Does anyone know who watched the kids when they were traveling together on Thrive business?

They didn’t have family in the area, did they?

The reports have been consistent that he confessed and said he would lead LE to the bodies. He was arrested and LE eventually located the bodies. Later reports indicated his family coming in on Wednesday prompted him to go to LE and confess.

I'm betting Andarko has vast tracts of land, much of which is not covered by security cameras. Without specific info it would be hard to know where to look.
He would also know about the specific areas/wells, etc Anadarko shut down after the home explosion (referenced in my above post).

We recently moved from SE Denver (shared a zip code with Glendale). We bought that house from my MIL after renting it from her for years. We looked for another house in our neighborhood (small homes all built in the 50's) and they started at about 350K and went as high as 700K! So, our home out near Fort Morgan and their house in Frederick were a bargain next to Denver or anywhere else in the metro area.

I remember that explosion out there, so tragic.

Psychologically speaking, the reason why this monster killed his family has absolutely NOTHING to do with them at all. It didn't matter how much money they made, or what her job was, or how healthy and beautiful the girls were, or if anyone was having an affair or any of that. The reason he killed his family is 100% about HIM. Sure, he may have his "reasons" why he did it and may use them to justify his actions to others and himself. But the bottom line is that he is a cold blooded, evil, killer. He always has been. He didn't just wake up one day and do this. It has always been inside of himself.

To me, he is a classic case of a man living a fantasy-a true sociopath. They can seem nice, friendly, loving, whatever to make them acceptable to society. But on the inside, they know full well it is an act. They have no soul, no conscience and are simply an actor in the stage of life. They may think that if they portray this image that they will become that person they are portraying. But underneath - no. They know there is nothing inside of them. They know that they are a worthless human being. They know that everything they portray is a lie.

When that lie is about to be bust wide open (see Scott Peterson) they know the jig is up. So what do they do? They don't decide to kill themselves to get out of it. No. They are evil. They don't want to die. That isn't the answer. The answer is to remove what is about to reveal them and in many cases, that is their family.

If a true sociopath killer can get away with it, just think of the benefits! Poor man. His family disappeared one day. His whole family was taken from him. He gets the benefit of being a grieving husband and father just trying to make it out there on his own again. (see Drew Peterson.) No divorce. No name dragged through the mud. No revelation that he wasn't the perfect person he pretended to be. His secret would be safe and he could move on. These people in his life? He never loved them at all. The relationship didn't fall apart. He didn't fall apart. He NEVER loved them. If he had ever loved them he could have never done what he did. Period.

Yes, even Monday night he is voicing his future plans to sell the house (now that he is rid of the obligations). But he isnt all that clever.

How does he sell a house if his wife is still missing and not declared legally dead? How does that work?
Bet he was planning on sayin she left w the kids. And he didn’t plan on cracking. He didn’t plan on much did he? Nicole foiled the whole plan!!

I know several couples that live beyond their means. Not a one of them have a healthy marriage. It’s all for show and just heart breaking so many feel they have to live like others. Heck the less money I spend the happier I am. Sure I like nice things I just don’t like the payment book that comes w it. Jmo and not bashing anybody.

I watched a little of his YouTube video of his speech. VERY telling. "Sometimes you have a lot of distractions like work, hobbies or a relationship. And it weakens your bond with your spouse...."

I am, what’s the word, amazed by his calm demeanor in speech. This was the first thing I noticed when I watched his original interview, was that he sounds just like a normal one of these granola guys around here. Moo.

Slain Colorado woman was to have 'gender reveal' party on Saturday

Shanann Watts had been looking forward to a party on Saturday to disclose the gender of her third child, CNN affiliate KDVR said, quoting a friend.

A candelight vigil is to be held in the Wyndham Hill neighborhood on Friday night. A makeshift memorial with flowers and stuffed animals is growing outside the Watts' house.

Tim Sunderland, community manager for the Wyndham Hill Master Association, the homeowner association, said the clubhouse will be open at 5 p.m. local time for people to congregate and comfort each other.

