The marriage was not in any trouble in any real sense. The marriage did not fall apart because of a 6 week trip.

Unbeknownst to SW the entire marriage was a sham, a facade kept up by a man incapable of any true love or empathy for anyone but himself.

CW is 100% at fault for 100% of this situation.

Honestly, I think the marriage was a sweet story that had little to do with truth on both sides.

Shanann was retouching their lifestyle, the photos, the videos, to push Thrive, and the photos of this beautiful couple surely did not hint at the horrible final. But they were not true, because there must have been a deep rift between the two.

Chris went with the flow, silently accumulating hatred and rage.

It ended how it did.

BTW, this all-encompassing love to NK might have been the initial stage of idealization typical for people with cluster B personality disorders. And if the affair was as short as they say it was, 2 months only, it only fits the diagnosis of Chris.

SBM & BBM Chris was 37 years old, served in the Army, was married for 8 years ! He took care of the girls when SW would travel on business trips. According to his supervisor , Chris was his go to guy. IMO, Chris was only responsible for the people or things he wanted to be responsible for when he felt like being responsible or needed others to think he was a nice guy. IMO , SW pampered the husband she loved by taking care of everything because that is exactly the way Chris wanted things to be
He was 33 and never served in the military.

I did not realize he took more than one polygraph. The only one I read about were the three questions regarding Shanann. If he physically caused her disappearance, if he was lying about the last time he saw her, and if he knew where she was now. When did they do a polygraph about the affair and what were the questions? I didn't see that anywhere.
He only took one polygraph with three questions. He failed.

I am surprised at all the comments about Shanann going to NC for 6 weeks was way too long. There are thousands upon thousands of married military spouses that are separated for months at a time with neither spouse carrying on an affair or murdering their entire family. Shanann's visit to NC for 6 weeks is NOT the reason CW murder his family. He did not just suddenly meet NK the minute Shannan's plane took off from Colorado. IMO CW and NK had been hot for each other months before Shanann went to NC
Absolutely! SW absence simply provided the opportunity to act on it. I don't imagine their spending 4-5 times per week with each other could happen with his family in town.

It's inaccurate that "everyone here is saying it didn't happen." What posters are saying is that the Police Officer referenced acknowledged that "he gained information from reading reports and speaking to fellow officers, from reading the statements of the victim and witnesses and through personal investigation." Your quote is from his supplement summary dated 11 October 2018, whereas there is also a good, factual timeline posters are going by. At best, NK coming forward was simultaneous to Anadarko delivering CW digital footprint to LE including his emails exchanged with NK over their network. MOO
You cannot ignore this sentence, “The affair was only discovered after Kessinger contacted your affiant stating she had information regarding this investigation.”

I don't know of any other way than scrolling. Hopefully someone else might know because I don't use an iPad.
I also use an iPad and I have depended upon everyone sharing info from Discovery because it’s so difficult to read on my iPad. Thanks to everyone.

There is one polygraph test. But the test is "normed", and there are never just three questions, because people's level of anxiety is different, and their response when they are not lying might be accompanied by very different physical parametres. So a lot of "neutral" questions are asked to generate "the norm", intersperced with the questions that are more "tricky" and anxiety-provoking. In short, you need to know how a person answers when he tells the truth vs when he lies, and only then do they proceed with the crucial questions.

I didn't think that he did take a polygraph about the affair. When the investigator told him that the PG indicated deception, CW explained it away by saying that he did not want them to know about the affair and that was the deception, but the investigator said that he was not asked about the affair. Maybe I have that wrong.

Chris was in the Army? He's 33, not 37. Not that any of that matters in what kind of person he is or what he did to his family.

lol. He "became" armoured during sw's trip? And not before? So it was her fault he strayed, and then assassinated the family?
Oh please. Let's stop this already. It's stupid. I never said it was her fault he strayed OK? It did not help their marriage being gone 6 weeks. No dear there is no reason to kill ever. Geez.

Ok so Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is on and yes I still watch it.
I need something happy and a break from CW.

Well, I check in with NORAD Tracks Santa every Christmas Eve!

I can see myself doing the same thing. Maybe I’m just as horrible a person. I googled it after reading NK did. Amber Frey isn’t worth much. NK has to feel like her life is over.

But her life isn't over. She has a chance for a future.

My thoughts are, perhaps he lied initially but she learned the truth. She was over at Shanann's home when Shanann and the girls were in NC. She knew they were all living there.

