I think so, too. It's not an uncommon phenomenon. The human mind is capable of compartmentalization to the point where severely traumatized people will completely "lose" (block) their memories of certain events.

We are observing only mere glimpses into BM's mindset and he's been pretty consistent with the "I'm innocent/grief-stricken/under immense stress not knowing what has happened to my wife or where she is/poor me, the victim/I'm being set up by LE to cover their incompetence". He will be amplifying these messages on a loop to his daughters. It's akin to a kind of brainwashing.

Something happened to fracture the extended Morphew-Moorman family communications two or so years ago. We don't know what that was, and it might not be of any huge significance in the bigger picture. It will, however, make it more difficult for the Morphew girls to reach out to the Moorman side of their family right now. BM convincing his daughters that the three of them need to support one another (at the expense of all other family connections) will be one of his priorities, the corollary being that if they did talk to anyone else, they'd be "betraying" their father and their tight family unit.
It's very possible that the daughters are currently angry at the "unfair" treatment LE is dishing out by setting their father up. Brainwashing has that effect. They are still viewing the world through their parent/father's lens and - due in part to the pandemic - have had little respite from that. They are isolated, with little opportunity for reality check challenges via work colleagues, friends, school associates, and other family members.
And he's all they have now (as they see it), so it's unsurprising that their traumatized minds are denying/blocking what is far too painful to contemplate.
The dam will breach, eventually. I think that the major search being organized by AM could well be a catalyst for that to happen. It will force the daughters to see things they haven't wanted to look at before. I suspect that the tight-knit family unit will begin to fracture at that point- if it hasn't already started doing so.

It was years before I knew you could use PineSol indoors. My granddad always had a supply 50/50 P & Water and wiped down tables, chairs, etc. and flies hate PineSol.

I use Pine Sol for cleaning all the time. I love the smell. I like Lysol too but I can’t find it lately.

It's likely more about the second search warrant- what he thinks they were looking for and/or found- and the questions he's been asked in the "90 hours of interviews.

DAs rarely personally get involved in the day-to-day activities of crimes. Only when they’re close to being solved do they typically become much more hands-on. Hopefully we get an arrest next week.

My husband is an attorney and he said the D.A. could be working with LE now in preparing to take Suzanne’s case before a Grand Jury to see if they find enough for an arrest? Or something like that...attorneys or those that know please chime in here when you can. It’s late in my time zone and my eyes are getting heavy. I want to research Grand Jury in Co but I’m too tired tonight. I wonder if how often they convene a Grand Jury has changed due to Covid. Everything else has so wonder how are they doing jury duty selection these days? I hope you are right and this means an impending arrest next week. Tomorrow would be even better!

The sighting of Barry in his truck, wet and bare-chested resonated with me too. I wondered whether he might have been checking to make sure that Suzanne's body hadn't become dislodged as a result of cadaverine gases. Your theory about mine shafts makes so much sense. Not only would they be inaccessible; the water at the bottom of the shaft/s would more effectively mask any scents that various stage cadaver dogs could pick up.

Yes, that description of BM appearing wet and looking like he had been in the creek reminded me of Scott Peterson keeping watch over the bay while investigators were searching.

If investigators were so interested in the area where BM lay down then I would think they would have searched this area as well. Didn't they use divers at one point? It's probably not so easy to search a mine, though. They would probably need a solid lead pointing in that direction in order to search there.

I can't stand the smell of Pine Sol, Lysol, or ammonia. I always use bleach, but never so much that the smell is strong hours later. That's why I thought the bleach had been used in the hotel room shortly before JP arrived there. The odor dissipates after a while. Imo

Back in May or June I posted a couple of links to information regarding the geological makeup of Colorado around Maysville. Plus a guide to all the abandoned mines in the area. I don't think BM is a criminal mastermind but one thing I do think he knows well is rocks. Boulders, granite, shale, gravel, etc. And I would imagine he knows where deposits of them are and how easy it would be to cover a dead body, or parts thereof, with rocks.

I keep coming back to that image of BM that TD mentioned where he was bare chested, soaking wet and cold looking the day before the videotape of BM explaining what happened to the bike. According to TD he appeared as if he'd been in the creek or the river and he walked up to his truck and sat in it with his chest against the steering wheel then he drove slowly away. I was looking at what was around there on the other side of the creek/river.

There is an old unused mine called Copper King mine just on the other side of the Arkansas River just a bit south and east of the Morphew home. I wonder whether he placed SM somewhere near that mine or under a wash of stones. Or parts of her.

I have no real idea how SM was killed. Initially, I thought it would be a bloodless murder like a strangling, drowning or suffocation, since I believed it was premeditated and that blood evidence would have been discovered during the search of the Morphew home in late May. But now we know about the abrupt end to the social media messaging between SM and her friend, I'm not so sure. It could be they got in an argument that escalated and she just got disgusted with the whole thing and put her phone down an walked away. And he followed her.

But BM being seen soaking wet and cold makes me think he was ensuring that something he had hidden was still hidden.

I also wondered whether the building site was dug up because cadaver dogs got a hit under the cement and even though it appeared they had no physical evidence in terms of bone fragments, etc I wondered if soil samples provided evidence of a dead body. JMO MOO

I hope they do eventually. It's not a cast-iron certainty. Some individuals are so irreparably damaged that they never recover and seek alternative ways of salving the pain (drugs and/or alcohol use, or even by taking their own lives).
The therapeutic work necessary to instill in their minds the firm belief that they are in no way to blame for their mother's death will be of paramount importance. It's difficult to get that process underway without an arrest and successful prosecution. The Morphew girls may be in limbo for some time, which will compound any existing trauma.
I'm hoping that the search, should it go ahead (it could be preempted by an arrest) will be a watershed moment for them. BM is likely already very stressed at the prospect of others looking for his wife, and how he should behave during the search. His daughters will be witnessing this first-hand. My hope is that any incongruity rises sufficiently to the surface to sow seeds of doubt in their mind/s and there'll be people around (e.g. Andy Morphew) who'll show them unconditional love, compassion, and support. This is often a tipping point.

Was just listening to Nancy. Crime Stories with Nancy Grace At 32:50 and further, she describes "it looked like the bed had been laid in".

Huh... I know contractors share rooms to save $, but ummmm, "the bed" vs. "one of the beds"? I would assume that room had two beds if he was coming to room with him.

Also, again... if Barry left early to go to work site to ready it... he already had napped and showered? Yet never went to the site?

I'm confused....

I would NEVER work for a company that has me bunking with my boss in a hotel room.

Barry knew before he got there that he'd be on his way home again before JP arrived. But at least during a LE interview he could look some investigator in the eye and say 'yes I stayed at the HIE in room '. Unfortunately, the fact that he didn't spring for two rooms for himself and JP suggests he already knew one wouldn't get used. Why pay?
