Agreed. I think she’s a decent distance from the house, but not as far as Broomfield. I imagine investigators have talked to his hunting buddies, and asked about locations where he has either shown interest, or hunted in the past.

Yeah, and depending on who his "hunting buddies" are, I wouldn't count on them helping LE.

So far, I've been hugely underwhelmed by the moral caliber of BM's known associates.

I just can’t get over the idea of taking anything from a crime scene to a secondary location, complete with security cameras and potential witnesses, to clean or get rid of it. I’m thinking more and more that this must have been an attempt to set “look-alike” JB up as a patsy.

I keep thinking about the Mark Sievers case, with his twin buddy.
You have a good point. ^^^

My .02 is that BM was careless enough to bring a large duffle bag (he was checking into a hotel, so of course he'd have some luggage.) into the room.
See ?
I'm staying in this room so I have my stuff packed !

Some men pack so little that it's ridiculous; but we don't know if BM was the type to have several sets of clothing in case of soiled shirts, pants, gloves, etc. from doing construction work.

Although JP has basically said BM's a liar.
No job ready, no tools, left alone at that room waiting.
He had to be ticked off (JP).
Wonder how many times he called BM ?
MOO.

In terms of where SM could be, here is how my mind works (MOO):

I can't imagine how stressful having a body to hide might be.... I would think the overriding thought would be "I can't get caught with this" which is why I think it would be unlikely to take the body all the way to Broomfield. I think you would want to hide it as soon as possible, and somewhere that you feel reasonably sure you won't get caught in the act. This is why I think she is somewhere BM has been before. Unfortunately, as a hunter, there could be a lot of places.... but if I were LE, I'd want to know where his favorite hunting spots were and start with the closest.....

I think both those thoughts would override the thought of putting her someplace that isn't connected to him.

JMO
I think you would want to have on a place like his property where they would need a search warrant to search. You would also want it to be far enough out of range of searches. Maybe one of the reasons he invented the alibi to Broomfield is to hide the fact that he would be seen with a trailer and a Bobcat. I think some place like this makes sense.

39°01'57.0"N 105°59'14.0"W

Nothing there, out of range of search teams close to Broomfield and Maysville. Nice road there where you wouldn't even have trouble backing up a trailer with a bobcat.

agree- and I think it may be clear that those hunting buddies gave NO info on any coolers
BM may have had.
Interesting on the cooler sites for hunters, there seemed to be a "Mine is bigger and better than Yours" thing.
I'd expect they look at all the equipment each hunter brings to the hunt.

What does everyone think is the holdup with an arrest? Is it the DA? I’m not impatient and I know there’s no statute of limitations on murder. Just wondering what everyone’s thoughts are.
Looking at the vitas of the appointed incumbent and her challenger, I do not see the kind of experience that gives me confidence that either candidate is up to the challenges of advising and managing a murder investigation and taking the case through trial. If BS is charged, he can afford the kind of counsel that makes a difference in these cases. An inexperienced DA may well be intimidated into waiting for more evidence than is truly needed. If the staff of the 11th Judicial District does not have a seasoned trial deputy with murder trial experience who is working this case, the incumbent should considering the appointment of a retired (or active) senior prosecutor who has such experience. BBM. Interesting thought. I was really bothered by his "if one person is saved, it would be worth it" (not a direct quote, but that's how I took it). This is not a criticism of anyone's faith, but there are fundamentalist sects within Christianity that that preach and teach submission on the part of wives toward their husband. There are plenty of examples where this works fine in a marriage, but it can also lead to abuse if the husband isn't a humble, caring, loving person. MOO, JMO.
IMO, Barry liked Ephesians 5:22-24, but seems to have ignored 25-33. - If a husband cherishes, supports and loves his wife unconditionally, always putting her own needs before his. A wife will respond in kind, JMO.

I have no idea what made him say that and agree it's a troubling thing to say under the circumstances.

I certainly won‘t be surprised if we find out there was a drinking/drug problem. It fits and sometimes can push someone to do things they might not quite have the gumption to actually do.

