According to Colorado Springs Police, Mr. Vigil's death was ruled a suicide, and Mrs. Vigil's death has been ruled a homicide.

Police said that through the course of their investigation, detectives obtained evidence that supported an agreement between Mr. and Mrs. Vigil to end their lives together.
