A possibility would be that PF took his truck through the car wash and perhaps even cleaned the truck bed with bleach before doing that. I realize bleach does not erase blood evidence but perhaps it can mask the scent of decomposition. IDK.

Am anxious to see if they sprayed Luminol all over the inside of Kelsey's apartment and what the resulting pictures show, might be shocking.

  • #118
Yes, they did spray Luminol in the main area of the first floor of the condo, and the pictures might truly be shocking. I wonder why they didn't show any at the hearing? IMO

Same article
3:33 p.m.

Slater says he wasn’t involved in the search & processing of Frazee’s truck. Defense asks if he’s aware no blood or other signs of human decomposition were found inside the truck. Slater said no — but that he believed the cadaver dog wasn’t run by the truck
