The Longmont PD exhumed a body related to a Longmont crime. The body exhumed was buried within a few days of Rita going missing. I am betting there is evidence someone placed in with the exhumed body...or a suspicion there is evidence in with that body. I could be off base, but it sounds potentially reasonable.
They made it sound possible that there was an “unauthorized burial” which makes me think that maybe her remains were found under this mans? As in perp found an already dug grave, put her body in there and covered her with dirt and then the “authorized” casket put on top soon after. Imo

Iirc her brother Omar was searching in Weld County.
Also, Weld County is the LE assigned to Nicole Silver’s case, iirc.
My heart is racing. There’s a DARN good chance this is Rita or Nicole, moo.

For more than a year, police have continued to search for Rita Gutierrez-Garcia, a missing Longmont woman and mother of three.
While several leads have developed, Longmont police Cmdr. Joel Post said the investigation has not “progressed far enough” to formally charge anyone in Gutierrez-Garcia’s disappearance and presumed death.

I just thought of an idea, small chance but...
I’m recalling a case I saw a long time ago on Forensic Files. It was a “Forensic Botanist” who ended up solving the case and finding the victim who had been discarded in the Colorado mountains. Iirc she was part of a recovery organization....
In that case, iirc LE had collected evidence from the perp which was certain leaves/plants/ foliage ...I can’t recall if it was from his vehicle or shoes, etc but the point is this:
The specific type of plant that they found (iirc related to a kind of Aspen) requires a lot of direct sunlight, or soooomething like that. So the Forensic Botanist was able to determine which side of Canyon got the direct sunlight needed for this type of tree to grow; then they were able to narrow it down to a certain area where the sun actually shined on that mountain and ended up finding the victim’s remains. A skull iirc.
I wonder if any botanical material, etc was found on JF’s shoes, vehicle, etc and if this couldpissibly help shed some light on where he disposed of her up around the mountains. Is there any similar evidence like this I wonder and if so has a forensic botanist examined it. I wish I could remember the group...maybe it was Necrosearch?

Just got this in my google alert for this case. Now for the past few days I've been getting alerts for cases that have been going on already - and it turns out the article is very old but it have a current date on the top of the article - so don't know IF this one is an oldie - or is this going on now?
I have in my notes that he was sentenced to 93 years to life. Here's what my notes say:

Investigators say they believe Figueroa was the last person to see Rita, but do not think the two had a close personal relationship.
On March 22, 2019, Figueroa was convicted of sexual assault, felony assault and attempted murder in an unrelated 2017 sexual assault case. In May, he was sentenced to 93 years in prison. As the third year since Rita Gutierrez-Garcia disappearance is marked Thursday, her family, police and community want people to remember that her case is still active. Efforts to find out what happened to the 34-year-old mother of three, who is presumed dead, continue.
“Sometimes we will go someplace and search,” said Diane Romero, Gutierrez-Garcia’s mom. “If you know anything, hear anything, see anything — people who are hiking, fishing, hunting, people with ranches or farms — if they could just be on the lookout. If they see something, don’t hesitate to call police.”

Figueroa, 32, was indicted by a grand jury on counts of first-degree murder after deliberation, felony murder and second-degree kidnapping in the disappearance and presumed death of Rita Guterriez-Garcia.
Felony murder can be charged when a person dies during the commission of a felony, in this case the kidnapping charge.
