I'm hoping that he put those babies in contractor grade garbage bags and sealed them up air tight with duct tape before he disposed of them in the oil tanks.
This would still be the scene where the body's were found.
They want those prints but the didn't have to disclose that the bag was holding one of the children.

NUA reportedly talked to CW when no answer at the door, she listened to the "play date story," and walked the neighborhood looking for SW and the girls as they were not answering and appeared to be on foot (i.e., her auto in garage). When NUA relayed to CW they were nowhere to be found in the hood, and CW still blew her off, she announced she was calling police and did just that. MOO

Since she was wandering around the neighborhood on foot, I still want to know if he was looking at his app through the doorbell and could see their car was still there, that her son had looked into the garage door, and that is why he was so close to home when the police arrived. In other words, he saw what was going on and he didn't head home when the police came, he was already on his way!

Also the state will already have the victims' prints from the autopsy. I imagine they were ruled out already.
Great point.

ok you'd think he might have worked up a sweat murdering his family, or got some bodily fluids on himself, so he probably showered. At that time he could have stepped on one of the garbage bags containing a family member. Dont you guys think, that IF he murdered them upstairs he probably also bagged them up there to avoid dragging or carrying them over the rugs, while dead?
It’s possible, but I still think it was simply an effort to conceal them during transportation. You don’t want to run the risk of someone seeing lifeless bodies in your car.

I think CW did not take the time to shower at the home before going to the oil field. I am thinking he may have showered at work after dumping the bodies?
Do we know if there are shower facilities for employees at his work?
I think there may be because of the nature of the job and staff showering at work before leaving for home at the end of their shift. Just wondering.

I too think that she was killed on the first floor, those dogs barking seemed really close to where he was on the porch. Really close.
I think the second floor, just at the top of the stairs! For 2 reasons. 1) her cell phone between couch cushions in loft between bedrooms, according to the affidavit. 2) looking at the house from the front, just above where C.W. gave interview on front porch, the windows on second floor are different (no curtains, and some kind of square design in upper corner) I think indicating the loft/walkway from coming just up the stairs .... after seeing the pictures of the inside of the house (and floor plan) including the stairway, kids BR,s to left over garage area....right to walk down loft/hallway area to MB. I think he was waiting at to of stairs. First floor or second floor, it was directly in the area he stood on the porch (if that makes sense?? I think we agree on the area, just weather that area was on first or second floor)

In the infamous porch interview, CW makes this comment, …" so like she barely let me she barely got barely gotten into bed…"

I am curious what he meant by she barely let me ?
IMO, "she barely got barely gotten into bed" is indicative of when he strangled her.
I think he stuffed up his memorised speech, so much for his great photographic memory! :p

IIRC, in one interview it's she barely got into bed .... he added a time but I can't remember right now what it was, but it didn't make sense to what he said earlier re: times.
Another poster talked about it a few threads ago.

Bags? Footprints? My poor brain doesn’t know how to process this! If C.W. brought bags to the Oil field is it possible that he left them out in the field like he did the fitted sheet that matched the top sheet and pillowcases he left back home? Is he that stupid? Could he have dumped one of his children into the oil tank tied up in this bag? If his bare footprint is on this bag does that mean he stepped on his deceased daughter? If he did step on this bag would his footprint remain there after this bag was submerged in oil for 4 days? And how will this footprint help solve the case? What harm could he have done with his feet? Kicked them to death? Do they think this print might belong to an accomplice? Why would an accomplice step on a bag? Help!

I’m hoping he didn’t kill them while they were in the bags! It’s bad enough that he (most likely) killed them at all in my opinion. :(

Totally agree but still dumbfounded that people think they can get away with this stuff.
It never ceases to amaze me what people believe they can get away with. Their twisted sense of entitlement is astonishing too.

that might be alluded to when he says he went down stairs..you know how he sprinkles tidbits into his spiels

Might want to put a link to the new thread at the end of the old one. ☺

Where is everyone this morning?

ETA: I feel like I looked at my class schedule wrong and went & sat down in the wrong (empty!) classroom!

I think a lot of people don't know how to find new threads unless the old one has a link to the new one. They'll be here as soon as the link goes up on the old one?