There is no evidence of any drinking/drug problem. I don't know why "it fits" but I"m also not qualified to make such a judgement. Nonetheless, IMO its completely unlikely as evidence of such would have been a great way to challenge or remove BLM as guardian if it were true.

honestly i find alot of similarities with the chris watts case. he backed his truck into his garage like he was getting ready for work, loaded everything up and did what he did. i think if he is on camera with some odd coolers theres a little bit of leeway for plausible deniability

Omg...something just occurred to me.
Y'all remember when Suzanne went missing Covid was starting to get pretty crazy and most stores were totally out of bleach but they were not out of chlorine since pool season was just around the corner. Walmart sells chlorine in powder and liquid form. I am thinking he may have stopped off at walmart for bleach and didn't find any so perhaps he grabbed a bottle of chlorine instead to clean whatever he was cleaning. The house smelling of bleach could have been bleach they already had at the house.

I wonder if she is somewhere off 285 between Buena Vista and Bailey. It's much more populated again after Bailey.... Area around Fairplay is very remote.... there is also a pass (Highway 9 i think) that cuts over into Breckenridge and he could have possibly taken taken that and then I-70 to Denver. I know we don't even know yet if he took that route, but i keep coming back to that. It is just such remote country...

With respect to the Morphew girls, I am hopeful that they will follow the example of their mother, who seems to have exemplified a fascinating phenomenon called "post-traumatic growth." Her recovery from the first onset of cancer and the advent of children seems to have led to her spiritual growth, exemplified by her ability to apply all the elements of Christian love: generosity, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, among all others. Her experience battling the second onset of the disease may have led to further growth, including a recognition that she would need the support of her network of friends in Indiana if she was to be happy after her girls left her home.

According to research (Tedeschi and Calhoun, 2014), post-traumatic growth goes beyond resilience. By actively searching for good in something terrible, people can use adversity as a catalyst for advancing to a higher level of psychological functioning. Victims of trauma need not succumb to it: if they accept the tragedy as irreversible, embrace the grief process, and receive care, they can experience growth in their personal strength, relationships, spiritual beliefs, appreciation for life, and new possibilities.

My hope is that SM's daughters seek out the kind of support that can help them turn their tragedy into personal triumph: their mother could not wish for a greater legacy.

I know absolutely nothing about trucks, but to a novice his looked pretty new. Would use chlorine cause rust in his truck bed?
Definitely a diluted effort -- like at the carwash. Ready water and drains.

  • #334
I don't think we are going to place him at a car wash. How would a contractor explain washing his truck BEFORE he started a job involving dirt? That would be yet another enormous red flag to have to explain away.
There's the boss/owner's truck and there's the delivery, equip, etc., truck(s) and never the two should be confused!

I wonder if the "wall repair" part of the story of BS's job in Denver relates to the 2019 collapse of a retaining wall on the Boulder Turnpike (U.S. 36) near the Church Ranch exit in Westminster - a city adjacent to Broomfield. The cause appears to be a problem of water drainage. If RTD wanted to protect the retaining wall at its nearby Flatiron Park and Ride from a similar collapse, and if BS was working on that project, the two issues may have been conflated as the story was told and retold. MOO of course.
I’m remember this!
Somehow I still wonder why a small & relatively new operation as far away as Salida, and landscaping as his specialty from what information is out there would be doing for RTD?
If so maybe some smaller projects at Park &Rides like decorative type rock walls in the landscaped areas vs highway structures ?
There is much work in most of the mountain towns and resorts much closer to BM
Just odd to me

Please, no more until after the searches.
I’m seeing temps in the 70’s forecasted on Accuweather for those dates thankfully
It should be perfect weather

Does anybody else think it will snow when the hero's arrive?
By all accounts from the locals posting here it will be melted by then.

I think LE KNOWS what happened but I’m worried they don’t have enough physical evidence! :( I hope I’m wrong, just something I’m worried about. I think BM was really good at hiding her body and physical stuff, but really bad at all the other stuff. I hope it’s enough! MOO

By definition they can't know unless they have evidence. Its either both or neither. IMO

So Andy said LE found no evidence of a struggle at the house, that means there is probably not enough evidence to charge Barry without finding Suzanne's body. Sadly this case may go cold. Andy talks about it at 59:00
