And there is still the other girl that has claimed an affair. She said he was sexually aggressive and had a rape fantasy. I know a lot of people here believe he only cheated with NK...but we shall see.

Obsessively so, possibly she initiated the affair...why is she so worried about involving Jim? so weird! Her best friend but has no clue what's going on when it's on National News?

If she was using Jim's fb account to snoop on SW and CW, she probably wouldn't want LE searching his computer/phone. Does this man live with her part time? I understand her wanting to protect her friend/boyfriend/relative from being involved but there could be more to it, if she was snooping, that's what fb is for, lol, nothing to be ashamed or defensive about.
I'm sure once this dies down she can resume a normal life. She's no Karla Homolka, she hasn't killed anyone, so I don't believe for a second she will be tracked throughout her life.

Communication is key here: Why didn't NK ever contact SW and ask her if they were separated? Why did she just take CW's word? It was obvious they weren't separated, he was lying to her and to SW. They still lived together so therefore not legally or physically separated. She walked right into this mess.
I was asked out by a musician friend once I knew he had a small child, so I asked him, "why are you asking me out? I know you are married with a two-year-old." He said, "we agreed to have an open marriage."
I responded, "ok, I'm not interested."
He pestered me again later this time with news they were separated and getting a divorce.
I said, "well, I'm still not interested."
Then I asked his wife. She had no idea he was lying to her and other women.
There was no way I'd even contemplate dating a married/separated man. Just no. It's not that difficult. It's far too stressful and I hate drama and especially deceptiveness. No good comes from it ever.

I also think the information they got from her was more helpful to the investigation than harmful . If they really thought she was intentionally holding back or destroying evidence because she knew that he murdered them or was in any way involved I would think they would have charged her with something. Imo

See, to me, /if/ she believed he was living in the basement (and I'm not sure how much he was?) and separated by all but papers and location that's not at all the same as trying to seduce him out of a happy marriage. (But even then, it takes two and I don't really believe in "homewreckers" as a thing.) I don't see why it would be a stretch to imagine he lied or downplayed things to NK when he's the main person in this case we know for absolute certain lied a lot about some big things.

I don't see this warm all over each other relationship between Chris and Shanann that suddenly stopped. The videos of their interactions seem so uncomfortable to me. But that's after the fact interpretation so I really don't know.

Overall I don't really understand the point of State of Colorado publishing all of NK's evidence online when she is a cooperating witness.

Seems to only send the message not to cooperate.

So why are they doing it?

The only thing I can think of is that NK & Watts conspired in deleting the texts and trying to hide her existence.

It has to be a real beef - not some untruths at the edges of her evidence.

I am going to guess that it's because all of it is/was potential evidence in a triple homicide investigation. MOO

My continued interest in the case is learning about what CW and NK are hiding.

I think NK's stated reasons for deleting data from her phone (concern about disgust over being connected to CW and not wanting intimate/private texts and photos shared) are deflection (MOO). She admitted to deleting this data after she knew that law enforcement was involved in the report of CW's missing family members, and she asked CW to delete data on his end involving her (fact: Discovery #1 p570 & 568). She also followed up with CW to make sure his Facebook profile was deleted, rather than inactivated (Discovery #1 p649), and she reportedly asked her friends to delete at least her pictures if not other data from their digital footprints (Discovery #1 p717). She even continued to delete her own google searches researching the crime after CW had begun giving interviews to law enforcement (Discovery #1 p2129)

If she had been quick, forthcoming, and cooperative to law enforcement and revealed all of her data and communications, it is possible their investigation would have been helped and she may have been more protected in terms of her privacy. However, since she didn't, law enforcement had to proceed as if any information they could glean from her data was a potential clue as to the whereabouts of the missing family and/or ultimately the motive for their deaths.

I still think CW must be hiding something pretty big and important to him in order to accept a life sentence instead of continuing to lie his way toward his hoped-for redemption. He brazenly lied repeatedly in the early missing persons reports to the news. He lied to law enforcement and the FBI. When he finally plead guilty, that was it, an admission of guilt to undetailed charges, no confession.

He gets no pass, and his actions have been documented and discussed in depth on this forum. NK also is not getting a pass, because we want to live in a world where innocent people cannot be killed and then have their investigations hampered because potential digital evidence is deleted that makes people feel "grossed out," as per NK Discovery #1 p570

If that were the case, she really thought they were separated and on the way to a divorce I would agree with you. I just find it exceptionally difficult to believe she did not know he was married with children since she had previously searched for Shan'ann on the internet and she choose to go forward with the affair. Agree about being a home wrecker - saying no is always an option for both parties.

it's speculation as to whether she committed any offence

it's important to remember NK apparently did not actually have any evidence pertaining to the murders

in my view, whether she committed any crime would rather depend on what she deleted and when

Remember that she was legally entitled to "hamper" the investigation by not cooperating at all.

I think if she had deleted her messages after she had contacted LE and had been interviewed she may have been charged with interfering or hindering the investigation or whatever it's called. Maybe that's why she didn't get charged. What day did she say she deleted everything? Was it on Monday or Tuesday?

They look comfortable and quite happy. That's why it's so bizarre Chris killed her!

Ironically enough, NK with the loudmouth, selfish ways, was not going to uhm, work out for long with CW...Drew Peterson rings a bell..

I had those same thoughts. He, as with many NPD's (and again, I am not a pro by any means, but do believe he is diagnose-able as NPD, and more) tend to lean toward the same personality type as the parent that helped them develop their "narc-i-ness". I noted a tiny bit of that in SW, but she tempered it with love, understanding and empathy...NK doesn't, at least from her interview, appear to have that same tempering.

CW found his mother in NK, JMO.

No, you didn't imagine it. I am including all of her searches in my response since it was suggested by someone that only talking about one of her searches is unfair. The following begins on Pg 1887 (Discovery pg 2082).

9/1/2017 - searched the internet for the name "Shanann Watts"

7/24/2018 - searched Google for "Man I'm having an affair with says he will leave his wife"

8/4/2018 – for over two hours, searched Google for "wedding dresses"

8/4/2018 - Google search for Chris and Shanann's Facebook accounts

8/8/2018 - Googled topics related to "marrying your mistress

8/11/2018 - in anticipation for her evening with Watts, Kessinger spent forty five minutes searching Google on topics like "how to prepare for anal sex" and "the anal sex guide." This progressed to searches at "Pornhub" for interracial videos and "threesomes with double penetration."

8/11/2018 - having concluded her evening tryst with Watts, Kessinger searched the internet on topics like "Chris Watts" - "Shanann Watts" - "Ronnie Watts" and "2825 Saratoga Trail"

8/14/2018 - searched Google for Shanann Watts

8/14/2018 - spent nearly four hours searching Google and the internet for Watts, news outlets and news accounts of Shanann's disappearance

8/14/2018 – searched Google on topics like "can cops trace text messages" - "How long do phone companies keep text messages" - "Difference between text message content and text message detail"

8/14/2018 - searched the internet for news accounts of this incident and Shanann's name (these searches were conducted frequently by Kessinger throughout the next several days. She deleted every one afterwards)

8/19/2018 - searched the internet on topics related to Amber Frey {the mistress of Scott Peterson; he murdered his wife and unborn child}. Her searches included Frey's book deal, her net worth and "did people hate Amber Frey"
