That's because all she heard from Chris was how horrible Shanann was. The only thing good he said about her was that she was a good mother. Everything else was about how mean she was, how he never had a say in anything, she criticized him in front of the kids, he had never been able to be himself, and she made him do all these things he didn't want to do, like lose weight and get healthy. He told his family all of the same things.

Yup, and his family used these things as ammunition against Shanann and her reputation.

They already hated her from the get-go, but he gave them more stones to throw.

These people are incapable of passing up an opportunity like that.

Cindy did it on television, while sister Jamie fed lies to her little fanclub.

The only people who fell for it, were weak-minded people who wanted to.

I understand but we are not like him. We are not sociopaths. For those who are still exploring the reason he did this.....is there something specific you are looking for? Is there something in the evidence you would like to see or something Chris could tell you that would then make you understand why he murdered his children?

To me, ragging on him is of no use, I am only interested in why someone would do this so as a society we can address this.

A couple of years ago, a woman that I knew for forty years turned out to not be who anyone thought she was. She moved around a lot and came back and visited “friends” over the years. She got jobs all over the country in the medical field and would visit between jobs.

The shock took me several months to process .

I don’t know if I will ever process that someone can kill their little children.

I don’t get it! I try, and I try, and I try. That’s why I’m still here at WS. Somebody, please tell me WHY CW did this in a way that makes sense! Help me understand! Those precious, adorable, innocent little girls. How could he? CW has to have some kind of psychological make up like none of us has ever seen, so we have no frame of reference for understanding. I imagine if they took one of those Dr. Phil type brain scans of CW’s brain, he would have black spots all over it.

I once saw a psychic reader on Dr. Phil. She was pretending to have some unusual abilities, and very poorly so, but then they put her into a PET scanner and said that they saw «seizure-like activity, like that of prophets».

CW didn't handle the finances per CW and SW couldn't handle the finances per what CW told NK, implying they were having money problems. That's how I read that. Now, why would CW be telling NK anything about their financial affairs?

Well thats what is weird because in her interview she said they were living Way Beyond their means and she implied some things that I do not want to repeat but another words he, the monster,was worried about the family's finances and that may have been part of motive?!?!?!

But she was not a naive young girl. Surely she knows that men say that kind of thing about wives that they are cheating on.

I guess I'll have to listen to it again. If the context was about the affair maybe he was talking about her. I thought he may have been talking about the girls. I remember him saying those were my babies or something.

So I've just spent the last hour or so watching the confession tapes, scrolling through to try to find that part, and couldn't find it. The closest thing I could find was when he said (something like) "...when I saw her strangling Cece on the monitor and I was going to go in there to talk to her again..." at about 10:00 on this YouTube video from the local news (search for: RAW: Chris Watts confesses to killing pregnant wife, daughters after polygraph (Part 8) )
This might be what I heard before and thought it was "I'm never going to get to talk to her again." I'm going to look for that part a little more, but if I can't find it, I'll delete my previous post about this, unless someone else recalls hearing him say it too, and can find it.

That really bothers me thinking about it. I'll bet that's why he didn't put the kids on the phone with SW while she was in AZ....because they might tell on him.

I remember that part when he said he was going back up to talk to her again. Maybe "back up to talk to her" sounded like "get to talk to her." He was mumbling and speaking very low.

I believe so. He gave the girls cold leftover pizza on Sunday night after the birthday party. It was leftover pizza from Saturday night when CW got a babysitter so he could go out with NK.

Yeah. He was done with them by then. Why allow her parents to face time with the children and not Shannan?