I JUST found the new thread. When I didn't see the link on the last one, I thought were being forced to take a break today.

Now I have 33 pages to catch up on.

Anyone want to recap for me, pretty please? Did we discuss anything new?

she barely let me talk?
she barely understood me?
adding to my post:

she barely let me explain?
she barely made it into bed?

Kensie said:
She barely let him talk, she barely let him near him, she barely spoke to him.

Bluff:
Does anyone have the link to the interview were CW makes those inclinations in his speech? I would like to view it too. TIA
The discussion was earlier today, i think it was BeanieBod who noticed the words.

This is my current theory**, and I'm doing research to see how common this is. MOO.

* I will caution our VI's that they might want to scroll through this post.

[**Every time that I start typing my theory, I talk myself out of it because every theory seems to conflict with this or that evidence that we know, but here goes...]

One of them killed the children--I find it unimaginable that either would do it. However, based upon the way things turned out, I am going to assume that CW did it. And here's why....

I'm going to assume that if someone asked for a separation, it was SW rather than CW. (I won't go into all of the details at this point, but I suspect that SW wanted out. That's why she spent 5 or 6 weeks in NC with family---to confirm that this is what she wanted. Maybe it had to do with discovering he had an affair, or whatever.)

I going to assume that CW loved SW, and he loved the children even more. The six week separation from SW and the children was extremely painful for him. (Remember what he said in the interview about the quiet house? That's what he lived for five weeks.)

I think that SW told him when he went to NC that she wanted a separation (that's why he seemed distant and uninvolved.) She told him she was moving to NC and taking the girls.

I think the pain of of the thought of losing SW and the girls seemed to CW to be unendurable. He had one last weekend alone with the children while she was in AZ, and he stewed over it.

I think when she got back, he begged her not to go, and she told him she was sure she wanted a divorce and she was going to start packing for the move. I think they got into an argument or fight, and I don't have to explain what happened next. Alternatively, if he knew she was coming back only to leave again, the pain may have caused him to harm the daughters before she arrived.

It wasn't really premeditated, other than it was something that had occurred to him and he couldn't get out of his mind. The fear and pain of separation haunted him and drove him to do the unspeakable.

Afterward, he "stored" and "preserved" the children at a place that was near to his heart--at an oilfield site in a beautiful field of wildflowers.

So that's it---pain of separation of something he deeply loved.

ETA: He blamed the daughter's deaths on SW because he could not admit, even to himself, the unspeakable act that he had committed.

(No, this wasn't an appropriate response by him. He should have sought professional help.)
I'm thinking too that she said she was leaving and he flipped out.

I think he took them out of the bags before he dumped them in the tanks in the hope the oil would remove his DNA from their bodies . Maybe at the top of the oil tanks it's a bit windy and the bag blew away before he had a chance to grab it . Then there was no time to go after it . A possibility I guess.?????
Your post made me think CW wore gloves, work kind, not necessarily surgical ones.

Maybe the bags were a way to transport the deceased bodies the easy way. If bagged, he does not have to look at the dead bodies. Kind of removes the emotional aspect. Just toss the bag aside in a shallow grave or down an oil tank.

The biggest news today:
Christopher Watts case: Weld DA requests footprints to compare to evidence found near bodies

In a court order responding to this motion, 19th Judicial District Judge Marcelo Kopcow wrote that this motion is similar to a motion filed by the district attorney's office on Sept. 12 requesting cheek swabs, finger and palm prints, and photos of both of Watts' hands.

The defense objected to the Sept. 12 motion, saying that forcing Watts to provide what the court described as "non-testimonial evidence" violates his constitutional rights against unreasonable search and seizure and self-incrimination.

Because of the similar nature of the two motions, Kopcow ordered the defense to have a response to the new motion filed earlier than usual, by Sept. 20. The district attorney's office will then have until Sept. 24 to file a reply.

During the course of this investigation, items of evidence have been collected and have been sent to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation for testing. Upon receiving these items an Agent with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation developed possible bare foot impressions, using their normal latent print process for non-porous items. These impressions were developed from a bag (Frederick Police Department Item #26) which was collected at the scene where the victim’s bodies were located.
