My impression is that he’s a complete novice of such things, as he should be, and provided his interpretation of what could have happened.

There’s nothing anyway reported that prints were wiped clean, other than what’s on social media.
Thanks for the correction! You are right about the prints. They weren’t wiped clean. Instead, according to BM, ten different people touched that bike and destroyed evidence. Not to mention all those cars and the rain destroying tracks in the dirt. Yeah, according to BM, LE really messed things up  Maybe they’ll find some mountain lion prints on that bike too!

BBM:

I've been worried about abandoned mines, in particular.

I just don't know whether/ how many abandoned mines are in proximity to their home.

I definitely think she's somewhere that the perp knew and had been to himself prior to her disappearance.

It would have been a location that occurred to him as being the ideal place to hide a body.

I think she's in a spot that's both remote, and difficult to access.

JMO.
Yes, and there are so many possibilities within in an hour or so of their home.

Hmm in thinking about this perhaps it is a pre-emptive strike Considering we are 12 days away from a permanent guardianship hearing ???
JMO
You mean in terms of Suzanne's family and a potential objection?

BBM:

I have no doubt he's been scouring the internet reading what people have been saying online about the case.

Image is Everything.

He's in damage control mode right now.

For sure. The only reason for the interview is public relations--he won't really be able to offer new information. I think it's genuinely difficult for most of us to tell when someone is lying, and practiced, polished lying is part of preparing for a trial. Thinking of Suzanne's daughters tonight and every single night that she is not with them.

“People don’t know the truth”: Suzanne Morphew’s husband breaks silence after three months | FOX21 News Colorado

During a 25-minute conversation that took place Tuesday, Barry theorized over what may have happened to his wife. He mentioned the possibility of an animal attack, an accident, perhaps, with someone on the road, or even, he said, a run-in with someone who knows her well.

Barry declined an in-person interview and said he did not want a recording of the call to be aired.

He said he has continued to search for Suzanne, the mother of his two daughters, despite the public’s apparent perception he isn’t doing enough.

Per location, wouldn't BM have left her body somewhere en route to Denver? I'm curious about whether there is evidence he was there. It's hard to imagine he would lie completely about it--I suspect he has cell phone pings or some form of record showing he was in Denver as an alibi?

“People don’t know the truth”: Suzanne Morphew’s husband breaks silence after three months | FOX21 News Colorado

For the first time since May 10, the day Suzanne Morphew seemingly disappeared from her Chaffee County home, her husband, Barry, spoke, over the phone, exclusively to FOX21’s Lauren Scharf.

More than three months have passed since 49-year-old Suzanne Morphew reportedly left home on a bike ride, and didn’t return.

According to one of just a handful of updates, the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office said a neighbor reported Morphew missing.

[So glad Lauren Scharf did this interview.] A few interesting selections from the article, since BM is not allowing the video to be shared.

"“I’ve never been asked to do a polygraph,” Barry said. “There is nothing that I am hiding. I have given three – 30 hours of testimony to the FBI and the CBI. I’ve answered every question. Every single question.”

**

"Barry did admit an inconsistency in one timeline he provided to investigators.

“It was only because I didn’t know the time that I did something, a mechanical thing, to my bobcat,” he said. “I was confused and I just found out my wife was missing, and I was a little bit not in my right mind when they were asking me these questions, but I did the best I could and I answered everything. I never once declined any interview.”

Regardless of what others may think, Barry said a big concern of his is the way in which the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office has handled this investigation."

“The Sheriff’s Department screwed this whole thing up from the beginning and now they are trying to cover it up and blame it on me,” he said. He went on to cite an incident he found particularly troubling, which occurred, he said, when deputies found his wife’s bike.

“My buddy was there right after that, and he said that they completely destroyed the evidence, and he tried to stop them, but they wouldn’t listen to him and said, ‘this is not CSI,'” Barry said. “There’s no evidence for the investigators to see because the Sheriff’s Department completely obliterated it.”

Why doesn't he want a recording of the call to be aired?

he didn't want to be recorded..

Oh that stuck out so much to me. So much. It prevents voice analysis and any notation of pauses after questions. It is a scrubbed "interview." :(

Can I at least raise an eyebrow if he’s wearing a wig and sunglasses, and stops periodically to inhale helium from a balloon? :p
Oh, Barry........

It appears to be all LE’s fault. And God works in mysterious ways. What about Suzanne?

  • #655
Are these going to be questions that he was given to show what will be asked, or are these going to be questions out of the blue????
Sometimes people are provided the types of questions they will be asked ahead of an interview???

ETA: Anyone know??? And MOO (I guess).
Couple pages back, someone said he provided the questions. Does "he" mean his attorney? I guess we'll have to ask Lauren directly after it airs.

  • #656
IMO, he has not wanted his face or voice “out there” since the beginning. A puzzle, and MOO.

You state that you're "not here to crucify him," yet you also state that his words have been:

* obfuscations and misdirection
* nonsensical ramblings

Your words are exactly why I would've advised Barry against this interview: Nobody really wants to listen; they've already judged him in their minds. He gains nothing in the court of public opinion yet may be giving the government ammunition against him.
That's not crucifying him. That's just analyzing his words and body language with respect to the poster's life experiences in dealing with other human beings.

Yes, the blaming of LE which highlights BM as the victim is rarely "innocent"--positioning himself rather than Suzanne as the victim (i.e. "Suzanne would just be happy if someone got saved in all this") is heartless. :(
