I had those same thoughts. He, as with many NPD's (and again, I am not a pro by any means, but do believe he is diagnose-able as NPD, and more) tend to lean toward the same personality type as the parent that helped them develop their "narc-i-ness". I noted a tiny bit of that in SW, but she tempered it with love, understanding and empathy...NK doesn't, at least from her interview, appear to have that same tempering.

CW found his mother in NK, JMO.

You can be an NPD without being a full-fledged psychopath, many actors, performers are N, I believe CW's is a Malignant Narcissistic dangerous sadistic ability to kill without remorse.

Sorry that you feel like this group is sexist again...I just believe that the change in voice is purposeful and the majority of people that I know that speak with it have an attitude like they’re better than everyone (which I feel NK sounded like in her interview). However, to be quite honest her “vocal fry” has nothing to do with the fact that she showed little emotion in the interview...which was more concerning to me.

I had to Google vocal fry last night and then listen to examples. I didnt know what it was or notice NK doing it. I actually think it is a form of policing of women, given men supposedly do it too. Same with comments about her looks and how she compares to SW.

Like you I'm far more concerned with what she was 'doing'.. Eg her lack of emotion and concern for what happened. Also very off-putting was that she came across as rude, bossy, somewhat arrogant and condescending.

Unfortunately it's sad as that attitude makes her dislikable.. And given people's opinions of her already it doesn't help her case.

Yes I am aware of the one affair and was from the beginning. She also knew he wanted a separation before her trip. She continued to post about how wonderful he was. He deleted his Facebook after that.

They tried to retract the way they worded it after it drew attention but I believe the wording was sincere the first time.

Having an affair should not equal ruining your life...sorry, she's the only one not dead (heartbreaking, horrible and sad) or in jail for life, yet in my opinion, her life is just as ruined. Imagine the horror of seeing your name in print every day and your nightmare doesn't end. I have a hugely massive problem with seeing NK's life, the life she still has after willfully having an affair with a married man with 2 toddlers and a pregnant wife still living in the family home, the life she still had when researching her Amber Frey book deal options, the life she had when searching Shanann at the same time as sleeping with her husband (I'll eat my socks if she never had any idea that Shanann was pregnant and never did any SM hunting)... the life she had when being questioned and her father was there to say "leading" about questions to protect her... the life she still has to live when according to some she should have been protected by LE (despite being rude, arrogant and sometimes uncooperative) and is a poor thing because she searched for anal sex prep with Shanann's husband and they didn't redact a ton of stuff to spare her feelings because they must have a big old grudge... to be just as ruined as Shanann's life.

Shanann who was pregnant, ill, desperately trying to save her marriage and the health of the unborn child CW later said he didn't want because his new fling was so exciting. Shanann, the wife who was strangled by her husband. Who has no life at all anymore. Who's husband was sleeping with a woman who was in HER own marital home with her things and her babies things. Who can't have her father step in and protect her, or her 3 children anymore. Who has been raked over the coals even after death for being such a bad wife she was probably responsible for her own murder in many circles. Who's husband's mistress was indignant at the thought of him sleeping with his pregnant wife. Who was tossed into the dirt face down with her son partially birthed.

Yeah, no. The sympathy train for Nichol Kessinger does NOT stop at my station.

My continued interest in the case is learning about what CW and NK are hiding.

I think NK's stated reasons for deleting data from her phone (concern about disgust over being connected to CW and not wanting intimate/private texts and photos shared) are deflection (MOO).

Even if the texts, photos, etc. were horribly embarrassing, the murders were more horrible.

She had a moral obligation to be forthcoming with everything that could even remotely help with the investigation.

I would hazard guess that had she been completely honest and made all her data available; i.e. "Dear Mr. LE, I was CW's mistress and although I am mortified by these recent events, and any embarrassment/humiliation/blame I may receive as a result of my affair with him, please take my phone, my computer...anything and everything you need to find the truth", LE probably would not have released all that they did.

