Yes, fire chief confirmed that there was no fire training but there seem to have been early reports from family that BM was attending fire training in Denver. That’s the first thing I remember hearing about this case—before the Daily Mail. I think BM fed that story to family early and it was reported to media early on.
This is exactly what I think. I don't know if BM or LE were first to contact the Moormans but AM got it from somewhere (see PE interview).
However, training v. convention (I think it was 'convention') may have been miscommunicated by one Moorman to another (as in the game 'telephone').

Great post!!!
I’m with you- polygraph aside, BM has LIED numerous times about taking one.

If you don’t want to take one, fine, that’s your prerogative. Don’t LIE about taking one!! To me, it suggests guilt when you lie about these things.
MOO

And toting up all the various answers (aka lies) that BM has given on just about every Q he's been asked rings multiple alarm bells. He's covered every possible permutation re the lie detector test.
His answers re his whereabouts on Mother's day are similarly convoluted. Early reports (e.g. via the DM) stated he was on a fire training day. This was later refuted but interestingly cropped up again during a Profiling Evil broadcast, where some of SM's family members reported that BM had told them just that. Suzanne's brother asked BM where he was on MD, and was told by Barry that he'd been at work rebuilding a faulty wall. This is different again to the preparatory work he told others he was doing that Sunday, in advance of concrete being poured into house foundations the next day.
I'm continually amazed by the fact that some people do not take into account that the info/data they provide will be triangulated by LE, and that the levels of convergence/divergence will be thoroughly analysed. BM told SM's brother that he returned home around 6pm that Sunday, while telling others that it was around 9pm.
Even with taking into account unintentional misreporting by witnesses recounting what BM said to them, the levels of inconsistency in BM's statements are myriad.

I haven't to date commented on BM's "interview" with Lauren S. I found it so profoundly, morally repugnant that I chose not to. His personality/character traits are alarming, and not, in my opinion, those of a man who is genuinely concerned for the welfare of others, least of all his missing wife. That interview was all about him and no-one else.

Human Bones Found in Highlands Ranch

What are the chances that this could be Suzanne? There is no additional information that I have been able to find as of right now.
Graphic :

I keep thinking there'd still be a body.
As in hair, clothing, and jewelry intact ?

Playing the Devil's advocate here : Plus, wouldn't BM dump her body in a more remote location ? He has his reputation to consider, you know ?
Imo.

Not to be macabre..but has enough time passed where there would be bones found? Wouldn't there still be a body?
That depends on so many different variables. For example, what state was the body in when it was disposed of (intact, dismembered, burnt, skeletonized, etc) When left in the wild it could be disturbed by different animals who might take different parts back to their dens etc. The degree of decomposition depends on temperature/climate, whether left exposed to the elements or hidden by burial, etc. The fact that a skull and bone fragments have been found in such close proximity suggests that attempts may have been made to destroy evidence - e.g. through burning, acid reduction or mechanical breakdown of body parts. It's impossible to say without further information.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday it has begun a death investigation after deputies found human bones in Highlands Ranch.

At about 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, a resident called the sheriff’s office to alert them that the resident had found a human skull and other bone fragments while playing disc golf at the West Fork Disc Golf Course in Highlands Ranch, according to a press release from DCSO. The resident was searching for a disc when they discovered the bones in a ditch filled with trees and brush, according to a spokesperson.

My comment. This is an area where a golf course was completed in May and it seems a little coincidental that Suzanne also went missing in May and now human remains are found there. MOO.

ETA if you look at the tent picture, is that a skull on the table inside the tent?

Since we don’t really know for sure where he dumped her remains I think it’s possible - wouldn’t that be a wonderful thing for her family ? jmo
Its been awhile since I re-visited Kelsey's case, but didn't PF BURN her body or at least tried to ??? They found what was possible human remains.
I know they discussed the fire pit and burning of items during the trial and I guess I took it to mean he burned her remains.
Maybe I am not remembering this correctly-- I am following too many cases and hard to keep up at times. LOL

I just took a little virtual ride down the street via bing maps, and if I was in the right stomping grounds, that's a super weird spot for remains to be found.

The 9000 block of S. Broadway looks to be a main thoroughfare, with plenty of business, houses, churches, etc., lining the road on both sides. Traffic passing pretty steadily.

Not at all what you'd call a remote location.

PF did burn her body.
I'm pretty confident that the remains found are not going to be Kelsey.
I think her remains are buried in that landfill LE searched unsuccessfully.

Never say never, though.

One thing's for sure:
That's someone's son or daughter.
Sad discovery.

I remember they burnt the body and ate pizza but also remember maybe the remains possibly being disposed in landfill. Hoping they can identify these remains for closure for some grieving relatives anyway.

