Thread closed to repair broken quotes. The longer they go on, the worse they get and it becomes more difficult to fix them.

Check back in a bit.
Sorry and thanks profusely!

The fact that she is a earpod user makes me happy. That means she uses her cellphone music and stuffs a lot on the cellphone. I wonder what they found. Jmo

All churches in Colorado were closed due to COVID 19 restrictions. All five churches in Salida held virtual services starting at 11:00 am. IMO

Ah, that's helpful, have found the church .... so 9 a.m., granted they were via youtube due to Covid, but this could mean the bike ride was rather early, maybe 6, 7 - or earlier .... once you factor in the ride, getting home, showering, breakfast maybe, the usual drive to church - if this Mothers Day was following the usual routine we could be looking at a very early bike ride, had been thinking of a later time slot before, but now .... h'mm

Contingent Fees, Criminal Cases in CO?
{{ETA: a followup to issue of whether CO crim def atty can be retained on contingency fee basis. As always I welcome comment, clarification, correction, esp'ly from our legal professionals.}
Briefly:

I wonder how often a criminal client has agreed to a ;) :rolleyes: :eek:contingency fee, conditioned on procuring a conviction on all charges, a long sentence, and maximum $ penalty. Any clients engaging that def. atty again? ;) :rolleyes: :eek: J/K.

I recall in the very early threads that SM reportedly "liked" Grace Church on her social media. Not that a "like" is evidence of membership but the same church advertised prayer vigils for SM early in the investigation. (A complete listing of places of worship can be found at localprayers.com -- Salida has 12 places).

I've given all this probably way more thought than it needed but, the fact is, we really have no idea what she looked like Mother's Day weekend.
It's like we have just enough info to make us question everything (her cancer diagnosis and treatment, times 2) and not enough information to rule out the most obvious such as hair loss, weight loss, or gain, etc.
The fact that all the pics used in the media about her, are over a year old, also makes me wonder why in the heck year old pics are being used?
I've had some health issues and I look a LOT different now, than I did a year ago. And even two years ago.
In fact, most folks (men and women both) in the 50 and 50+ crowd, tend to change considerably in a year's time if there's been any health concerns.
I don't even know if we'll ever see different pics of her but I have a feeling she really looked much different than the pics we're seeing.

I may have missed this, are these photos over a year old? I was thinking they were probably very recent, especially the Colorado cafe one; do we know where they're sourced from? I will try and catch up on past threads, the info is probably in there, apologies if behind on things. MOO

AFAIK, every state/commonwealth bars contingency fees in criminal cases. This is because it creates an incentive for an attorney to attempt to bribe a judge or jury.

We don’t really know as this is one of the puzzling details - LE hasn’t released a “last known wearing “description or a dated picture IIRC - and the public posts on SM are over a year old - no idea of what she lookEd like at time of disappearance JMO

Lauren Scharf tweeted this in reply if there was any arrest in the Suzanne Morphew case;

I have texted and called the CBI spokesperson and Chaffee County Sheriff. I’m waiting to hear back but in the meantime I also called the Chaffee County Jail and asked if Barry Morphew was there and a deputy said no. #FindSuzanne #MissingPerson

I find it interesting that she specifically asked if BM was there and not just in general who would be arrested. Jmo

In the end CBI told her that there are no new updates and no arrests made.

I find it interesting she suspects BM too. Jmo

I was hoping last night that Lauren Scharf was onto some news about remains being found. Sadly this was not so.

SM is the same age as my daughter and it is sad to think her vibrant life has been taken. I would like to think that she was taken somewhere but the news doesn’t seem to indicate that.

It must be so hard for her daughters. I can just imagine the tears as they go to bed at night not knowing where their Mom is or what happened to her. It must be gut wrenching to know their father is a suspect and how do you deal with that.

Hopefully there is news sooner than later.

With all the “buzz” yesterday, I wondered if instead of an arrest, maybe someone was brought in for questioning, not necessarily BM but perhaps someone LE feel needs to be investigated. They certainly haven’t been sitting on their hands these past weeks and maybe their investigation has revealed certain activity during the time in question? Find the little fish first? Just a thought.

Yes, except some of the churches have bumped their livecast times earlier as they have become more comfortable with podcasting, and are typically experiencing twice the attendance of physical service. I caught the original sermon before it was archived, and have been using an 11:00 am service in my own version of the timeline. JMO

Nice thought, i agree maybe something did happen. Let's hope so.

From SM's FB page:

The photo of her with her hand on her head was first posted on her FB on 08.03.19 Suzanne Morphew

The photo of her sitting at an outdoor cafe, isn't on her FB but all the MSM articles I've seen source it from the CCSO. So, we really don't know when that pic was taken but the other was almost a year ago at least (based on the date posted - it could actually be much older).

RBBM. I was thinking about this yesterday. If someone is a POI in a murder case, it is somewhat scary that LE has to let a minor child live with the suspect until such time as he is arrested or charged.

Yes, it seems wrong. I think Cheryl Coker's husband has their minor daughter (she's been found deceased, he's still a POI)
sigh.