We're listening to her interview, are we suppose to gloss over it? I'm sure the public aren't scrutinizing it like we are, it will pass. We had 3 months of people accusing Shanann of all kinds of things, she was such an easy target, and she was the VICTIM. If this wasn't a victim friendly site, do you think blaming Shanann wouldn't continue?

No, you didn't imagine it. I am including all of her searches in my response since it was suggested by someone that only talking about one of her searches is unfair. The following begins on Pg 1887 (Discovery pg 2082).

9/1/2017 - searched the internet for the name "Shanann Watts"

7/24/2018 - searched Google for "Man I'm having an affair with says he will leave his wife"

8/4/2018 – for over two hours, searched Google for "wedding dresses"

8/4/2018 - Google search for Chris and Shanann's Facebook accounts

8/8/2018 - Googled topics related to "marrying your mistress

8/11/2018 - in anticipation for her evening with Watts, Kessinger spent forty five minutes searching Google on topics like "how to prepare for anal sex" and "the anal sex guide." This progressed to searches at "Pornhub" for interracial porn videos and "threesomes with double penetration."

8/11/2018 - having concluded her evening tryst with Watts, Kessinger searched the internet on topics like "Chris Watts" - "Shanann Watts" - "Ronnie Watts" and "2825 Saratoga Trail"

8/14/2018 - searched Google for Shanann Watts

8/14/2018 - spent nearly four hours searching Google and the internet for Watts, news outlets and news accounts of Shanann's disappearance

8/14/2018 – searched Google on topics like "can cops trace text messages" - "How long do phone companies keep text messages" - "Difference between text message content and text message detail"

8/14/2018 - searched the internet for news accounts of this incident and Shanann's name (these searches were conducted frequently by Kessinger throughout the next several days. She deleted every one afterwards)

8/19/2018 - searched the internet on topics related to Amber Frey {the mistress of Scott Peterson; he murdered his wife and unborn child}. Her searches included Frey's book deal, her net worth and "did people hate Amber Frey"

IMO this speaks such volumes to me about NK. I'll keep my opinion to myself. I'm currently listening to interview with NK and just WOW.

She admitted to deleting this data after she knew that law enforcement was involved in the report of CW's missing family members, and she asked CW to delete data on his end involving her (fact: Discovery #1 p570 & 568). She also followed up with CW to make sure his Facebook profile was deleted, rather than inactivated (Discovery #1 p649), and she reportedly asked her friends to delete at least her pictures if not other data from their digital footprints (Discovery #1 p717). She even continued to delete her own google searches researching the crime after CW had begun giving interviews to law enforcement (Discovery #1 p2129)

I think this line of inquiry is interesting.

e.g. did they agree on Monday / Tuesday to delete all text data between then?

I do wonder what nonsense CW was spinning at that time

If that were the case, she really thought they were separated and on the way to a divorce I would agree with you. I just find it exceptionally difficult to believe she did not know he was married with children since she had previously searched for Shan'ann on the internet and she choose to go forward with the affair. Agree about being a home wrecker - saying no is always an option for both parties.

it's speculation as to whether she committed any offence

it's important to remember NK apparently did not actually have any evidence pertaining to the murders

in my view, whether she committed any crime would rather depend on what she deleted and when

Remember that she was legally entitled to "hamper" the investigation by not cooperating at all.

It is not up to NK to determine what may or may not be evidence. MOO

I agree, while I also agree that she is not guilty of murder, she still knew he was married and what she was doing was wrong. She is still alive and in a few years , a few months even, she will be forgotten. I just hope this has been a big lesson for her and she stays away from married men in the future.

I thought you were questioning why it was released, not if she turned it over. Regardless, it was released as it was potential evidence along with everything else that was released. Why cherry-pick the evidence? MOO

Oh I believe she knew he was married. I thought she said he said as much in the interview? But people can be married for show and/or finances but living completely separate lives (i.e. him in the basement). Which is why I think a new baby was such a shock to her (if it was! and yeah I'm not certain if she had stayed off Shanann's fb enough recently to somehow not know that?) I have to run though and this will probably be 30 more posts in when I get back

Yes they all said they knew and that he "seemed excited" about the pregnancy.
