investigation did not 'start at the home'.... house was taken, May ~20th.... reported missing May 10th

Not so, as per DailyMail :

Suzanne's husband Barry Morphew, 52, has said he was away on a training course for his job as a volunteer firefighter in Denver, Colorado, when she vanished. ... But DailyMail.com can now reveal that Morphew, 52, has not been allowed to enter the home he shared with Suzanne since he returned from his trip to Denver. May 20, 2020 is date published

Speculation follows
It occurs to me that if BM staged the bike the possibility of the bike having moisture or dew on it when found later that day. Good chance since it was cool underbrush that it might not have burned off. But if the bike had gone off the side mid morning then probably no moisture on bike.

True.

There are probably some posters here who are members of #TeamBarry.

I'm just rooting for Suzanne.

JMO.
i am rooting for the truth. let the rest fall where it may.

do we have any locals here? i can't trust the google maps on this river. rivers in that area might be a slow easy small stream in one season and be huge raging monsters during snow melt. i think snow melt would have had that river flowing fast and hard in may.

I will have to disagree.

LE must have combed the house and surrounding lawns and it was stated earlier that SAR dogs were used.
From the correctional facility and iirc, they were multi-purpose dogs so would've been trained for both a live person and possible HRD as well ?

It also appears from the link in my post , that the sheriff indicates the investigation started at the Morphew home and branched outward.
Something --imo-- led LE back to the house for a second search.
That's big in my book.
Unfortunately afaik there are no photos of the second search courtesy of the DM or any other news site so we don't know if anything else was removed.

But there could be more evidence found in the future via the security footage the neighbors were asked to save but not send in yet.
Hoping for an update soon !
MOO

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate PE too. It's just a knee-jerk reaction, I guess. Having experienced sexual discrimination (and harassment) my entire life (as I'm sure everyone can identify with), I'm ultra sensitive and I could tell LS was uncomfortable as well. I know it goes with the territory, especially in the case of older gentlemen.
In retrospect, should've kept it to myself, lol.

I'm just now watching the interview and to me she didn't look the least bit uncomfortable with that question.
I was also not at all put off by it.
They asked her perspective as a woman, then again as an investigative journalist.
Similar to how a reporter might ask a police officer "as a father, how does this make you feel?"

Anyway, jmo.

Good points.

More speculation based on video testimony from the other interview with BM :

Also, in the spontaneous video by TD he said that the day before the video we've all viewed (most of us, anyway) BM appeared to be wet and pale.
"zombie-like" were TD's words although that may be an exaggeration.
What was he doing in or near that creek ?
Imo.

As I recall, someone said they can put a "hold" on property, not clear any longer. sounds like it was on hold and then they got a SW to go further.

It isn't clear...listen to this news report

…"the house continues to be held by law enforcement during this open investigation through a search warrant that has been sealed by the court,” the sheriff’s office stated." Chaffee County Sheriff John Spezze stated that it is not unusual in these types of investigations to start at the home and extend outward, in an effort to seek clues surrounding the disappearance.

ETA...shhhh, original post here was just a suggestion for those who read it.

Maybe if the family would show their concern by cleaning up the Find Suzanne page,( it's under their control,) people wouldn't feel so strongly about Barry. The accusations are brutal on that page and have been sitting there for weeks on end. It's under their control
bbm
Agreed.
The silence is deafening.
Probably the first missing person's case where no one from the family is talking.

Theories :
1). Maybe Suzanne's side of the family doesn't disagree with the comments, and just want her found and answers ?
They deserve to know what happened.

2). I can't speak for BM's side as we don't know much other than the spokesperson TN went silent and has stayed that way except a brief statement from TN's wife.

I think it is the YouTuber, John Lordan, that used to say at the end of his true crime podcasts to post any questions or comments below, but be mindful these people have families and many times they read your posts. So I know if one does a Google Search, the Websleuths thread shows up on the second, if not the first page of the Google Search. I try to be objective, but at the same time I also wonder if Suzanne's daughters are reading my posts. Even hiding behind a nom de plume, I still try to be objective and try my best not to indicate guilt.

Point taken, I'd hate to think the daughters were reading here. The Facebook find Suzanne page that was set up by the family is full of posts that would upset them as well. They are more likely to have seen those by now. Moo

i think the family is smart to not be speaking to the media. anything they say has the potential to be twisted. imo, they need to get a PI. LE has their hands tied in some directions and some people wont talk to LE. a PI has more wiggle room and some people are more willing to talk to a PI than a cop.

The sheriff's words are troubling IMO b/c he could've just said "no comment", or "yes, he's cooperating".

"We hope he continues to cooperate" indicates some earlier dialogue or questioning that might have gone sideways ?
^^sbm

Actually, I do think had it not been for the frenzy created by NY Post days earlier, the Sheriff may have given a simpler "yes."

Because Sheriff Speeze has been so tight-lipped with this investigation, it's fairly easy to trace his statements-- including this one about BM cooperating, with a bit more perspective:

It was within days of SM reported missing, and all quiet on the local LE homefront, that NY Post came out with this was an "open criminal investigation" --citing the Sheriff, and that the Sheriff declined to comment on whether or not the husband was cooperating with authorities.

I recall how in the following 48 hours, media went crazy pretty much inferring no comment was the equivalent of the husband not cooperating.

It was two days later (May 15) at the first presser that a local reporter eagerly asked about the husband's cooperation (or lack of) that Sheriff Speeze gave his infamous response about BM cooperating.

I've been astonished by how this is happening. Publicly accusing a person of a crime they may not have committed

That is the interesting question. I've brought up the Heidi Brussard case a few times because of the false accusations against her partner (Shane, I think). I've noticed some posters explicitly say they no longer make accusations against someone who may end up being innocent. Others, included a couple on this board, continued to blame him after the fact because of his "bizarre" behavior. I'm sure that's what would happen here, too. If BM turned out to not be involved, the false accusers would justify themselves by accusing him of having some other character flaw (probably having to do with sleeveless t-shirts). Basically, doubling down on the immoral position.

I guess I am just a newbie. I hold myself accountable for all my actions.
Just as I held out for as long as humanly possible (not really) for Letecias innocence (first rodeo) I AM trying to use that experience here. TBH, that was more about my hope that he was alive somewhere. I am not holding out that hope here, we’ll still a little.

“It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts.” ― Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes

also known as experimenter bias, very hard to eliminate.

I just see the different assessments we make of BMs behavior and actions to be remarkably different than LETECIA’s.

Significantly, I remember us being somewhat mild in our comments, until much later in that case. Also, her theories WERE hers alone IIRC
So humor me, when possible. I’m learning, I hope. In real life, I’d still be on the fence, whatever that tells you in this case.

From the YT blogger interview of BM-- filmed around May 31, the water can be seen raging fast (versus slow easy stream). MOO

I think LS said in that YT video with the PE gentlemen that her interview with SM's friend would possibly be airing either tonight or tomorrow night on her Fox station, has anyone seen anything on her Twitter indicating whether or not either of her SM pieces will be on tonight?

I don’t care much about BM’s behavior, although it certainly isn’t a good look. I’m focused on law enforcement’s behavior, as that is a far more reliable gauge of what happened.

The second Letecia gave that infamous back to the camera interview, all hell broke loose. I don’t recall any comments being mild in nature, and I assure you, mine were not.
