It would be a good explanation for that. My sticking point with this theory though is the idea that he would have had to leave decomposing bodies in his car in the summer heat at work all morning. I don't think it is a good idea to bring dead bodies to work...more driving time to get caught, caught at work, etc. But who knows?
I agree.

CW didn't want the bodies sitting anywhere for long, not at home or in his vehicle, he knew about cadaver dogs, imo, and probably the August heat was on his mind too.

About CW not leaving work till 1pm after he spoke to a panicked NUA at 12 noon.

I wonder if he considered going on the run, drove off in another direction, had second thoughts and sped back home to face the music. If the vehicle is fitted with GPS and CCTV may have picked up where he was headed.

Or, was CW having a long conversation with AP in person or on the phone shortly after 12 until 1pm. Not confessing anything but warning her there's more to come and she'll hear about it soon via the news? To please stick by him no matter what she hears? JMO

IMO
CW did NOT appear "calm", "cool" or "collected" during his interviews as some people have stated. I saw anxiety. Hugging himself through most of the interviews (to distance others from seeing what was inside him or to comfort himself). Rocking back and forth. He didn't know what to do with himself. "My heart is racing." Nervous laughter. Fear. Like a deer in the headlights.
JMO
I agree. JMO

I feel bad now. No one could ever use a luggage bag at the bottom of the stairs as a good gauge of when I was murdered. That bag could be there for a week or two. Sometimes I just unpack it where it is.
But as compulsively clean as she was...I do agree I would have guessed she took it upstairs. And since such a short trip, I would not have thought too heavy.
I query whether it was a carry on size bag luggage or a full size luggage bag. It was only a 2 day business trip so maybe a carry on luggage bag. Would SW need to bring Thrive products to and fro from the business trip in said luggage?? which would mean SW would need a large suitcase possibly versus a carry on.

Yeah. Maybe they didn’t do the palm, and they definitely didn’t do the feet. They didn’t give him a cheek swab either, hence the requests from the DA.

That's weird to me and it's what made me check on the thread. Colorado collects arrestee DNA samples for their state version of CODIS so his sample should have been taken when he was arrested and finger printed. It is required by law in the state for any adult arrested for a felony.

Who knows, maybe SW put her suitcase in the garage when she got home and CW took it out of the garage and put at the bottom of the stairs with him intending to deal with it later. Why I suggest SW putting the suitcase in the garage is because SW was OCD according to NUA about a clean home and so am I and when I return from travels I always put my suitcase in the garage for fear of bedbugs from hotels, airplanes etc transferring into my home. Then I wash the clothes and check the luggage when I unpack later. Could be ridiculous habit to some but maybe it was something SW did as well. As for toiletries, I think most women have duplicates and options available in the bathroom to use instead of having to unpack the moment one returns home. jmo

That’s right. Bed bugs. They say to keep your suitcase away from everything for a few days.

The State is not letting go of the possibility the girls were killed before she arrived home which is reflected in the DOD ranging across the 12th and 13th.
The State is only following the evidence: I believe it's more so that SW was last seen alive on 8/13 by both NUA and neighbor surveillance camera, and dead by 5:27AM; whereas the girls were last seen alive at birthday party on 8/12 but State can't prove they were not dead before midnight.

Is it possible the camera across the street captured lights in different rooms going on and off upstairs and downstairs during the middle of the night? That could tell a story.

Agreed, I only mentioned it because it is a possibility and SW was fastidious about her home.

Wow, I didn't know that. I know that some states have laws that allow them to do that, but I just assumed that Colorado was one of the (most) states that don't.

That makes the prosecution motion for DNA collection very odd, as it should have been done.
Edit* It's called Katie's law.

Since she was a frequent traveler for her job, she might have had two of everything and travel size items she always left in her suitcase. I wonder if she had restrictions on how much weight she could lift due to the pregnancy? She might have been able to roll it ok, but needed Chris to carry it up and just left it until morning. JMO.
Most frequent travelers keep at least a couple of sets of things. I don't find it odd that a pregnant woman who wasn't feeling well didn't move the suitcase upstairs at 2 a.m. NU said she wasn't feeling well which was part of her great concern when she wasn't answering or responding.

If the children were murdered on the 12th and SW on the 13th (what I’ve believed) the cadaver dogs would have a stronger scent on the girls to react to, wouldn’t they? It’s horrendous to even contemplate.

Ha. Well, after I've returned from a trip my suitcase stays unpacked so long it becomes a new piece of furniture :)

But yes, it's more that I feel like her personality would make her inclined to have it brought upstairs (either by her or CW) before she actually went to bed. So I don't think she was murdered in her sleep for example.

ETA: apologies all if I've gotten us all on a tangent about suitcase theories, when we actually have more interesting factual info with the footprint and bag and such! We can carry on with that.

Man I try and take a break and there's finally new stuff to discuss! I thought they also took full finger and palm prints. Odd.

Since you're also a verified attorney can you clarify when they talk about the bare footprint impression. Is that a print or an impression (like an actual impression they would have casted)?

I totally agree with the logic of why that was not a good idea. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, though.

Yes, I am pretty sure the floorplan I saw posted has the laundry room or closet upstairs. Ours is upstairs too. (I think ours and the Watts’ home are by the same builder, though their home is bigger than ours.) It is very nice to have.

Her suitcase would not have been all that heavy for just a weekend trip, would it have been? I know she was pregnant and probably exhausted.

Sometimes those MLM conventions require several changes of clothes: swimwear, daytime meeting wear, evening "socializing attire", etc. So it's possible she had several changes of clothing, as well as shoes.

When you're tired and it's late, though, even light bags can be heavy.

Perhaps SW went to the kitchen and left her purse, medication etc on the counter so that she could retrieve some Tylenol tablets from a kitchen cabinet. I know we have a cabinet in the kitchen that contains pain medications so we don't have to go to the upstairs bathroom when we need a Tylenol.

Can I take pain medication while pregnant.
But if you need additional relief, it's important to choose your pain medication wisely.Acetaminophen (the main ingredient in Tylenol) is safe for moms-to-be when used as directed. However, you should avoid aspirin and ibuprofen (found in Advil, Motrin, and Nuprin).

I agree they are following the evidence. They likely have a good idea now of when the girls died.

I see nothing significant about the bag. It was incredibly late, the bag weighed enough that she didn't want to lug it up steps. No big deal, imo.

If they are asking for his footprint they likely have prints (like finger prints) from someone's feet or toes. "Prints" means the personally identifiable skin ridges on your hands and feet. They can pick up latent prints by spraying an object with a kind of super glue spray and setting it so you have something like a finger print cast you can then compare to a sample from a person.

ETA: If they were boot prints or shoe prints they would specify that and just execute a search warrant against the house and take all his shoes.