I believe I saw on FB that SW father watched them at their house in CO for at least one of the trips the couple went on.

Right! That's why I thought it was so interesting. The psychologist is just like, "Wow, what a good actor!" And I disagree entirely with that

gotta tell you guys I am relieved we all agree on the guy I was afraid my post was gonna come off like me being a jerk !

I found the statement something like friends she has that i don't know about as being so power and control and envy and anger based

Interestingly he has been hired as an expert for the defense in 60% of his 50 times he has testified.

Was CW seen putting the bodies into the tanks on the security tapes??? I am wondering how they knew to look in them, did CW tell them. I can not imagine the people who had to retrieve those little bodies out of them. Makes me sick.

I believe this is what happened. He told police he committed the murders during interrogation, and told them where the bodies were, and the company pulled the surveillance video. That's how LE was confident about where to find the bodies. We need to see those police interrogations!

Tell me about it! We are all stressed out financially here, but we don’t kill our entire families. So financial stress or not, there’s much more to the equation, meaning serious screws loose.

Has anyone found a photo of these gas & oil tanks? Are they the big giant ones you walk up to with a ladder on the side of them or smaller?

FUNNY But so TRUE.

Gosh. Not in my experience. I mean I am friends with some of my opposing counsel.

But in criminal law mostly judges, prosecutors and defense attorneys are not all buddy buddy. Especially not during a trial. It's very intense. Very grueling. No sleep. Little food.

I do primarily family law but I interned at the federal public defender. They seemed to have quite a bit of disdain for the prosecutors.

My law partner does criminal defense. He complains a lot about being treated with contempt by DA's, judges even clerks.

I do minor appearances for him and at a lower level I see defense attorneys (private and public) getting along with the state. Kind of joking around or at least being friendly in the back room where you go to discuss what's happening with the case or possible deals. But this is more minor stuff.

Once you get to the big leagues there seems to be a lot of righteousness on both sides. I've seen it at court.

In family law we all go to the same seminars with each other and the judges. That's not the case in criminal law. Defense people don't roll in the same circles at all. Their seminars are vastly different.

Trial is grim and serious. I have never ever seen or heard of a serious case being discussed informally like that. Especially with alcohol involved. I think that would be outrageous.

But maybe in some states, especially in smaller towns, maybe that stuff happens.

BBM

I think there have been a couple of reports about her leaving him (one used the word "infidelity"), but here is one from the media thread:

Shanann Watts murder case: Friends, family recall life of slain NC native :: WRAL.com
"She mentioned about them having problems, Shanann and Chris," Search said.
Search said Onorati told her the two were planning to separate.

ETA: Here is the article that mentions infidelity. This is a different friend than the one mentioned above.

Chris Watts case: Everything we know so far about the alleged murders of his wife, daughters
Thayer said she had been told last week by Shanann that she had concerns of infidelity on Chris’ behalf. “She said that it came to her mind that possibly he could be cheating but at the same time, she was like, you know, he has no game,” Thayer said.

BBM

What does that mean, "he has no game"? That he's drippy and unconfident? I wanted her to explain that comment.

But whether he confessed or LE/employer saw him dispose of bodies on video is not known to us AFAIK. It’s speculative that they were discovered by the employer’s video. Have you seen a source stating video was the way they found out, Tippy Lynn?

we can speculate.

Did he get there before LE?

I don't know!! I kind of remember something about them entering with the friend to do a welfare check but I really don't know?

It chills me to the bone, that someone you love and trust, is the father of your kids, could just turn on you like that...I knew we see it all the time here, but gosh, how could Shanann or anyone EVER imagine such a thing happenening, those wedding photos and pictures of them together...you really just never ever know about someone sometimes.

I'd agree. Rentals are outrageous as well, small apartments are around $1000 and up. House rentals in my old neighborhood in Denver are more that $3000.

ETA: Those house rental prices are about 3 times our mortgage/escrow payment in rural Colorado.

Who would buy this house? Even at a rock bottom price?

Not me. I couldn't do it. Even if it was Feng Shui or whatever, I believe that spirits of evil would linger.
