I agree, @Goldenseal. I’ve always thought she was fairly close by. First of all he doesn’t want to be driving around with a body in his truck. And secondly, he wanted to do what he was going to do under cover of darkness. Sunrise in Salida on May 10th was at 5:55 a.m. First light began about 5:25. He had about 5 1/2 hours of darkness from the time he left the dig site until the break of dawnITA. What he actually did during the Saturday and overnight through Sunday is going to bring him down. As you said, there was no reason for him to be at the dig site Saturday at midnight. Getting it earlier, or just as he was leaving town Sunday morning, makes much more sense. UNLESS you are using the equipment for a secret reason. The timeline is so darn tight, though -- I have to wonder if SM is somewhere nearby.![]()
well this is the headscratcher part , for me.MOO the only reason to go at 11pm to Salida instead of in the morning to pick up anything up prior to going to Denver would be to give a reason for leaving the house that night.
I agree. ^^^us being able to see EXACTLY who BM is.
bbmExcellent post @Seattle1, thank you!
Many people do not realize this phenomenon
but it certainly exists. It does mold the young boy for who/what he becomes when mature.
Notice who showed up for BM when trouble
happened, his mother. And she stayed at his home to fully support the little prince in his time of need. How old is he again?
Also may be reason BM may have preconceived
hostility w/ male LE/sheriff. Have they called him out for bad behavior before? Or does BM
'expect' other men not to fully buy or believe his BS that he's been spewing his whole life to puff up himself? Men often recognize his type
pretty quickly. And call him to task.
Wonder where his sisters have been in all this?
It's true that a temporary dump site is possible, but man oh man, is that risky. But it's probably riskier to 1) transport a body for a long time or 2) bury her so close that she is found quickly.well this is the headscratcher part , for me.
I believe that trip was an important part of his
crime- Was he hiding her body at the site (as
LE apparently suspected also) or was it just a
temporary dump site-put body in hole, cover with dirt, then move it at a later time. But it was removed from the home very quickly.
ordinarily I'd agree about his wanting darknessI agree, @Goldenseal. I’ve always thought she was fairly close by. First of all he doesn’t want to be driving around with a body in his truck. Of course, we don’t know when and where BM’s truck went that night. LE likely does.
MORE PIECES OF THE PUZZLE - we are getting there !One hundred and five days of investigation has resulted in ..........?
I have always considered it possible that he hauled a load of dirt with SM under it, but clear something up for me about the various GPS capabilities. (This is assuming he drove the newer truck to Denver.)My 757th possible scenario about the machinery running at midnight or thereabouts. HYPOTHETICAL: SM was murdered at home. BM leaves her body at the house, drives to Salida, and digs up enough dirt to load into the back of the pickup to cover a body. He has to then re-level and re-tamp the dirt for the concrete pour the next day. He heads back to the house, cleans up, then loads the body under the dirt in the back of his truck. He either starts out for Denver and leaves the body somewhere on his way to Denver or he dropped the body somewhere nearer Salida. I mentioned in an earlier post that the area between Johnson Village and Antero Junction was the least populated most rugged area between Salida and Denver. Johnson Village is about a 40 minute drive from the Morphew home.
If he is stopped on his way to Denver, he is just a landscaper on his way to a job in Denver,. No suspicions would have been raised because no one knew that SM was missing at that point.
When LE learned about the machinery running at night, that BM had been hired to do the prep for the concrete pour and that his truck was there that night, they began to investigate the site with GPR and dogs. The GPR would have found spots that indicated ground disturbance. This all together was likely enough PC for the search warrant. It would also account for the fact that they might not have found anything during that search. (Although we still don’t know if they found anything or not.)
Give numbers and messages to L.E.There was something I hadn't caught before.
Look at this paragraph again:
"BM stated: "...we are just a Godly, loving, caring, family and this thing is just a tragedy.”
BM is LYING
Draper said that shortly after uploading the video of his conversation to YouTube, he began to get a number of text messages from numbers he didn’t recognize. He said that some of the text messages “weren’t very nice,” and that one suggested he would “pay.” (Is that how loving caring people talk?)."
I just caught the plural word "numbers."
Not just one number, but several numbers were texting nasties to TD. Wow!!
Who's numbers??? Did BM have more than one cell? Did BM barrow someone's cell? Was someone helping BM text TD?
MOO in my scenario, whether BM or a stranger if she is not within 1/2 mile of her home they made tracks for the un-urbanized no camera section of 50 south of Salida.well this is the headscratcher part , for me.

That, too, but I haven't written about that because there are so many variables it's a useless exercise. I'm sure LE did that first thing because they have all the GPS info etc., but yeah, what the heck was he doing in Denver? Literally, what was he doing each hour he was there? One thing police know, that we can't know, is how much sense it really made getting to Denver at 7:30 am given the job.
Agree close- why? stay where he would not be a suspicious person at a late hour or a place he knows very well as desolate maybe the fire park or ? But nowhere he would be seen as suspicious- so it had to be close imoI agree, @Goldenseal. I’ve always thought she was fairly close by. I meant how much "set up" was actually needed? A whole day seems excessive. Would getting there at 9:30 not have worked? In other words, leaving his wife so early on MD was elective, even if it was true there was a business need. That, too, but I haven't written about that because there are so many variables it's a useless exercise. I'm sure LE did that first thing because they have all the GPS info etc., but yeah, what the heck was he doing in Denver? Literally, what was he doing each hour he was there?
Maybe BM confused the “bobcat” with the “Mountain Lion”. They are both cats??
In the arrest affidavit for L.Stauch it shows how they tracked her vehicles. In #156 it says they could tell her vehicle was stopped for 5 minutes in the same area they had found DNA evidence. I don’t know if it was by GPS though. Says the FBI pulled a computer chip off the Tiguan to extract raw data. The Tiguan was equipped with CarNet.I have always considered it possible that he hauled a load of dirt with SM under it, but clear something up for me about the various GPS capabilities. (This is assuming he drove the newer truck to Denver.)
If you pull off to the side of the road anywhere and stay for the amount of time to hurriedly carry a body to a mineshaft/hole/abandoned building, does the GPS tell you that you've stopped and for how long? If not, how the heck would you ever find a dumped body along any long stretch of a trip?