If she had done what some women would have done, she would kicked him to the curb for lying to her immediately and contacted Shanann and given her a heads-up on what CW was doing. That would have been the fair thing to do.

Shanann only suspected. She didn't know. Big difference, JMO. She didn't have the knowledge she needed to make a decision that may have saved her life and the lives of her babies. She was in a state of confusion. The truth (having the affair exposed) would certainly have hurt, but I have a feeling that knowledge may have snapped Shanann into protective mode rather quickly.

Instead of giving Shanann a heads-up, my understanding is NK sent naked selfies of herself to CW when he was in NC. She was fueling the affair, trying to win the game.

I have zero sympathy for this woman. JMO, she is lucky she got out alive.

Maybe "manipulated" is not the right word. Chris was used to someone making the decisions for him, and doing things for him. His parents, and then, Shanann, who ran the family budget, and it seems, made the most decisions about the house, the kids, etc.

Actually, his affair and the need to do something about it was probably the first time the responsibility fell on Chris. And the only time Chris was trusted with own decision, he chose to annihilate his family.

Maybe there is a reason why no one, ever, delegated him with making own decision, why he was a pampered child? Why Shanann told him what to do and bossed him around, per coworkers? See what he did when left to own resources!

I hope they perform neurocognitive tests for CW.

(It seems they liked to Google in life-changing moments. Perhaps if CW merely Googled, "I don't love my wife. I am saddled with debts. I have an affair with another woman whom I think I love dearly and my wife does not know, but is starting to guess. I want to marry the other woman, but I have two kids, and the third one on the way. On top of it, my paramour is my coworker. What should I do?", and went with Google's advise?)

HaHa, I wish we had response options here, like "That's a hoot" or "I so agree with this" or are you JPN? ... Just Plain Nuts ( found in some patient's charts)
Just Plain Nuts.

Guys! Can we talk more about Candace, CW's biggest fan? I'm pretty sure anyone who writes like that needs to go to a loony bin. Page 1361

If the names were removed, I would be hard pressed to tell his penpals apart.

Even if they are much older, the written letters look the same. The big rounded letters and the hearts.

With the internet, this kind of info is out there.

I imagine NK’s nude photos will be out there as well.

I have no sympathy for her as she wanted him and knew his marital situation.

But no one needs to see her photos. They serve no purpose except to titillate.

Same with the penpals. Why expose them to ridicule. I imagine their lives are filled with some kind of horror . It makes me very sad for them

Sorry , my mistake on the age. I thought I read in the discovery that he had been in the Army . I will edit my post and double check .

I think my greatest fear is if people succeed in destroying NK, LE is going to have a hard time getting witnesses to come forward in the future. NK is not responsible for these murders. She had a very sexy, romantic, exciting, sordid affair with a lying 🤬🤬🤬 married man. She loved every minute of it. He murdered his family, and all of a sudden the most embarrassing and personal details of her private life have been released to the public for all to judge, blame, mock, and condemn. I can understand why she would want to protect herself and try to keep a lid on it. Did it really help the investigation for the world to learn NK googled anal sex? I can see NK going into a huge depression and possibly killing herself.

I agree that dumping all her Google searches was an overkill. Because got knows what people Google. She is not the defendant, she is not on trial. There is a certain violation of privacy. I don't care what 🤬🤬🤬🤬 movies she liked, what sex she Googled, it is her personal life, and I feel like an unwilling voyeur after all of it is out.

Her deleted texts are a totally different issue. I think the investigators should try to restore them.

I don't know if anyone has commented about this but I thought it was strange that several years earlier when Chris did that presentation about relationships he talked about how having a child can sometimes fix a relationship. Then added he did not agree with that.
He told Shanann that he originally thought having another baby might fix things. Then seemed to change his mind about it.
I don't think he had ever had an original thought or idea in his head his entire life. Every single statement he made to LE and everyone else he knew was recited from something he learned by reading it or hearing other people say it. He really is a robot.
I noticed that during his first interview with the investigator he was asked several times to go over the "emotional conversation" he had with Shanann that night, and he just kept repeating everything they had texted about their relationship in the week before the murder. I always suspected they had not really had a conversation, now I know for sure they didn't. He never would have been able to make it up. He just didn't have an imagination. It amazes me that he fooled so many people all his life. Imo