If he worked on a job at that site at any point, I imagine BM describes his current context. MOO.

I agree completely. I would never let my clients take polygraphs because it is my job as their defense attorney to protect them and ensure the state makes the state's case based on admissible evidence. When you defend bad people all day you realize many criminal defendants (at least in my own experience) have a problem with the truth and even ordinary things get twisted and embellished into lies. Do I want my pathological liar client to take a polygraph or talk to investigators or do anything except wait for me? Nooope.

But if my husband was missing? Hook me up and rule me out. I don't have concerns about the polygraph test as an investigative tool. I have concerns about my criminal defense clients being liars 90% of the time.
So happy to see you weighing in again. Invaluable insight!

It’s a disc golf course And your timing is right. I think the course got its first play in July (due to pandemic). So there was a period of time when it was completed but not in use.

I don’t think it’s SM but who knows, maybe it is. I just don’t see how you drive out of a remote area and into a populated area to dispose of a body. But thankfully I’m not a push-up obsessed murderer and wouldn’t understand.

Yes, it was reported that Kelsey's remains were burned. If I recall correctly - and I could be wrong - there were reports that one of her teeth was found. Incredibly high temperatures are required to incinerate bones. It would be impossible to achieve this in the open air without high-grade accelerants - which would send flames into the air and attract attention. Long bones and the skull would be the most difficult to get rid of by burning. It's not impossible that the skull and bone fragments are Kelsey's; the state of the skull on first examination (prior to DNA analysis) would yield vital clues. I understood that he bludgeoned Kelsey to death and with such force that some of her teeth were dislodged and propelled out of her mouth. Any skull taking that amount of force is likely to have multiple fractures.

Well, Barry was a greenskeeper previously in Indiana and worked at the golf course where Suzanne’s family lived. I could definitely see him expressing an interest in and/or providing his skills for a disc golf course.

I still think the body or remains are closer to home but who knows? Hopefully some family finds closure due to this find whether Suzanne’s family or someone else’s. IMO

Could this be a project BM’s company worked? If he does dirt moving work he may have been. Total wild guess and maybe wishful thinking that SM can be found. MOO.

And I am not waiting for LE to ask me anything, because I'm going to be asking "What is it you guys need from me right now? What can I do?"
If they tell me I can take a polygraph, I'll take a polygraph.
Whatever they need from me, they're going to get.

Not even @MassGuy.
JMO.

That's exactly how innocent people behave. Sebastian Junger's absorbing book "A Death in Belmont" contains research, along with anecdotal experience from LE, about how people who are telling the truth behave during police questioning versus those who hide the truth.

Truthtellers become quite upset and even angry when they are suspected of wrong behavior and accused of lying. They passionately defend their innocence, adamantly repeating the same statements which are unvarying in detail. They won't let you move onto another subject. They pound the table. They demand to undergo polygraph exams and any other testing. In other words, they loudly insist on being heard.

Liars deflect. And LE knows the difference.

The Scott Peterson and Chris Watts interrogations are good examples of passivity, deflection, and weak denials.

[BTW, A Death in Belmont is a gripping read. As a child, Junger's mother hired a handyman whose name was Albert Desalvo, AKA the Boston Strangler. Junger, a talented writer, has been haunted by the experience his entire life.]

As I recall it, after the accelerant burn, Patrick Frazee gathered up what didn't burn into a barrel, then asked his young field hands to dispose of the contents in the river, warning them that any bones were from deer.

A partial tooth remained...

It is tragic and disturbing just how many missing people are out there, as yet unfound.

My heart goes out to families, grieving and without answers.

Sweet Suzanne, where are you?

,,,BONES IN A DITCH FILLED WITH TREES AND BRUSH.

If the landscaper was hired to lay sod, the landscaper might have to remove trees and brush. IMO.
Ditches are great places to dump stuff, stuff which could be hidden under trees and brush.
Do landscapers work alone at times?
Could the ditch have been a temporary resting place for SM?
Would staff blink an eye seeing BM on the property, if BM had been hired to lay sod etc.?

I read a comment from someone who recently played the course...wishing more sod would be laid.

BM did not disappear, nothing weird.

There were TWO filings on 7/8/20: A "Warranty Deed" for BM and a "Guardianship Deed" for SM, each executed on 6/23/20 in fulfillment of the Contract of 5/2/19 that BM/SM had with the buyers. The guardianship order and motion approving the sale is attached to the GUA Deed. Court Order also recognized both BM and SM as title owners. All good.
Thanks @Seattle1, :) the list only showed the deed from Suzanne so that's where the confusion came in.
